Toby Cavanaugh saved me and I love him dearly.
It was my junior year of high school.
Dan was new the school I was showing him around. We started dating and I was happy.
This took a turn for the worse when Dan thought I was spending too much time with Toby.
We had nasty arguments about it. From then on Toby abused me.
It might sound crazy but loosing Toby was more painful then being beat up by my boyfriend.
Dan won’t let me break up with him.
I was to tell no one about our relationship. The only thing they knew was I was madly in love with Dan and he loved me back.
Dan forced me to do everything he wanted except dump Toby.
I was sitting on a park bench one summer after noon.
Dan was out of town for a week giving me some space.
“Hey Kim,” Toby said hugging me.
Pain shot threw me but I repressed it and smiled. “Hey,”
“What’s up?” he asked sitting next to me.
“Nothing, just enjoying the view,” I said.
“Why are you wearing a jacket it’s hella hot,” he said as he took off my jacket.
Before I could stop him my jacket was off and my bare, black and blue arms were showing.
“Who did this?” Toby’s voice was so scary. I’ve never seen this side of him.
“No one,”
“Don’t lie to me Kimberly,”
“Dan,” I whispered.
“I’m going to kill him,” he said standing up.
“No, don’t. he’s not in town and I’ll only get it twice as bad,”
“This isn’t right,” he said.
“I know,” I said sobbing.
Toby held me in his arms and kissed me.
It was a nice little kiss but held so much passion behind it.
“I love you and I’ll do anything to see you safe again,” he whispered in my ear before getting up.
When Dan got back Toby talked to him.
Dan abused me once again for telling and told everyone that Toby was a monster.
He was hated by everyone.
A year passed and Dan and I were still together.
Toby finally lost it one day and beat the crap out of the Dan and told the police that Dan was abusing me.
I showed them the new bruises and they believed Toby.
Toby was loved by everyone, including me. Dan was thrown in jail and I never saw him again.
Years later Toby and I got married and had three beautiful kids.
I love Toby Cavanaugh.
