I took Shannon scuba diving one summer day. At first she was hesitant about the voyage, but she said she’d give it a try. She could have easily lied about having something else to do, sparing herself, but by the look in her eyes, the fear she had with sharks was clouded. I remember pushing down her goggles from her head, smiling at her with a GoPro in my hand. She mouthed something to me, but I couldn’t comprehend under the water. She was smiling, so that meant something.
