I Had a Dream About You
i woke up near the sea
His eyes are lighter than the water that surrounds us. And I can’t believe it. My shoulders feel colder than the rest of my body although I stand in the shallow of the cold ocean. I am able to leave his gaze and notice the smirk tugging at his lips. He is positioned farther out into the sea, seemingly standing across from me, monitoring my every move.
Despite the fact that the ocean is alive beneath us and that the air violently lashes our hair around, it is completely without sound. Just like a scene right out of a silent movie.
I order myself to walk towards him but the ice that is the ocean freezes me still. He however remains unmoving. While testing the tranquility of his body my eyes catch movement in the water.
Panic runs through me, this time muting any noise my mouth is capable of making. I can’t warn him, it’s hopeless.
The last thing I see is the foam of bubbles replacing the place where he once stood.
I didn’t even know his name.
