Immortality Unwished For

When your past catches up with you.

Knock Knock

Ella was the Cullens house, it was Sunday night and it was freezing cold.

The door opened and Esme was there.

"Hello, Ella." She smiled.

Ella returned it. "You remember me." She sounded surprised.

"Of course, you leave quite a first impression." She winked at the end. "Are you here to see Edward?"

"Yeah. Is he asleep or something?"

Esme couldn't help but to let out a chuckle which made Ella confused.

"I'm sure he's awake." Esme assured.

[Edward, Ella's here for you.] Esme said.

[Coming.] Edward answered.

Then like on cue, Edward was at the top of the stairs.

"Ah, speak of the devil and he shall appear." Ella smirked.

Edward smiled crockedly.

"What do I owe such a lovely honor?" Edward asked.

"Well, remember you said you wanted to buy my piano?" Ella felt weird talking about this.

"Of course. Do you need the money now?" Edward asked.

"Well, not right now, but by tomorrow would be wodnerful." Ella bit her bottom lip in shame.

"Why are you ashamed?" Edward asked.

"I feel weird not telling you why I need this money so deparately." Ella admitted.

"Whenever you're ready to talk, Ella, I'm here for you." Edward said, he opened his arms for her and she embraced him by his waist because she was so small it was all she could reach.

"Thanks. But I want to tell you, so you don't think something really bad or... something..." Ella mumbled.

"Let's take a seat." Edward gestured towards the living room. They took a seat on the long couch.

Ella turned her body to Edward and Edward looked at her expression.

"Um... back home... I had it difficult. I got into some bad shit... some really bad shit. Like I said... I think... I was doing cocaine, herion and MJ. At one punk/rock concert I met this gorgeous guy named... Jason. He was a real charmer and most of all he provided the drugs. I was sixteen... I know not too long ago. Then he started asking for money and I was a druggie so I had to start selling drugs. Not too long ago I had a package taken away from the cops... thankfully I wasn't caught." Ella stopped to at Edward, but his expression was "understanding".

"Why did you stop?" Edward asked.

"You don't look surprised." Ella said.

"Should I be?" Edward raised an eyebrow.

"Are you kidding?! If I would tell Bella this she would go beserk and start asking so many questions I would want to kill her." Ella's voice rose a little.

"Hey, I'm just here to hear you... not judge you." Edward said.

This calmed Ella down.

"Thanks Edward, you're a good friend." Ella leaned over and hugged him.

Edward didn't know what to do at first but returned the hug. She pulled out, her eyes threatened to tear up.

"Well... Jason got pissed and said I owed him... fifteen thousand dollars. He called me less than a week ago claiming his money... that's why I'm selling my stuff." Ella looked away as she sniffled. "Ugh! I don't know why I get so worked up about this."

"You're human." Edward stated.

Ella couldn't help but to let out a snort. Her eyes landed on Edward's piano.

"Do you mind if I play a little?" Ella asked.

"Not at all. I would actually like to hear you play." Edward said.

"Cool. It can be your brithday present... wait when's your birthday?" Ella asked.

"June 20th." Edward said.

"I'm September 16th. That's two days before Bella, so for two days I'm older than her." Ella said as she walked over to the other room where the piano was. She took a seat on the small bench and Edward leaned on the piano standing up.

Ella took off her huge jacket and she showed her Gir tank top.

"That's all you're wearing, no wonder you're freezing." Edward chuckled.

Ella shrugged.

She placed her fingers on the ivory keys and an electrical shock went through her body. She played some random notes with her eyes closed.

Edward looked at Ella's hand move back and forth on the piano keys, she was natural, she didn't even try and notes would come out.

Then Edward noticed Ella was now playing something.

She started to hum some song and Edward thought he recognized the song. She wasn't a bad singer but she wasn't Mariah Carey either.

"I'm so tired of being here, surpressed by all my childish fear and if you have to leave I wish that you would just leave cause your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone these wounds won't seem to heal this pain is jus too real theres just too much that time can not erase when you cried I'd wipe all of your tears when you screamed I'd fight away all of your fear and I've held your hand through all of these years but you still have all of me.... you used to captivate me by your resimating light now bound by the life you left behind your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams your voice is chased away all said is here in me..."

