“Am I damned?” I asked.
He laughed. “That’s like asking if you’re selfish.”

I fidgeted. “But what about how I live, where I work.”
He moved his hands around like he was looking into a crystal ball. His face scrunched up. “Oh no, Miss Victoria.”
I flipped him off.
