The New Symphonia Story 7

QUIZ START: You will reach the Grand Tethe'alla bridge tomorrow morning. And from everything thats been happening, a headache is a daily thing, and your getting used to it now. (thank you Azelle)

You stared into the night sky, the wind tickling your ears, blowing the loose cloth of your sleeves, and blowing alittle of your hair. In the distance, you saw an owl flutter towards the beautiful moon, the creature looked amazing. You watched the bird until it disappeared. A pitying glow emitted from the lunar orb, its rays cascading upon your face. Your eyes sparkled, a beautiful shining silver color
"Aura, are you okay?" You turned around and smiled when you saw Genis with a cup of hot chocolate,
"Yes, I'm fine."

Genis offered you the mug, you take it from his hands,
"Thanks." he sat down beside you.
"Hey, Aura?"
"Yeah?"
"...Can I...Can I ask you something?"
"...Sure."
"What happened between you and Yuan? He must've cornered you back there. It shouldn't take you that long to take off on the Rheaird." He knew...

You thought for a moment and considered the consequences. You sipped the hot chocolate and puckered your lips when your tongue screeched in pain. It was a lot hotter than you thought. Genis laughed and took your mug and placed it on the grass for you. You smiled sheepishly and mumbled,
"Genis, promise not to tell?"
"I promise, Aura." he said, giving you a reassuring thumbs-up.

"Yuan... I think he's my brother." Genis stared at you wide-eyed for a moment, but didn't jump to conclusions. "And... I wasn't staring at the moon because of that. Something else has been troubling me." For some reason, you felt as if you could confide everything into the little elf. Even if Genis was a little arrogant, he was trustworthy. Genis paused for a second and asked,
"Were you thinking about Kratos?" You said nothing but looked up at the sky.

~Elsewhere:

Kratos stared at the benevolent night sky, the stars twinkling about. The moon shone brightly and he sighed. He couldn't help it, the beautiful silver moon...reminded him of Aura. The wind blew, blowing the spike of hair slightly out of the way of 1 eye, and into the other. An owl screeched, and flew over his head, out to parts unknown in the night. He closed his eyes, and hung his head
"Why did it have to come to this? Why...?"

A deep, sinister voice spoke from behind,
"Because... she's mine, Kratos Aurion."

Kratos stood stiff as a board. He turned around; Yggdrasill regarded him with cold eyes. Instead of floating, his lords wings were gone, and he stood on the ground. He was just slightly taller than Kratos
"Lord Yggdrasill." the Angel said, bowing slightly,
"You know all to well the suffering Aura has been through. That has been all your fault." Yggdrasill said, smirking while he put emphasis on the last 3 words. *Thats a lie...* Kratos growled in his head. But he kept a straight face, and said nothing. Yggdrasill walked by him "I have heard..." he began, "That you began showing feelings for my woman, Kratos." Kratos repeated the words that killed him inside when he said them to Aura,
"...Like I said to her. Aura began to show feelings for me. I wanted to make sure I could keep an eye on her, and that she trusted me. So I copied the feelings she showed me... I didn't mean any of it..." those last words left a disgusting taste in his mouth.
"Hm..." His lord was behind him. When his hand shot out, grasping something around his neck, and pulling. He was chocking him *?! What?!* when Kratos realized what Yggdrasill had grabbed.

Before he could do anything there was a faint clink, the chain around his neck was broken, and the pressure on his throat relieved. Kratos spun around, his heart was pounding *No!*
"Hm..." a smirk played across Yggdrasill's face when he saw Kratos' expression. Worried, and almost...scared "What's this?" his lord questioned. Toying with him. The silver key and broken chain were resting in the palm of his hand. He lightly traced the small silver key, "Now why would this be of any importance to you?"
"..."
"...Is it Auras?"
"No." Kratos responded. Too quickly. Yggdrasill's expression hardened, and clenched a tight fist around the key.
"This is your final warning, Kratos. Aura is mine. She has, and she always will be. I see you so much as smile at her. And she will be put through more pain than you can imagine." Yggdrasill threw the key to the ground, sprouted his wings, and flew away.

After his lord was gone Kratos quickly sunk to his knees, and began shifting his hands through the grass. *Where is it? I can't loose that key! I promised her!* the moonlight gleamed off the silver Promise Ring, which the Angel was still wearing. When his fingers ran over something metal, relief flooded through him. He sighed in gratitude, holding the key close to his chest. Kratos caught his breath. He held both halves of the chain up, and the small key dangled in front of the moon.
"..." he clenched both hands around the key, holding the small charm to his heart as he lowered his head, "...I'm so sorry...Aura...."
