The New Symphonia Story 9

QUIZ START: Upon arriving, you see the Research Academy is a very large building which a town had sprung up around. After going inside the large building greeted by a scientist who was somewhat confused by your presence,
"Yo!" Zelos greeted "There should be word from Meltokio."
"Ah, Chosen One! We've been waiting for you! Please come this way." the scientist responded happily. You follow him to a room *This place is like the Palmacosta Academy...* you think comment,
"Upon receiving the report of Colette's symptoms." he explained, standing behind a desk with a grey stand set on top, "We focused our attention on the research data regarding the Chosen's Cruxis Crystal."
"Well now. So my crystal was useful." Zelos commented. "When Colette returns to normal, I'll need to make sure she thanks me generously. <3" A glowing blue sphere showing information appeared above the stand,
"Cruxis Crystals are thought to be evolved forms of Exspheres." the Scientist continued, "Both Exspheres and Cruxis Crystals are lifeless beings."
"What did you say?!" demanded Raine,
"Lifeless...?" you murmur. *That word...* you think, you'd heard it before
"Life...less? What?" asked Lloyd
"Lifeless beings. How should i put it?..." Raine began, "Basically. Exspheres are alive. Though....though not in the same way we are."
"Yes." the Scientist confirmed, "Both of these crystals are like parasites fusing with other life forms."
"Parasites...hm...That's not a very pleasant thought." Lloyd mumbled,
"When this happens, the mana within the body loses balance and goes out of control without a Key Crest." the Scientist explained,
"So that's why Exspheres without Key Crests turn people into monsters." Genis commented,
"Exactly." he agreed, "In other words, since Cruxis Crystals possess the same qualities as Exspheres, we surmise that Colette is suffering from a parasitical infection by the Cruxis Crystal."
"So...Colette needs Key Crest?" you ask,
"Basically." he nodded,
"I see. In which case, the ritual of releasing the seals may be promoting the fusion with the Cruxis Crystal. Fascinating..." Raine mumbled,
"Professor. Don't talk like that after all the bad things that keep happening to Colette..." Lloyd asked,
"Then, if she had a Key Crest, she'd return to normal, right?" asked Zelos.
"Yes, she should be able to freely control the Cruxis Crystal if she had a Key Crest." the Scientist confirmed.
"A Key Crest, huh?" asked Lloyd "I wonder if we can get one somewhere."
"Hey." you voice, "Come to think of it.... That stand we passed by on the way here--the one with all that stuff piled in it. I think I saw something that might have been a Key Crest there."
"A stand? Do you remember where it is?" asked Raine,
"Yeah." you confirm, "It's actually not far away. Come on."

The others followed you out of Academy and in the direction of the library. Upon arriving in the square, you quickly located the stand,
"There." you say. There was a small 'stand' squashed in between an actual shop and the wall. It was crammed with random stuff,
"Okay, let's have a look." Lloyd agreed. After you walk over there...
"Whats this place? All you're selling is junk." Zelos commented,
"It's marvelous!" Raine exclaimed suddenly, making you jump, "This is just marvelous!!" she looked at a small square of strange material and said, "Ohh, this is ancient magitechnology carbon!!" Genis sighed,
"...There she goes again." he mumbled,
"Argh. Come on, please!" Lloyd said, "Aura, where was that thing?"
"Uh..." you look around the piles of junk, when a glow catches your eye. Sitting on top of a trunk was a Key Crest, "Ah! There!" you carefully pluck it from the chest.
"Yeah! That's a Key Crest!" the brunette grinned excitedly,
"What? You want this piece of junk?" asked the owner,
"Yeah! How much?" asked Lloyd,
"Hmm...let's see... 10,000 Gald." the man responded,
"Taking advantage of people in need..." Lloyd muttered. The Key Crest was still resting in your hand, you sighed softly as you tried to remember how much gald you had at all.
"This is a business, after all. But...eh...if it's for the beautiful young lady there, ill give you a discount...9,000." you felt a drop of sweat slink down your head,
"Womanizer..." you mutter. Zelos walked forward,
"Okay. Call the one responsible for this bazaar right now." he ordered, "I'll make sure he can't do business anymore. Let alone go after my beloved hunny, Aura."
"Not...making me...feel...better..." you whisper. The owner glared angrily at the Chosen,
"Wh...who are you?" he demanded,
"You've got some guts to be ignorant of the great Zelos, the Chosen." Zelos put emphasis on that last word,
"Chosen?!" the man exclaimed suddenly, "Please, take this junk--... Uh, I mean, I humbly offer this up to you, so please forgive me!"
"Good, good. I like your attitude. I'll remember you." Zelos grinned,
"Hahaha...ha." then you leave.

"Thanks Zelos." Lloyd thanked as you paused in the square in front of the library,
"It was nothing. After all, it was for my darling Aura, and my cute Colette." Zelos responded,
"Okay! I'll borrow a lab at the Academy and fix it." the brunette said. After heading back to the Academy you find the scientist from earlier was waiting at the door
"Sorry to bother you. But could I borrow a lab?" asked Lloyd,
"He wants to make a Key Crest." Zelos chimed. The man looked from Lloyd to Zelos,
"O...oh. Chosen One! Please make use of that room you were in earlier." he moved aside and Lloyd got a somewhat annoyed look.
"I'll repair the Key Crest, so just wait at the entrance." Lloyd asked,
"Sure, sure." Zelos agreed.
"Good luck." you tell him.

After about an hour of sitting around, Lloyd finally finished; he walked over to where Colette was standing. He had put the Key Crest into the necklace,
"I didn't think I'd be giving you your birthday present like this..." he commented quietly, "I've attached the Key Crest to your necklace. It's late, but it's my present for you..." he put the necklace on Colette... "...Colette? Can you hear me?" he asked hopefully,
No response.
