I Guess You Can Call These...

Dear Channing

For: Cjwilsongirl

Channing and I were next to each other.
Our sweaty bodies cuddled together.
I kissed him and he held me tight. “I love you,” I whispered against his lips.
“I love you too, Kaia,” he said kissing me again.
I smiled and hugged his bare waist and he hugged mine.
“Don’t leave me,” I whispered against his chest.
“I’ll be back before you know it,”
I tried to hold back the tears.
Channing was going to Iraq due to the war.
I always fear that he wasn’t going to come back.
Channing slowly rolled on top of me and wiped away my tears.
“I’ll be fine. Promise,” he said before kissing me and slowly pushing himself in.
I pulled him closer to me and hugged his neck as we kissed.
He moved the kiss down to my neck as he moved his hips faster.
He placed his mouth on mine again and I smiled.
“I love you,” he whispered.
“Come home quickly”.

Months later I found out that I was pregnant with Channing’s baby.
He was away at war, but he knew all about her.
I wrote him daily and he wrote back, telling me that he was fine and couldn’t wait to be in my arms.
I went into the labor and gave birth to healthy baby girl, named Kaylie. Channing and I both picked out the name.
She looked like him.
A year went by and Kaylie and I were managing.
I found a job as a waitress as I worked on my novel.
Channing was still in Iraq, he was fine. So he said.
A year later I got a letter from Channing saying that he had been badly injured and was coming home.
Tears came to my eyes.
He was coming home, but he was injured.
How bad was it?
I wrote him back and a day or two later he replied.
He had been badly shot in the leg and was taking out of the war.
He said that he should be home in a month.
I told Kaylie that her daddy was coming home and she smiled.
I think she understood me.
Channing and I continued to write to each other. I read Kaylie the letters from her father and she smiled.
He never told us when he was coming home.
I had put Kaylie down for a nap and I went to my office to write.
The front door opened and my heart skipped a beat.
“Channing!” I called running to the door.
And there he was.
As handsome as ever.
Tears rolled down my cheek as I ran to him.
I hugged him tightly and he wrapped his arms around me.
We pulled back enough to give each other a love filled kiss.
“I love you so much!” I said.
He grinned. “I love you more,”
I shook my head.
“Daddy?” Kaylie called.
The tears came again as Channing looked up stairs.
I led him to her room and he smiled down at her.
“Daddy?”
“Kaylie,” Channing said picking her up and kissing her.
Kaylie held on to her father tightly with a grin on her face.

Months later Channing and I got married.
He quite the army and got a job as a professor.
I finally finished my novel and it did really well.
They’re planning on making it a movie.
Channing and I are expecting another baby and Kaylie was expecting a baby brother.
This was the happy ending I wanted.
