Yours, Mine, and Ours.

Chapter One

Ahhh, Sunday, thank God for Sunday. It was the only day that I had off from boot camp, and the one day I was able to catch a break. I was currently lounging around in my hotel room, longing just to be back home at my apartment in California, where the weather was actually warm. To be back in a place where I wasn't constantly freezing my ass off.

I was wearing a pair of ripped up jeans, a dark red and black plaid shirt, a pair of boots and a black beanie placed over my head. I was laying on the couch, with the TV playing some sappy romance movie called Love Actually, and I as quite close to dozing off when I heard a soft knock coming from the hotel door. Or well, I thought I heard one anyway, if someone was knocking then they were knocking rather quietly.

With a small groan coming from between my lips, I rolled my body off of the couch and slowly made my way over to the door. Who the hell could possibly be on the other side?

"Jai." I breathed out. To say the least, I was rather shocked to see him standing there. Though, he looked absolutely amazing. I could see that under his jacket he was wearing a white shirt, that almost looked like a light blue color. His jacket, just like his tight pants and his shoes were black. I had to shake the inappropriate thoughts from my head, "What are you doing here?" I questioned.

I watched as his hand came up and removed the sunglasses that were resting over his eyes, "Well, Selenia, I was actually wondering if you, uh, wanted to go get some coffee with me or some lunch." He actually looked kind of nervous as he spoke. I was shocked to say the least. "You mean, like as friends or something?" I questioned. He looked at me for a few moments before nodding his head, "I mean, yeah if that's what you want, or we could, I don't know, make it a date." He added.

I honestly, just couldn't believe what I was hearing right now. Was Jai Courtney really asking me on a date right now, or was I in some kind of messed up, twisted fantasy?

"A date? I mean, uh, yeah sure. I'd love to get some coffee, or lunch with you." I nodded my head. Slowly, I stepped back so he could step into the hotel room while I got my stuff together so we could leave. "Just give me a minute." I requested.

He stepped into the room, before shutting the door behind him, as I walked over to the couch, were I grabbed my bag which held my wallet and room key. I slung it over my shoulder before stuffing my cell phone down into my pocket. I doubt I would actually need it, but just in case, I was of course going to be taking it with me.

Once we were both ready, we walked out of the hotel room together. We walked along side of one another, but at the same time I was letting him lead the way. I couldn't help but feel ever so awkward as we walked along beside each other without saying a single word to one another. "So, it's uh, a pretty day out." I tried to at least make some kind of small talk. Just trying to make it even a little less awkward. Or maybe I was the only one that actually felt awkward about this. "Yeah, it is," He chuckled, "Sorry, I'm not usually this nervous in this kind of situation."

Jai was nervous? What the hell would someone as attractive as him have to be nervous about? I mean, look at him- he's absolutely gorgeous! "Why are you nervous?" I couldn't help but ask him about it. I just had to know.

Once more he chuckled ever so slightly, before bringing his hand up to the back of his neck. "I'm nervous, because I really like you Selenia. I've been wanting to ask you out on a date since the first day of boot camp, but I was never able to bring myself to do it until now." I couldn't help but smile at the sound of his words- it was really quite cute to hear what he had to say about this situation.

"Am I that intimidating while we're at boot camp?" I joked. I knew I wasn't really intimidating at all, I just couldn't stop myself from making the joke. "No, but your dad kind of is." Jai said quickly, and kind of quietly. That made more sense. I could understand why anyone was scared to ask me on a date simply because of my father.

It's one of the things that kept me from going on many dates back when I was younger because the boys that were interested in me were also scared shitless of my father. All because of his past in the military. It didn't really help that I later ended up spending two years in the service as well.

"That makes sense." I said with a sigh.

My words seemed to make Jai quickly drop his hands and look over to where I was walking next to him. "What do you mean by that?" He was quick to ask me. I think I had somehow just dragged myself into a type of conversation that isn't usually a good one for first date topics. But I couldn't think of anything to say that would get him off and away from the subject. So I was kind of stuck in it now, right? "It's just something that I've heard a lot from guys when I was younger, so it's rare that I actually went on a real date." I sighed.

"Plus, it doesn't help that I then ended up going into the military as well." I shrugged my shoulders. Jai was silent for a few moments after that, which really didn't make me feel all too positive about his reaction of me telling him all that. It probably really wasn't the best thing to do right now.

And now I'm paranoid that I just ruined the first day with such an amazing guy. Did I just fuck it all up?

Worried, I couldn't stop myself from clasping my hands together in front of me, and my breathing picked up ever so slightly as we continued walking. Speaking of which, how much farther are we going to walk. Does he even have any idea of where we're even going to go for coffee, or lunch, or whatever it is we're going to do now?

"Well, I mean it's only because your dad is kind of scary. Truthfully, I was kind of worried that he would kick my ass just for wanting to ask you out," Jai admitted, which made me slightly smile, "Oh! Here's a good place, come on."

I felt him place his hand on my lower back before leading me into the building that he had picked out. It was a nice little coffee shop, it kind of reminded me of a Starbucks but it wasn't a legitimate Starbucks. There tables alternating of different heights spread throughout the room, over to the left was the counter in which to order, as well as a little case that held any kind of bread or pastries that you could think of.

