Dolce Vita

It was 8 o'clock at night, Roman was laying on his couch with Seth on the other side watching TV when his phone buzzed. He glanced down, smiling at Sloane's name being displayed before he hit accept and lifted the phone to his ear, joking, "Isn't it a little early for a booty call?"

He could practically hear the eye roll as she said, "Funny. There's no power at my place, can I come over?"

"Are you asking me if you can sleep over?" He couldn't help but joke.

Seth turned and raised his eyebrow, asking rather loudly, "If you two are gonna have phone sex let me know so I can leave."

Roman heard Sloane let out a grumble, followed by a car door slamming shut before she told him, "I'll be there in twenty."

After saying goodbye Roman glanced at Seth and explained, "Power went out at her place."

"Oh so she's joining the 'nothing better to do but watch movies all night' Friday night plan?" Seth joked, making the two of them laugh.

Twenty minutes later the two of them couldn't help but laugh when Roman opened the door to let Sloane in. She was wearing a tshirt and a pair of spandex shorts and her hair was soaking wet, she narrowed her eyes at the two of them and grabbed a pillow from the couch to smack Seth in the face with when he asked, "Have a nice shower?"

Seth placed the pillow in his lap and told her, "That was uncalled for."

Sloane ignored him, went into the bathroom for a towel, before she dropped onto the couch between the two of them and started towel drying her hair. Roman tapped her thigh with his knuckles and asked, "You good with Contraband?"

Before she could answer Seth told her, "We can change it if you want."

"What are you kidding me? Mark Wahlberg is my relationship hall pass." She stated, making Seth laugh. Immediately she turned to Roman and told him, "Just so you know."

"Hall pass?"

She grinned, nodded and told him, "Yeah… you know, that one actor or actress that you hypothetically could sleep with free of relationship reprocautions."

"You only get one. Choose wisely." Seth told him with a grin.

"Uh… I don't know… that chick from The Green Lantern?" Roman asked, not entirely sure of the actresses name or why they were even having this conversation. When Seth nodded he asked, "Well who would yours be?"

"Kate Beckinsale." Seth stated with a shrug.

"Oh! Good choice." Sloane told him, making Roman laugh as she and Seth high fived. Curiously she asked Seth, "Say you're a chick. Who's your make hall pass?"

"I don't know… uh… Brad Pitt maybe?" He fumbled through that one, the question caught him off guard. When Sloane chuckled he asked, "Well say you're a guy, who's yours?"

"Oh that's easy. Kiele Sanchez." Sloane told him with a shrug of her shoulders as if it were the most obvious thing.

Seth pulled out his phone and Googled her before telling Sloane, "I could see it."

He tossed his phone to Roman, who couldn't help but chuckle before asking Sloane, "So you're into brunettes then?"

She shrugged, "If I was a guy probably. She's hot as hell."

"Good qualities. Hot, and hot." Seth stated, making Sloane turn to him in surprise and Roman chuckled. He couldn't help but chuckle awkwardly at her reaction and ask, "What?"

"I'm just… everyone talks about you like you're so innocent I wasn't expecting that." Sloane stated, still looking at him in surprise.

Before he could respond her phone started blaring from between them, "Looking like a tramp like a video vamp demolition woman can I be your man? Razzle 'n' dazzle 'n' flash a little light, television lover baby go all night."

Seth and Roman exchanged a look before Sloane picked up the phone and said, "Hi Kimberly."

There was a chuckle when they heard her start yelling on the other end and they stifled their laughter when Sloane placed the phone on her thigh and sat there patiently waiting until Kim stopped freaking out. After nearly a full minute Sloane put the phone back to her ear in time to say, "Yeah the powers out."

Roman was amused at the fact that Kim hadn't even noticed that Sloane wasn't listening. Sloane held the phone between her ear and her shoulder as she ran her fingers through her tangled, wet hair as Kim asked, "Well did the hydro place say why?"

"Yeah… the power gets cut off when you don't pay the electricity bill Kimberly." Sloane stated, making Roman and Seth chuckle.

"It was not due!"

"It was but hey I'm just glad it's not my credit you're ruining with never paying your bills." It was like going fishing in a lake full of fish. Sloane knew exactly how to push Kim's buttons and piss her off and she was far too good at it.

