Tales of Symphonia Story, Tethe'alla Chronicles (3)

QUIZ START: You walk to the center of the village to see a house sitting on a mini 'island' that was surrounded by a small river. A stone bridge had been setup for people to cross. Orochi was waiting to one side of the building, *That must be the Chiefs place...* After walking to the island, he greeted you,
"The Vice-Chief is ready to see you." he motioned to the wall next to him. It was like a turn-style wall; after leaning your weight against one side you wind up inside. A voice came from inside the only room,
"Travelers from Sylvarant, you may enter."
"Thank you." Lloyd thanked,

You see a middle aged man kneeling on a small pad in the room, waiting. Sheena was kneeling behind him,
"Our leader, Chief Igaguri is ill." he explained, "I, the Vice-Chief, Tiga, shall speak on his behalf." You sit down next to Lloyd and listen, "Because Sheena failed to kill you, we the people of Mizuho now face persecution from the Tethe'alla Royal Family, and the Church of Martel."
"Is that true?" Lloyd asked,
"Yes. At least from what I heard." Tiga responded.
"We're sorry for causing you trouble." you tell him,
"Hm...Now, I have a question." he asked, "People of Sylvarant, what do you plan to do in Tethe'alla, the land of your enemies?"
"I've been thinking about that for a long time." Lloyd responded truthfully, "Someone asked me why I came all the way to Tethe'alla...what it is that I want to do. I want a world where everyone can have a normal life." he shook his head, "I'm tired of people having to become sacrifices. I'm tired of discrimination, I'm tired of people becoming victims. I'm tired of it all. I also came to help my friend, Aura. She knows this place, and I'm going to help her get her memories back. We all are."
"...You are an idealist." Tiga told him gently, "The worlds of Tethe'alla and Sylvarant flourish only by victimizing one another. So long as that structure remains the same, anything you say remains mere sophistry. Although on the subject of regaining memories, there is really not much i can say." Lloyd stood up,
"Then we need to change that structure!" he looked at you, "You remember this, right? This world was made by that Yggdrasill guy! Right?"
"Well...I think so." you tell him,
"Well, if a human or elf built this, then we should be able to change it as well!" Lloyd told the Chief.
"Hahahahaha!" the Vice-Chief laughed good-naturedly, "You speak like the hero, Mithos." that name resonated in your head. You transfer your gaze to your knees.
"He was a sublime idealist." Tiga went on, "He ended the Ancient War by insisting there was a way for the two warring countries to coexist in peace." you put a hand on your forehead,
"Hm..." you murmur,
"Are you saying you can become the next Mithos?" he asked Lloyd,
"I'm not Mithos." Lloyd responded truthfully, "I want to save the two worlds my way, with the help of my friends. And i want to help Aura get her memories back."
"...I see. In other words, you aren't worried about following past methods." Tiga nodded, "Well then, we shall search for a new path as well." by this time you had raised your head again. Sheena stood hopefully,
"Vice-Chief, do you mean..." she asked hopefully,
"Yes. We will use our information network to aid you." Tiga responded, still keeping his eyes straight forward. "In return," he told Lloyd, "When the path to prosperity for both worlds has been found. We wish to move our people to Sylvarant."
"But, I don't have any right to decide something like that." Lloyd told responded weakly,

"...Is everyone okay with us joining forces with the people of Mizuho?" Lloyd asked all of you,
"If it means that people will stop suffering, and if it could help get my memories back... I'm all for it." you tell him,
"If it will change the relationship of the two worlds." Colette agreed,
"Well, it dosn't sound like a bad deal." Professor Raine voiced.
"Let's hurry up and decide, so we can go rescue Presea." Genis urged,
"As long as Tethe'alla is safe. I don't care what you guys do." Zelos told him,
"Okay then." Lloyd turned back to the Chief, "Okay then, its settled. We're going to look for a way to change the two worlds." he said, "Let's work together."
"Agreed. Then I hereby order Sheena to continue to accompany you. This time, however, not just as an observer, but as a representative. Make us proud." Tiga told the Summoner.

"Yes, sir!" Sheena agreed happily,
"But Tiga, you sure you wanna turn the Royals and the Church against you like that?" asked Zelos,
"How about if I ask you?" the Chief countered, "Given a choice between the forces which wish to sacrifice one of the worlds. And the force that wishes to preserve both worlds. Which would you side with?"
"I'd like to say 'the one that's likely to win'. But I suppose I'd want to help the side that wants to preserve both worlds." Zelos admitted,
"Exactly. Now, the first thing we shall do is devote all our resources to locating the Rheairds." Tiga nodded with a small smile, "Fortunately, it appears that Sheena attached a guardian to the Rheairds. So we should be able to locate them shortly."
"Understood. Thank you for your help." Lloyd thanked. Then you all leave.

After leaving the Chief's place you all turn towards the Convict, who hasn't said a word this whole time,
"What's your name?" asked Lloyd,
"...Regal." he responded,
"Regal, huh?" asked Lloyd "I'm sorry, but we're gonna have to keep you prisoner for a bit longer."
"Lloyd. How about lettin' pops here fight, too?" asked Zelos,
"Even though he might betray us?" asked Genis,
"He has business with Presea, right?" the Chosen asked, looking towards the girl, "Then, he's not going to try anything before he gets a chance to speak with her, you know?"
"Actually, thats not a bad idea." Raine agreed,
"Raine!" Genis demanded,
"I dunno about this. But I won't make a fuss." Sheena said, "I also started off as your enemy."
"...Well? Will you fight alongside us for now?" asked Lloyd,
"All right." Regal agreed, "I swear upon my good name, and these shackles that bind me, I shall not betray you. Besides, I still owe a debt... To you." he looked towards you, "Aura. Correct? Even thought I was your enemy, you had the heart you use your healing powers to help me. For that, I am in your debt as well." you blushed lightly,
"N-no, no-- You don't need to worry about it! Besides, I was the one that knocked you out in the forest, anyway."
"If you do anything even the slightest bit suspicious, I'll burn you to a crisp, got it?" Genis warned.
"Well then. Welcome to our group, Regal!" Colette greeted. As you exit the village, you find Orochi waiting for you,
"It seems the pursuers have left the forest. You should hurry." he explained,
"All right, let's head for Altessa's place right away..." Lloyd urged,
"...I...want to go home to my village." Presea asked,
"Ah, right...Ozette first, then."
"Yes, Presea's parents are probably worried about her. We should head to Ozette." Raine agreed.
