The Sack of Rome
Trying to survive in Rome, the year 410, is nearly impossible. Our city is surrounded by our enemy, the Visigoths, therefore no food is coming into the city. I've lost my young sister, Claire, two weeks ago. She died of starvation.
People are starting to buy the dead in the Colosseum, because they are so hungry. Father has left to get enough for the family. Instead of putting Claire's body with the rest, waiting to be eaten, we've kept it hidden in her room, no one daring to look at her lifeless body.
I have heard our leaders speak of opening the gates to our enemies.
I find it hard to believe this could get worse... But i fear it will.