"You have awful credit too Sloane."

"Ah but not as bad as yours my friend." Sloane said with a grin, almost laughing when Kim went on another loud rant that both Roman and Seth could hear.

She finished her rant with, "Well where the hell am I gonna sleep tonight Sloane?"

"Well I'd say go to your boyfriends but…" Sloane stated, stretching her legs out over Roman's lap. He shook his head in amusement and put his hands on her ankles, pinching her skin gently making Sloane jump and push her toes into his stomach.

"I don't wanna talk about that jackass." Kim muttered, before telling Sloane, "I'm going to Abby's. Have fun with your not boyfriend, boyfriend."

Sloane rolled her eyes and hung up the phone, tossing it onto the other end of the couch before she told Seth, "You may as well not go to Abby's tonight. You definitely won't be getting any."

He raised his eyebrow at her, "Uh…okay?"

"Kimberly's there. She's calling Colin names so my guess is your poor girlfriend isn't gonna get any sleep tonight and not in a good way." Sloane told him.

"There's a good way to not sleep all night?" Seth asked her.

He wished he hadn't asked when she shrugged and told him nonchalantly, "Sex can totally replace sleep."

"Really?" Roman asked with a smirk that made Seth roll his eyes.

"You guys are disgusting." He stated with a shake of his head.

Sloane grinned at him, "See. Innocent."

By the time the credits were rolling on the movie Roman and Seth were both asleep on the couch and Sloane was starving. She got up carefully so not to wake the boys and went into the kitchen, only to find out that the fridge was nearly completely empty. She couldn't even make food out of what was in there or the 'pantry'. She glanced around, before she walked over to Roman and gave his shoulder a shake.

He practically jumped off the couch, and after letting him catch his breath Sloane informed him, "I'm ordering pizza. I'm starving and you have no food."

Roman reached over and nudged Seth awake, telling him, "We're ordering pizza."

"I'm starving and your teammate clearly lives off Gatorade." Sloane informed him as she grabbed her phone to order online.

Seth let out a deep, still half asleep chuckle and told Roman, "Told you that you should have gone grocery shopping with me."

Rolling his eyes Roman told him, "Like you go grocery shopping anyway. Your mom does."

"At least his fridge is stocked." Sloane muttered as she typed away on her phone. A few seconds later she looked at Roman and said, "We are gonna have to do something about this because I am a female who actually eats. How am I supposed to sleep over if I can't have a midnight snack every once in a while?"

"Your idea of a midnight snack is doritos Sloane. There's a convenience store like 2 minutes down the street." Roman stated, making Seth chuckle.

His chuckle turned into laughter when Sloane looked up at him like he had three heads and exclaimed, "You want me, a young, moderately good looking female, to walk to a convenience store for doritos at midnight?! What are you crazy?"

"You can't want them that bad then." Roman stated with a smirk, knowing he was pushing her buttons.

She hit order on the online menu, put her phone down and pointed her finger at him, "I wouldn't want them if you had them. You know Colin keeps doritos in his cupboard for me when I'm there."

"You sleep over at my teammates?" Roman asked with a raised eyebrow.

Rolling her eyes Sloane dropped onto the couch and told him, "No, but sometimes we have movie marathons there, and he always has doritos."

"Alright alright I'll buy you doritos next time I go shopping." Roman stated with a loud, dramatic sigh.

Seth chuckled as Sloane leaned over, kissed his cheek and said with a satisfied smile, "That's all I ask."

"Oh my god turn the lights off." Sloane muttered, pushing her face into the pillow as Roman turned his head to look at her.

They were laying in his bed, the curtains were shut, doors were closed, lights were off and it appeared the light she was talking about was his cell phone. He dropped it onto his chest and asked her, "You okay?"

"No. Massive migraine." She mumbled, pulling the covers up over her head.

Roman got up, leaving her alone in the bedroom, and Sloane felt her stomach twist. She shoved the covers off of herself and practically sprinted to the bathroom. She was leaning against the wall by the toilet when Roman stuck his head in the door and told her, "Excedrin?"

