Dolce Vita

Tell me about it... stud

Sloane woke up in Roman's bed, the sheets tangled around her legs. She was laying on her stomach, and he was on his back next to her, his right arm laying across his stomach, his knuckles just barely grazing her ribcage. She glanced at the clock on the nightstand on his side, it was just after nine in the morning. She wondered if she could make it to the bathroom without waking him, she couldn't imagine how exhausted he was with his road trip, traveling all day and then the hours they'd spent in this very bed the night before.

She jumped when his alarm clock sounded off and interrupted the quiet morning. Roman groaned and slammed his hand around the nightstand to try to shut it off. Once the noise was gone he opened his eyes and looked at her, instantly smiling, "I'm surprised you're still here."

Sloane grinned, "Well I was planning my exit strategy but your alarm clock beat me to that."

Roman slid his arm under her and pulled her into his side, making her laugh. He shut her up by pressing his lips firmly against hers before he pulled away and told her, "You're not going anywhere."

Sloane let out a sigh in dramatics before she relaxed against him and told him, "That's fine by me."

She closed her eyes and started drawing figure eights against his abdomen with her index finger, Roman ran his hands through her hair gently. He glanced out the windows, the sun was up and lighting up the entire room, he was glad the apartment was on a higher floor because they hadn't thought to close the curtains last night.

"So…about last night." Sloane started, not really sure how to approach the subject. She wasn't sure what his feelings would be about it, she herself hadn't thought past that first kiss and she definitely hadn't planned or expected what transpired between them after.

Roman looked down at her as she turned so she could face him. She was laying on her stomach, propped up on her elbows with the sheets hitting the middle of her back. He tucked her caramel locks behind her ear and told her, "I have no regrets, do you?"

"None." She told him with a smile.

"Truth be told I spent the entire road trip trying to figure out how to make a move without scaring you off." Roman admitted, watching her smile gently. He raised his eyebrow at her, "What are you smiling at?"

"Nothing." Sloane said, running her middle finger up and down the center of his open palm, he eventually snapped his hand closed around hers, tangled their fingers together and placed his other hand flat against her warm back.

Before he could respond to her their perfectly blissful morning was interrupted by a constant knocking on his apartment door. Roman dropped his head against the pillow and sighed and Sloane wrapped the sheet around her body and sat up. He turned his head to her and watched her bare back as she yanked his shirt over her head and asked, "Where do you think you're going?"

Glancing over her shoulder she sent him a playful smile before telling him, "I have to pee."

She got up and disappeared into the bathroom and Roman heaved himself out of bed and threw on a pair of sweat pants. He shuffled out to the door, yanking the heavy wood open to find Seth on the other side.

Roman raised his eyebrow at his teammate who informed him, "We were gonna do breakfast before practice."

"Right…"

Sloane left his bedroom, walking into the living room in nothing but his shirt and Seth's face flushed when he caught sight of her before he said, "But I can see you're busy. Hi Sloane."

"Hi." She smiled and waved before she said, "I'm just gonna go put some pants on… you guys want breakfast?"

They both shrugged and Roman closed the door behind Seth before they took seats at the kitchen island while Sloane went to get dressed. She came back out a few seconds later, still in Roman's shirt but this time she had her leggings on, which Seth was grateful for. That was not something he had intended on interrupting, and he would have felt bad if it hadn't been for all those times Roman had joined in on the teasing with his teammates. Payback.

"So I can tell your morning was pretty good." Seth stated, making Sloane flush as she grabbed the eggs from the fridge.

"You good with scrambled? It's about the only eggs I can cook." Sloane asked them both, glancing over her shoulder at them. They both nodded so she searched for all the needed tools, Roman telling her where things were if she couldn't find them herself.

He and Seth got into 'game mode' and she had no idea what they were talking about so she tuned them out for the most part as she cooked. She plated their breakfast and they all sat down to eat, between bites she curiously asked, "What time is your practice?"

Seth glanced at his watch and told her, "Half an hour."

"We should probably get going." Roman stated, glancing at their empty plates. Sloane got up and started cleaning the mess, he took her arm in his hand and told her, "Don't worry about it, I'll get it later."

"It'll only take a minute." She told him, raising her eyebrow when he wouldn't let her move.

"Cook doesn't clean where I'm from." He told her with a smile.

She disappeared into his bedroom to get dressed, Roman following long enough to throw on a pair of jeans and a tshirt. Sloane pulled her hair up into a bun and swapped Roman's shirt for her bra and blouse before she joined them in the living room. Once they were ready they took the elevator down to the visitor parking lot, and Seth stood by his car busying himself on his phone as Roman walked Sloane to her car.

She pulled open her door and tossed her bag inside before turning to Roman. He leaned against the door, their bodies almost touching and Sloane looked up at him, squinting slightly from the sun and said, "See you later?"

He nodded slowly before he leaned down to capture her lips with his. His hand cradled the back of her head and the other pressed against her back and pulled her tightly against him. Sloane wrapped her arms around his neck and stood on her tip toes to try to get a better vantage point height wise. It made Roman smile against her lips.

Seth glanced over at them before he immediately looked away and wondered how long it took someone to say goodbye. He was sure he and Abby had never spent that long saying goodbye.

Finally, after what seemed like forever Sloane got into her car and pulled out of the parking lot and Roman made his way back over to Seth to get into his car. Sloane glanced in the rear view to watch Roman walk toward Seth again and smiled as she pulled into traffic and headed to her own place.

