The last rays of the afternoon sun beamed through the window panes, bathing the room with a warmth that made her skin tingle with delight. Glancing from the corner of her eyes, she blissfully took in the sight of him, heart pounding loudly in her chest as she did so. Briefly, she wondered if Sabine knew that he had a crooked nose, or a slightly lazy left eye; if she knew that he chewed the insides of his right cheek when he was bored, or the rosy tint that colored his cheeks once in a while. But these didn't matter right now. Under the light, the gold undertone of his tanned skin came alive, swathing his features in sublimity. To her, he was David, the epitome of perfection, and once again, he left her breathless, wanting something that was far out of her reach.