She nodded, flushed the toilet and pulled herself up off the floor, rinsing her mouth with mouthwash and flushing her face with water. When she walked into the bedroom again Roman handed her a glass of water and two pills, which she downed quickly before he pulled the covers back for her. She got into bed and he slid in the other side with her.

"What time do you want to get up?" Roman asked her, pulling his phone off the nightstand to set an alarm.

"Like an hour?" Sloane asked, and Roman set the alarm for an hour and a half before putting it back on the nightstand. He reached out and put his hand on her back and she mumbled, "Thank you."

Two hours later Sloane was still asleep, and Roman was at practice. He couldn't bring himself to wake her up so when his alarm went off he shut it off and gathered his things, leaving her a note to say where he was. He wondered, as he sat in his stall, still in his equipment at the end of practice if she was still asleep or not.

"You coming out tonight?" Roman turned his attention to Gabriel, but his eyes drifted over to Colin, who was watching him with amusement, probably already knowing his answer.

"Nah I'm good."

"Come on dude you haven't been out in weeks!" Someone, he wasn't sure who, exclaimed.

Shea let out a chuckle and told them, "He's got a girlfriend. Leave him alone."

"Aye aye captain." There was a visible eye roll from Shea to this.

Roman glanced at Colin, debating on whether or not to ask in front of everyone or to wait until they were alone. Colin caught his eyes and groaned before saying, "I'm assuming you know about Kim."

Roman nodded, "Yeah she has some interesting words to describe you right now."

"Go figure." He muttered, pushing his hand through his hair before telling Roman, "It's nothing really."

Roman again nodded as the rest of the guys glanced around in confusion. Finally Rich asked, "Wait you broke up with Kim?"

"Yeah."

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Rich exclaimed, looking at Colin as if he had three heads. When Colin raised his eyebrow at him Rich explained, "One; everyone liked her. Two; why would you break up with a red head?"

Colin rolled his eyes but didn't respond. Roman pulled his phone out of his ssester pocket as it buzzed and opened up Sloane's text. Hurry home, I want to try this headache cure I read online but it requires two people.

He couldn't help but grin as he typed out a quick response telling her he would be home soon. Seth glanced at him and asked, "Sloane feeling better?"

"I think so." He said, putting it back before he began to pull his equipment off so he could shower.

Once he was clean and dressed and ready to go Rich grinned and called out, "Got a hot date that you're running out of here for?"

"You could say that." Roman stated, grabbing his keys before he took off out of the locker room and to his car.

He stopped at the store down the street from him and grabbed doritos before he made his way to his apartment. Sloane was still in bed when he walked into his bedroom, and she let out a chuckle as he yanked his shirt and sweater off at the same time, practically tossing his jeans across the room before he hopped onto the bed beside her.

He quickly informed her, "I got you doritos. Just in case."

"Oh my god you're my favorite human." Sloane stated, curling into his side. She slid her leg between his, and smiled when his arm wrapped around her and his hand pressed into her hip.

"Feeling better?" Roman asked her, noticing that one of the curtains was cracked open across from them.

Sloane nodded and adjusted the pillow so it was against his shoulder and under her head before telling him, "Much. Thanks for letting me sleep."

"No problem." He told her, rubbing his hand gently against her hip, slipping it just underneath her shirt to rest against her warm skin. Curiously he asked, "So what's the plan for today?"

"Mmm… lay in bed for a little bit longer and then…maybe go out and do something in the real world?" Sloane asked him, giggling when he sent her a look of surprise.

"You want to venture out into the real world? Are you sure you're feeling better?" He asked, putting the back of his hand on her forehead to check her temperature.

She let out a laugh as he did this, which morphed into a bit of a surprised squeal when he pulled her tightly into him and wrapped his arms around her. She leaned up and kissed him quickly before saying, "But I do think we should test out this theory to get rid of the rest of my headache."

Roman smirked at her, "Oh yeah?"

"Mmhmm." Sloane stated, leaning up again to kiss him softly. His grip loosened only a bit, and she smiled against his lips as his hand drifted down to her butt, giving it a squeeze.

"Your wish... my command." He told her with a smirk as they parted and he rolled them over so that he was hovering over her. Sloane let out a laugh that he silenced with his lips and she slid her palms up his side and around to his back, pushing the pads of her fingers into his muscle.

She might just be falling for this guy after all.
