Ireland

The jerking of the train made vibration pass throughout my body. I was slumped down on the seat of the train with my face plastered to the window. I was weak from crying. My tear ducts were probably swollen up by now and they couldn't produce any more tears. But that was a good thing because my train ride was almost over.
Yes, I'm in Dublin, Ireland and no, I am not Irish. I am an American who came to Ireland, expecting a job with great pay at a law firm but nothing ever goes right for me. They canceled my interview because the position had already been filled. And the best part is, they didn't even bother calling me before I left for Ireland to inform me that my interview had been canceled! I quit my job back in The States, moved out of my apartment, sold most of my crap, and spent over a thousand dollars on a plane ticket and train ride.
I took my phone out to call my mother to inform her of my pathetic situation and to let her know that I will probably be moving in with her.
My mother. The only family I have... besides my two cousins and aunt Jeri who I rarely see cause they live in Florida. My mother encouraged me to come to Ireland but I didn't want to leave her. Shes been having loneliness problems ever since my father died...
My father. He died five years ago and I'm to blame. But that's a different story I'll save for later.
Just when I dialed all eleven numbers and was about to hit talk on my cell phone, a loud buzz came from the speakers over head. A lady on the intercom informed everybody that we were about to stop at my destination. I stuffed my phone back into my back pocket, threw my bag over my shoulder and then grabbed my luggage and waited for the train to come to a halt and the doors to squeak open.
After the train ride, I got onto a bus to take me the rest of the way. I paid my fee and headed to Erins apartment. Third floor, room 314. In mid-knock, the door opened to reveal Erin with a huge ass smile on her face.
Erin. A twenty-five year old true Sagittarius.
Sagittarius. Honest, trustworthy, and straightforward.
Pretty much explains Erin, word by word. That's why I love her. I met Erin about three years ago in The States back home. She was from Ireland attending her last two year of college in California with a scholarship and after she graduated, she went back home to Ireland. We kept in touch through email and Facebook and when I told her I was moving to Ireland, she insisted that I stay with her. I wouldn't have even thought of the possibility of coming to stay in Ireland if I didn't know anyone living here. She planned on taking me sight seeing; from the big city of Dublin, to the small country-side with an awesome landscape. I'll admit, I was excited. But now, I'm disappointed that I might not be staying very long.
"Harmony!" Erin exclaimed with arms wide open.
"Hey Erin." I greeted unenthusiastic, but accepted her hug anyway. I was excited to see her but not with this horrible news.
Erin noticed something was wrong with me, "What's wrong?" she asked concerned as she pulled away from the hug to look at me.
I sighed, "I don't think I'm going to be staying."
"Why the Hell not?" she pouted, furrowing her eyebrows.
"I didn't get the job."
"I thought your interview wasn't until tomorrow?" she questioned confused.
"They canceled it."
Her jaw dropped, "I am in me wick all the way down to my knickers! How rubbish could society possibly get!"
I looked at her like she was crazy and then smiled, "I see you got your Irish language back."
"What? What did I say?" She asked confused.
"...I don't know."
She started laughing and I started laughing with her. "Well, come on in and tell me about it." she moved pass me and grabbed my luggage. "I'll make us some tea and we can sit down and chat."
I pulled my bag further up my shoulder and followed her in.

"This totally sucks balls. I hate my life and I'm pretty sure God hates it too! I mean, its not like he's showing me any attention like he is to everyone else!" I rambled on to Erin over a nice cup of tea at her small end kitchen table.
"So what are you going to do?" Erin asked blowing on the tea in her cup.
I sighed, frustrated, "I don't know. I mean, I really don't want to leave cause I just got here--"
"Then don't!"
"But I have to. I can't stay here, I have no money--"
"Then get a job here. Just find another job and go on with the plan. I honestly don't mind you staying here longer than planned if that's what it takes for you to stay."
"I don't know Erin. I'll probably have a better chance getting a job in The States than here."
"Just try. Give it a week, and if you can't find a job, you can go back. Don't just give up."
I started fidgeting with the handle of the tea cup, "I guess I could try."
"Yay!" Erin cheered excitedly. "I missed you, Harms!"
"I know, but! No more than three days. I gotta get back home to find a job if Ireland doesn't work out.."
"Four days." She bargained.
I rolled my eyes, "Fine. Four days and that's it."
She put her hands up in defense, "Alright."
I smiled and took one more sip of my tea before getting up, "I'm gonna head to bed." I placed my tea cup in the sink. "I am so jet-lagged." I told her as I headed down the hall towards her guess room I was going to be staying in.