Ella needed to stop her hands were shaking madly. She held them together.

Edward's eyes fell on her wrist and his eyes widened. There on her wrist were scars of mutliple wounds... suicide?

"Ella, what are those?" Edward sounded demanding.

Ella quickly looked down at her wrist, her suicide atempt after the car accident where she killed her boyfriend. She quickly shot straight up from her seat and got her jacket and ran to the exit door.

But Edward wasn't going to let this slide, he needed to know.

"Ella!" He called for her, but she was opening the door.

Edward was then close enough to close the door before she got the chance to even open it.

Ella yelped in surprise.

"How did you get here so fast?" She asked.

The last thing on Edward's mind was her finding out what he was.

"Your scars." Edward demanded pointing at her wrist.

Ella held them to her chest protectively.

"None of your business, Cullen." Ella hissed.

"Now, I'm 'Cullen'?" Edward asked.

"Just let me go." Ella asked.

"What happened to you?" He sort of shouted, this scared Ella and Edward saw fear in her.

"Edward!" Hissed Carlisle from the top of the stairs.

Ella used this distraction to open the door and went out of the house. She started to run towards the path, she needed to get to the woods so she could use her inhuman speed.

"Ella!" Ella recognized the voice as Jasper, but she didn't look back.

Ella already told one secret to Edward any more and then she would have to tell him that she got raped and turned into a creature of the night.

*~*

Ella yawned and stretched as she woke up, not that she had much sleep. Ever since she was "turned" she would sleep less and less. But being a vampire hadn't stopped her appetite. She changed into some jeans and a Metallica shirt. She let her hair down and around her shoulders. Ella went over to her window and moved the curtains.

"Ah!" She yelped as the sun hit her skin. When she recovered she looked at herself and saw her skin glow like dimonds. "Damn." She muttered.

[How am I suppose to get the money from Edward now?] She thought. She closed the curtains and started to pace up and down her room.

Knock Knock

Bella peeked her head in.

"Ella?" She called.

"Yeah?" Ella said absently.

"Aren't you going to school?" Bella asked.

"Um... I don't think so. I don't feel good. I think I'll stay home today." Ella said getting as far away from the window.

Bella raised an eyebrow in suspicion.

"I'll bring your homework for you." Bella said.

"Thanks." Ella said.

"You're welcome." She smiled.

"I also mean about not asking question as to why I'm not going." Ella said.

"No problem, it's your business." Bella shrugged.

"Yeah... my business." Ella whispered, Bella closed the door of the bedroom and Ella slumped down onto her bed.

She couldn't go outside in daylight without shining. Good thing there wasn't a lot of shiny days in Forks, back home it was a huge problem since it was bright and sunny most of the time.

Ella sat up straight from the bed. She heard the roar of the truck and confused she went to the window and peeked outside a bit. Bella was going in her truck.

[Where's Edward?] Ella thought. She shrugged and move the thought of her mind, she still felt guilty for leaving Edward like that.

"I can't just let him know I was suicidal." Ella said to herself.

[But he deserves an explination.]

"It doesn't have to be now." Ella retored to herself.

*~*

Ding Dong

Ella stopped playing her guitar, she was still working on a song and she was almost done with it.

[I should really start a band. I'll ask around school.] Ella thought as she went down stairs.

She didn't bother looking through the hole and just opened the door.

"Hello babe." Jason said.

Ella rolled her eyes.

"What are you doing here?" Ella hissed.

Jason pushed the rest of the door opened, shoving Ella in the process, almost knocking her off her feet. She glared at Jason. Jason looked around the place with disapproving look, he shrugged and turned to Ella. A smirk appear on his face as he eyed her from head to toe. Ella was wearing short-shorts and a tank top. Ella suddenly felt exposed and hugged herself.

"Get the hell out!" Ella roared pointing outside the house.

Jason smirk grew wider and he approached Ella. Ella couldn't move, for some reason he had some kind of power over her that she couldn't control. Jason was a lot taller than Ella and he towered over her like a predator stalking his prey. He snaked his arms around Ella's waist and pulled her close to him. Ella tried to struggle out of the grip.

"Let go." Ella said, she was starting to remember the night when she was raped. Jason leaned down placed kisses on her neck. "Please stop." She begged.
