Remembrance

1/1

A lonely, balding man stood in front of a blue jukebox just days after the accident. He was in a shabby little bar. Out of the forty chairs available, only one was occupied, and it happened to have his belongings on it. A bartender could be heard humming and washing dishes in the background.

The man put a quarter in the jukebox and picked “Nameless Street” by Defeater. The power chords and loud banging of the drums went along with the vocalist’s screams. The sounds helped block out the painful memories in the man’s head.

The last thought to slip away was of him and his late wife feeding blue birds in a forest that had been burned down that same day.
