It's The World I Know

I never did believe in superpowers, or spiritual gifts, as my mom and my pastor called them. I never believed in anything that I couldn’t explain through my experience or an experience shown to me by a reliable source. Stuff like that was for the books and movies. Harry Potter had his parseltongue, and thanks to Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn is immune to certain poisons.

I, however, had none of those things. No real person could, because they don’t exist. People who believed in all of it made me so frustrated. It was like they weren’t willing to face any kind of reality. I thought it was childish; stupid.

In all of these things, I was wrong.

All of the other chapters will be significantly longer. This was just an introduction, really.