The twenty minute drive went by quicker than usual as she sang along to a few songs on her phone and when she pulled into her spot at her apartment complex she groaned to find Kim's car in her spot. She was hoping she could avoid the whole thing that Kim would turn this into at least for a few hours.

When she walked into the apartment Kim was nowhere in sight so Sloane made a beeline to her bedroom, only to jump upon finding Kim sitting on her bed reading a magazine.

"You are aware that this is my room right?" Sloane asked as she tossed her bag onto her desk.

Kim, barely looking up from her magazine, told her, "Last night's clothes… hmm."

"Sorry?"

Kim rolled her eyes and tossed the magazine onto Sloane's nightstand, "You didn't come home last night, and you're wearing yesterday's clothes. Have a nice sleep over?"

"Yes actually it was very nice." Sloane stated with a shrug, not even bothering to leave the room as she changed out of her clothes and into a pair of shorts and a tshirt.

Kim muttered, "It's totally wrong that you have the body you have and you don't even work out."

Sloane grinned and shrugged before she hopped onto the bed, shuffling around until she could pull the covers over herself. She turned to Kim and asked, "You gonna lay down or just be annoying?"

Kim let out a loud sigh and scooted down to lay beside Sloane before she asked, "So…how was it?"

Sloane shrugged and told her, "Fine."

A hand reached over and slapped her hard across the stomach, "Fine?! Sloane I want details. Real fucking details."

"Don't you have your own boyfriend to bang?" Sloane asked her curiously.

Kim scoffed and narrowed her eyes, "Colin won't have sex on a game day, or right after road trips. I need to live vicariously through you."

"Well… if you must know it was… I mean I didn't know... I just... yeah." Sloane was at a loss for words trying to tell Kim about her night.

Kim rolled her eyes, "I hate you. Clearly it was the best sex of your life."

"He's also like a furnace. I was so warm all night." Sloane stated, making Kim groan.

"I'll bet you were."

"I was. It was like cuddling a space heater." Sloane told her with a grin, making Kim narrow her eyes at her and give her a shove.

"If he was so nice to sleep with why are you so exhausted?" Kim asked her with a raised eyebrow and when Sloane's face flushed Kim grinned, hit her arm and asked, "What time did you guys go to sleep?"

"I don't know. Three ish?"

Kim blanked before she had to pick up her jaw from the floor and ask, "He cannot have that good of stamina. I mean how often were you two… yenno?"

"Aside from a little bit in the afternoon and a dinner break we didn't really leave his bed." Sloane told her, laughing when Kim threw her head onto the pillow and groaned.

"I. Hate. You."

Sloane pulled the covers up to her chin and told Kim, "You'll get over it."

"So… is it safe to say Roman has ruined you for other men now?" Kim asked her curiously, watching as Sloane pursed her lips in thought for a few moments.

"That is probably safe to assume yes." Sloane told her, a big yawn taking over her features before she rolled onto her stomach to get more comfortable to try to have a nap.

Kim ran her hands through Sloane's hair and said, "Poor baby, did your hot boy toy tire you out all night?"

Sloane nodded and said, "Night."

"Night my sweet little slut."

"Rude!" Sloane called out as Kim left her room with a laugh.

She moved around to get more comfortable again, finding comfort in the middle of the bed with the comforter tucked in on each side of her. She heard the front door close and she knew Kim was gone, probably on her way to work, and she decided if she was going to get any sleep in it would have to be now.

An hour and a half later Sloane woke up to a quiet house, she was nice and warm under her blanket and had no wish to move. So she grabbed her phone from the nightstand and turned it on, finding a few texts from Kim about tonight's dinner and one from Roman asking if she wanted to do dinner tomorrow night.

She couldn't help but take a picture of herself, tired face, bed head and wrapped up in blankets. She sent it to him with the caption This is what you've done to me.

No less than five minutes later a picture came through to her phone of Roman working out, covered in sweat and his reply was This is what you've done to me. So we're even.

Sloane couldn't help but grin at that, pulling the blankets up even further over her head as she replied quickly to him to say she wasn't sorry and she was on for dinner tomorrow. After a couple texts of witty banter back and forth Sloane's stomach rumbled an interuption. Finally she pushed the covers from herself, stopping at her closet only long enough to pull a sweater over herself, sliding her phone into her pocket as she went in search for something to eat.

As she filled a glass with juice and grabbed a bowl of doritos her phone buzzed again, this time with a FaceTime call. She hit accept as she dropped onto the couch, covering herself with two blankets, one across her lap and the other over her shoulders. She turned the TV on, finding a talk show to watch as Roman got comfortable on his own couch in his apartment.

"So this dinner tomorrow…"

Sloane raised her eyebrow at him, "Yes?"

"Well I was gonna take you out but then I remembered you said you hate restaurants." Roman told her, glancing away from his phone for a second to look at whatever Sportsnet was showing. Sloane couldn't help but smile at the fact that he remembered something as little as that.

"Well how about I kick Kim out and you can come here. I'll cook you dinner." Sloane told him.

"You can cook?" Roman asked in surprise, making Sloane roll her eyes at him.

"Yes you jerk I can cook. Damn well too." She stated with narrowed eyes.

Roman chuckled at her response and told her, "Alright, alright I'm sorry for offending you. What are you gonna make?"

"That is classified information." Sloane told him, laughing when he stared at her in confusion. She simply told him, "Just bring your pretty face here for 7."

"What about groceries? I did ask you out, shouldn't I bring something?" Sloane smiled at this and Roman raised his eyebrow at her smile.

She shook her head at him and told him, "I told you, just bring your cute self. That's all I need."

Roman grinned at her, "I can do that."
