Belonging to Lust

Chapter 170: Race War?

To say she was tired was a major overstatement. Zaiyia was drained! It was Thursday and the morning hadn’t yet begun when Heath descended on her cooking him breakfast in the kitchen. She hadn’t been expecting him to enter and tear her clothes off the way he did before carrying her back to his bed. And the three orgasms after that followed before he got dressed, kissed her goodbye and left for work? Lord, she hadn’t been expecting that either. The hot steamy memory pulled a lovestruck smile to her face as she got out of the McCoy sister’s car parked in the school parking lot.

On the sidewalk, Chasity waved them over to her with a smile. Accepting the invitation, they met up with her and listened to her brief them on what’s been going on lately. “So, I’m sure you’ve all heard the announcement by now that there is going to be an assembly tomorrow, right?”

“Yeah, what of it?” Aishah inquired with a cherry flavored lollipop in her mouth. She popped it out to tip it towards Chasity. “Hold up, does it have to do with the whole bullying shit?”

Chasity nodded. “It is. The Principal is gonna have the whole school there and we’re finally gonna hash this out once and for all.”

“And with security for our protection.” Zaiyia added, then indicated to everyone around them with a finger. “Cause I wouldn’t put it past these crazy ass fools not to try something with me.”

“Always stay one step ahead of them, girl! I like that!” Aishah praised her with two thumbs up. “Well, I sure do hope this shit works out for y’all. Cause all this race war shit is too much fuckery for me.”

Chastity stilled, her eyes darting upwards from her phone to stare at Aishah. “Pardon?”

“Pardon who?” Aishah echoed, arching a brow in question.

“What did you just say?” Chasity inquired, her brows furrowing with worry. She wondered if she looked as pale as she felt because all the blood just drained from her face.

Uncomfortable for being put in the spotlight, Aishah slowly recited her words, seeking anything that could have been taken out of context to Chasity. “Uh…I said stay one step ahead of them, girl. And that I liked it.”

“No, what you said after hoping that things will work out for us.” Chastity persisted onward, reducing it down for Aishah to the exact words she needed her to reiterate aloud again.

“The ‘race war shit being too much fuckery for me’ part?” Aishah asked, uncertainty on her face.

Chastity let out a breath, her eyes shifting everywhere as if something severely plagued her. The others glanced at each other with concern before she finally spoke again. “Race war?”

“Yeah, race war.” Assata confirmed with a nod, not grasping what the worriment was.

“But…I don’t understand.” Chasity whispered, shaking her head in denial as she looked at other women around her. “What does she mean by race war?”

Having already had her phone whipped out, Zaiyia searched up the term ‘race war’ to have a factual definition to pass on. “It says here in Urban Dictionary that it’s basically when parties of different ethics backgrounds got beef with one another and decide to fuck each other up.”

“But how does that apply to this situation?” Chasity questioned, still unable to perceive what the others have always noticed.

Frowning at Chasity, Monnique simplified it for her. “Girl, what’s wrong with you? Haven't you noticed that every single hoe up in this trashy ass school that’s been bullying our girl, who’s black by the way, has been white?”

“Race War.” Assata reaffirmed with a shrug.

“Oh my god…” Chastity gasped, looking about ready to faint on the spot.

“You okay there, honey?” Assata inquired, reaching out a hand to hover near the poor girl in case she toppled over. “Do you need to sit or something?”

“I’ve just…I’ve just never noticed this before.” Chasity stammered to say, her hand coming up to press against the side of her head. Shaking her head in disbelief, she closed her eyes and whispered to herself. “God, how the hell have I never noticed this before?!”

“How have YOU never noticed this before? More like how have I not noticed this before!?” Zaiyia exclaimed back passionately, frustrated with herself for not taking notice of this either. It opened new doors to her whole predicament. Was her ‘stealing’ Alan from Alice the real reason these idiots were out to get her so resolutely, or did her skin tone have anything to do with it?

“Makes you wonder if it’s because you’re black.” Moniqiue wondered aloud, reading Zaiyia’s mind.

“It’s not.” Aishah said positively.

Monique frowned at her. “And just how would you know that? Have you been talking to these fools behind Zaiyia’s back or something? Breaking bread with the enemy

“Bitch please!” Aishah rebuked the accusation, rolling her eyes. “If they were really out to fuck her up cause she’s black they would have came for every other black person in school too including us!”

“Point taken.” Monique sanctioned, holding her hands up in defeat.

While the others were conversing on this so casually, Chastity was on the brink of having a panic attack. She couldn’t believe what had been in front of her face the entire time! She couldn’t believe how blind she’d been.

A Race War.

“Oh my god, can you imagine how this would look to people on the outside that didn’t go to this school and know what was really going on!?” Chastity distressed, her fingers pulling at her silky red strands. “Jesus Christ, a race war!?”

“Honey, take a deep breath. There’s nothing to worry about here.” Zaiyia tried to console her, placing her hands on Chasity’s shoulder to give her a little shake back to reality. It didn’t matter what anyone else outside of their drama thought. What matters was the facts, and as far as they knew there was no racism behind these attacks. “Everyone involved knows what this nightmare is about and that’s what’s important. All the players on the board are present for us to finish the game. Who gives a fuck about some passerbys, you feel me?”

“Y-Yeah. You’re right.” Chasity nodded, taking several deep breaths as instructed to.

“Good.” Zaiyia sighed, stepping back. She muttered beneath her breath, chiding herself. “Still can’t believe I never saw this shit before either.”

“Out of curiosity, Zaiyia…have any of these pricks ever insulted the color of your skin or the way you looked when they’d bullied you?” Monique inquired, both of her brows arched high in wonder.

“I can’t lie. I have heard a few things here and there.” Zaiyia admitted with an eye roll. “But not as frequently as you would think when I’ve crossed paths with some of them. I expected to be rained with racist insults.”

“It doesn’t matter when it happened! The point is, it did!” Chasity lamented, covering half her face with disappointment in the people who said it, and at herself for not being cognizant of it sooner. “And it never should have happened because those words are UNACCEPTABLE no matter what’s going on!”

“You’re right, Chasity. THOSE types of dickless rats could be bullying you because of your race.” Assata said with a shrug. “But when it comes to the others, that might not be the case. It might be because of their palpable love and allegiance to Alice.”

Close to the gum in the center of her lollipop, Aishah added. “The selected few are totally racist sacks of shit. I just hope the majority have their heads shoved so far up Alice’s ass they can’t make sense of anything from inside her large intestine. Better disturbing obsessors than sleazy racists, am I right?”
