Tales of Symphonia Story, Tethe'alla Chronicles (3)

QUIZ START: After everyone had agreed that they would help Yuan, your brother continued his explanation,
"The ranch and Mana Cannon systems should be interlinked. Disabling the control room should be our first priority." he said,
"You seem to know...quite a lot about them." Raine voiced,
"We have a reason to infiltrate Rodyle's ranch as well." Botta explained, "We can guide you to the entrance, if you'd like."
"We're teaming up, right?" Lloyd said, "Of course, please take us there."
"Why are you going to the ranch?" Sheena asked,
"We need to make preparations to fire mana at the Great Seed." Yuan explained; he paused for a split second, as if he was trying to remember something, and then continued, "Oh, by the way, the Rheaird dimensional transfer system will be offline while we make our preparations. You'll have to wait until after we infiltrate the ranch if you want to get back to Tethe'alla."
"So until we've finished our mission in Rodyle's ranch the most we can use the Rheairds for is transportation around Sylvarant." you ask,
"That's right." Yuan confirmed,
"Okay, got it." Lloyd agreed, nodding.
"Talk to Botta when you're ready." the half-elf explained; he turned towards Botta, "I'll leave the rest to you, Botta."
"Understood." he agreed.

Yuan approached you,
"Aura." he asked, sounding serious,
"?" you perk up just slightly "Yes?"
"Did that 'Kuchinawa' character give you anything? A ring, or necklace or something?"
"What do you mean 'Kuchinawa character'!?" demanded Sheena,
"Y-yeah, he did." Yuan's expression turned extremely serious,
"Let me see it." you pull the necklace from over your head, and hand it to him. Your half-brother inspected the necklace...before snapping the charm in half. Everyone gasped,
"Y-Yuan! Why did you--" you stopped when he held up a small flashing chip. He had pulled it out of the broken symbols,
"This is a tracker." the blue-haired half-elf explained "Kuchinawa put it in the necklace before he gave it to you, so the Papal Knights could find you at any time."
"S-s-so... Kuchinawa was..." Sheena asked,
"Yes." Yuan told her nodding, "This was how he was tracking you" he looked back to you, and apologized softly "...I'm sorry if that necklace really meant something to you."
"N-no, no." you assure, shaking your head "It was just supposed to be a good luck charm."
"...I'll take this." he asked,
"O-okay..." you agree. The half elf left, and you could tell that Sheena wasn't happy about what Kuchinawa had done. "Sheena..." you murmur.

Lloyd walked to Botta,
"Botta..."
"Are you ready?" he asked,
"Yeah, we're good to go."
"...Then follow me." the half-elf ordered. The Renegades had their own Rheairds, and you had yours. You followed them over the city of Palmacosta, then over a distance of Ocean. You soon landed on a small island, and in front of you stood a huge metal tunnel into the cave.
"We have work to do on the mana reactor in here." Botta explained, "If you head straight, it should connect to the ranch."
"Gotcha." Lloyd agreed, nodding. Botta and his two Renegades began to leave, however he stopped,
"Ah, one more thing." he voiced, "It seems you've destroyed every ranch you've been to, but we need the mana reactor in order to sprout the Great Seed. Don't destroy this one."
"Hear that, Raine?" Sheena teased as Botta and his companions left. True....Raine was the one who programmed all of the Bases to self destruct...
"...It's not like I destroy them for fun, you know." she mumbled.
"In order to disable the Mana Cannon, we need to go to the control room." Regal voiced,
"My intuition tells me it's probably the room farthest in. So for this place, that would be the top floor." Lloyd announced,
"You're amazing, Lloyd!" Colette said,
"That's a basic building strategy... Put the most important rooms furthest back in the building." you voiced
"Yeah," Genis agreed, "Besides we've been to enough of these places already, so things like that should be pretty obvious."
"..." Lloyd gave Genis an annoyed glare.
"Well then, let's get going and look for that control room." Zelos agreed.

You all filed into the metal tunnel, walking cautiously. Soon you arrived at an elevator with a Sorcerers Ring changer. The head of the ring turned tan, a darker tan music note in the middle,
"Hm?" you ask, examining the ring curiously, "Is it Music...?"
"Perhaps the ring emits a sound..." Regal voiced.
"Try it out, Lloyd." Zelos ordered. Lloyd held the ring forward and walled the ring to do whatever it did. A high pitched metallic sound rang forth from the ring,
"That's a strange sound..." Lloyd mumbled.
"O-ow...!" you mumble, covering your ears. The high pitch resonated painfully in your ears; your sensitive hearing causing you pain.
"Huh?" Lloyd looked at you curiously,
"I understand..." Raine said as you rubbed your ears, "Aura has Angelic hearing, meaning that her ears are far more sensitive than ours. The high frequency from the sound that the Sorcerers Ring makes is probably painful to someone with such sensitive hearing."
"But we probably need these rings to operate some of the machines here though..." Genis asked,
"Yes." the Professor confirmed, "The machines in this facility resonate with the sound from the Sorcerers Ring."
"So Genis was right," Sheena said, "This sound functions as a key for this place."
"Yes, but the sound is painful for Aura." Regal voiced, "What should we do?"
"Yeah...I know," Lloyd said, "We'll use them, but only when we have to." he looked to you,
"I'll cover my ears." you volunteer, "Don't worry."

After solving puzzles on the floors and battling past Desians who got in your way, you all stepped into the elevator and Lloyd pressed the 'up' button, however it only went up one floor
"Can't we go any higher?" Lloyd asked, mashing the up button repetitively; however the elevator wouldn't move.
"Hmm...As far as I can tell, this is the only elevator in this ranch." Raine agreed, "In other words, the Desians use this elevator to go higher than this. Which means the solution is simple." she explained,
"What do we do?" Lloyd asked
"We just have the Desians move it for us." Raine agreed, "In other words, we create a situation in which they have to move it."
"But what would make them move the elevator?" you ask,
"Let's create a disturbance." she explained, "For instance...the captives start a revolt."
"Revolt...?" you ask softly,
"And then we wait for the Desians to move the elevator." Lloyd agreed
"...That's a sinister plan." Sheena voiced,
"...Be quiet." Raine ordered, "Do you think were in a position to play fair?"
"We'll put the captives in danger..." you agreed, "But...If we have enough people here ban together I suppose they'll become a force to be reckoned with."
"My, my--I didn't know you had such a devious mind, my beautiful Silver Maiden." Zelos voiced,
"...." you turn your head away slightly, a blush appearing on your cheeks.
"Aura is exactly right." Raine agreed, "If they revolt, the Desians will have to move the elevator in order to come here and try to calm them."
"I do feel a little bad for them, but let's do it." Lloyd agreed.