It reminded me of some kind of mix between a Starbucks and a Panera Bread sort of place. I walked over to the counter with Jai, and helplessly looked up at the drink menu. Though, just because I was looking up at the menu board, didn't mean that I couldn't see the little girl standing behind the counter eyeing Jai like some piece of meat.

"Hi! My name's Beverly, what can I get for you today?" She continued to stare at him as she spoke. I had to stop myself from making that eye roll moment all too obvious. Or wait, maybe I didn't. Considering I was the one that's on the date with Jai right now.

It made me smirk just a bit as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Yeah, give me a hazelnut Frappuccino; and then for the lady?" He looked over in my direction with a smile. The little girl didn't look away from him as I finally made up my mind. "Just give me a green tea crème Frappuccino." I sighed. Yet, the little girl to was busy ogling at Jai to even realize that I had said anything to her. I was so very tempted to open my mouth and yell at the girl, but I was more than happy when Jai said something instead.

When he saw that the girl wasn't paying any attention, he repeated my order for me- and this time she actually listened. "Thanks for that." I smiled over to Jai as the girl handed him his card back. "It's not a problem, Selenia. I, personally, didn't really like the fact that she was ignoring you." He shrugged slightly.

I couldn't help but smile at him as we moved over to the opposite end of the counter to wait for our drinks, so the people behind us could order their drinks next.

"So, Jai, tell me- what kind of hobbies do you have when my father and I aren't putting you through vigorous training processes." I couldn't stop myself from laughing at my own words as I asked the question. I felt kind of awkward seeing him outside of work, the only thing I could really do in this situation is try to make small talk.

He smiled as he stepped forward and got our drinks for us. I gave him a small smile as he handed me mine, and I grabbed myself a straw.

"Well, honestly, ever since I was a kid, I've always loved acting. As I grew up, I just decided I wanted it to be more than just a hobby." He had this kind of smile on his face. Just that kind of smile that I could tell how passionate he was about acting. "What about your hobbies?"

That was actually pretty tricky question I'll admit, at least it is now that I actually have to think about it and answer it for myself. I had so many hobbies as I was growing up, I don't think it's actually possible for me to only choose one. "That one's kind of tricky actually. I spend a good portion of my time reading and I like to cook. Other than that, my main hobby is pretty much just lounging around and sleeping." I couldn't help but chuckle ever so slightly towards the end of speaking.

I could feel his eyes on me as we walked out of the building together and started walking back in the direction of the hotel we were all staying at during this whole process.

"What kind of things do you like to cook?" He questioned, looking down at me. Why is it only now that I was realizing how much taller than me he really is? Then again, most everyone around here is taller than me. "Well, anything really. It's just something that I enjoy doing, probably because I love food in general. Do you like cooking, like at all?" I couldn't stop from asking.

"Well, I do enjoy making breakfast, but I can't really say that I'm all too good at cooking too much." He said simply. I thought it was kind of cute. "So, what would be your favorite thing to cook?" I questioned.

"Favorite dish is poached eggs, toast, avocado, and smoked salmon with a wedge of lemon on the side. Hands down." He came up with that answer pretty quickly. It sounded like an odd combination of foods, but at the same time it actually sounded quite good and I was half tempted to try it some time.

Jai and I talked some more, shared a few laughs as we made our way back to the hotel, and he even walked me back up to my room. Although, it was only on the other end of the hallway than the room he was in. So it's not like he was really going too far out of his way. We stood together in the hallway, as I mocked myself for how long it was taking me to fish the hotel key out of my purse.

"Thank you for today, Jai. I really had a lot of fun with you." I smiled up to him, holding my almost empty cup of Frappuccino in my hand. I couldn't help but smile like a idiot as he leaned against the door frame only a few inches away from me. "Good. I had a lot of fun with you too, I hope we can do it again soon." He said. Do it again? As in going on a second date with one another. Yes, please! I mean, I couldn't even believe he even wanted to go on one date with me.

"I hope so too; but I guess for now, I'll see you tomorrow?" I suggested.

"Yeah, yeah I'll see you tomorrow." He nodded in conformation. Slowly, I took a step back and closed the room door before leaning up against it and sighing.

Holy Hell, how the fuck did I ever get so lucky to have ever even gone on a date with the one and only Jai Courtney- let alone one date that was leading on to a second date. If only I would've actually done some kind of good-bye gesture. Like a hug, or hell I would've even kissed him on the first date. That's not the kind of person that you would pass up kissing if he wanted to kiss you. Simple as that.

"God, I'm so stupid." I groaned out leaning my head back up against the door. That's when there was suddenly, once more, a light knock on the other side of the door. I was quick to push myself away from the door before opening it.

Once more, I saw Jai standing there with his hand on the back of his head. "Jai...did you forget something, or?" I trailed off towards the end of my sentence. "Yeah, I did actually." He breathed out. Let's just say that I was fairly shocked when he stepped forward, placing his hand on my cheek, and kissed me.

When he pulled away, he looked at me with wide eyes, "I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself." He breathed out, pulling away from the kiss.

I quickly shook my head, "Don't be, it's okay. I actually quite enjoyed that, and it actually has me looking forward to our next date even more." I chuckled. "Good, because I can't wait either." He smirked.

So, yeah I know that first chapters always suck ass; but I just couldn't resist writing something about the amazingly attractive Jai Courtney. Just had to do it.

Bye now.
