Don’t Let Me Let You Go

84: You Make It Look Easy

Tucking the last pin into her hair, Viola smiled at her reflection, pleased with how she looked. It was her turn, after Iker’s bachelor party the day before, Viola was due to head out with her bridal party for day that Pilar had planned, and she was a little excited at the prospect. A girly day was not something she had enjoyed for a little while and she was excited to see what her friends had come up with, even if they had had to abide by the rules that she and Iker had agreed, she was excited to see what they’d come up with.

“You’re sure that I can’t convince you to ditch it?”

Viola shook her head, her blue eyes peeking at Iker via the mirror. “You had your day” she countered, brushing a few stray hairs out of her eyes.

“I went and played golf” Iker noted “I highly doubt that Pilar has something similar in mind” he added.

“Perhaps not” Viola mused “But I won’t know until I go and I intend to find out. You had your turn and it’s only fair that I get the same thing” she noted gently.

Iker sighed a little.

“What do you really think is going to happen?” Viola commented as she padded towards the end of the bed, collecting the over shirt she had opted to wear.

“I don’t know” Iker shrugged “But Sergio seems to think that Pilar intends on taking you out to a club this evening and that’s not something which sits well with me. You’re a pretty girl, Lala, and the notion of a bunch of men I don’t know leering over you…”

“Iker, you do know that I intend to marry you in two weeks, right?” Viola interjected.

“Yes” Iker noted.

“And that I am more than capable of keeping my hands to myself?” she posed, slipping her feet into her shoes.

“Yes” Iker sighed.

“Then relax, mi amor” Viola mused as she pushed herself back to her feet “I will be with Pilar and Amelia, and all of the others, and I promise, they’ll take care of me” she insisted.

Iker nodded. “I am sure that they will” he confirmed softly.

Viola offered him a small smile before she pushed herself up onto her toes, pressing a gentle kiss against his lips. “I’ll see you tonight?” she posed, her fingers gently messing with the hair at the back of his neck.

Iker nodded. “I am fairly certain that I’ll be up when you get back” he mused.

“You don’t have to wait up for me” Viola smiled.

“I know” Iker noted “But that doesn’t mean I won’t. I’d like to make sure that you come back in one piece” he mused as he leant down, kissing the top of her softly.

Viola smiled at the small affectionate action and wrapped her arms around his middle, cuddling into him for a moment before a tap at the door echoed, causing her to tug back a little, her blue eyes landing on Pilar who grinned at her. “You ready, Viola?” she posed.

“I am” Viola grinned “Adios, mi amor” she noted, pressing a kiss to Iker’s cheek.

Iker offered her a small smile before he turned his attention to Pilar. “You look after her” he noted.

Pilar grinned. “I assure you, Iker, I will bring her back in one piece” she mused before she seized Viola’s hand, gently tugging the blonde from the room.

Iker watched after the two women before he quietly shook his head. He wanted Viola to enjoy herself, she deserved a night to herself, but the idea of her in club wasn’t one that sat well with him. He was well aware of just how attractive she was and the notion of her being hit on, especially when he wasn’t there, was something which made his stomach turn.

“You’re supposed to put this on” Pilar grinned as she pulled something out of her bag, handing it towards Viola who stood in front of the mirror, straightening the dress that her friends had bought for her, especially for that night. It had been a nice day, Pilar and the others bridesmaids had arranged a spa day for Viola which she had enjoyed greatly, but she was equally looking forwards to the night ahead of her. It had never been something she had loved, the idea of drinks and dancing, but she found herself a little excited at the idea. It had been a while since she had had a night which was completely for herself and she was intent on enjoying it.

“What is it?” Viola commented.

Pilar grinned. “It was your sister’s idea” she noted as she placed it in Viola’s hand, allowing the blonde to unfurl it, a small laugh falling out of her mouth.

“Seriously?” Viola posed as she held up the Spanish National team football shirt.

“I think Iker may have had a hand in it, but we thought it was sweet” Pilar enthused “You should turn it around” she added.

Viola offered her a slight frown before she flipped the shirt over, smiling a little at the name that had been placed on the back. “Mrs Casillas?” she posed.

“It’s who you are” Pilar shrugged “And besides, Mrs Casillas to be was too many letters” she added.

Viola smiled a little before she pulled the shirt on over her head, something which made Pilar grin. “I still can’t quite wrap my head around the idea that this is your wedding we’re gearing up to, Lala” she noted gently. It felt a little funny, the idea that Viola was the one getting married, and Pilar was still a little in awe of the idea. It didn’t seem that long ago that Viola had asked her to set her up on a blind date.

Viola, who’d moved to slip her feet into a pair of heels, smiled. “It is a little strange, isn’t it?” she posed.

“It is” Pilar agreed “But you and Iker…I envy you” she mused.

“You do?” Viola quipped.

“It seems so easy for you two” Pilar shrugged “Don’t get me wrong, I love Sergio and I know he loves me, but when you watch you and Iker, it’s just so effortless” she enthused.

“It is the furthest thing from effortless” Viola quipped.

“You make it seem that way” Pilar mused as she handed Viola’s bag to her “And you have no idea how proud I am that I got to play a role in helping you two get it together. I had no idea that you’d get this far after that disaster of a first date” she enthused warmly.

Viola shook her head. “I didn’t either” she murmured “In fact, after that night, I didn’t want to see him again, but the phone call he made afterwards…I think I knew then that he was something” she enthused.

Pilar admired the warm look on Viola’s face before she stepped towards her, grabbing her hand. “Can we save the crying until the big day?” she posed “We’ve got a bar to get to and a load of drinks to enjoy before I can safely return you to that lovely fiancé of yours” she enthused.

Viola giggled and nodded her head, wiping her eyes softly. “You know, I am going to do a lot of crying on the day” she teased, wrapping her arm around Pilar’s.

Pilar rolled her eyes. “You’re not the only one” she mused.

Resting against the side of his car, Iker smiled a little to himself, his dark eyes watched as Pilar and Amelia helped Viola out onto the sidewalk. It was late, Iker had been tucked up safely in bed when he had gotten Aurelia’s call, but he was glad that they had woken him up. The last thing he would have wanted was for Viola, who was clearly a little worse for wear, to get into a taxi.

“Iker!” Viola squeaked.

“Viola” Iker replied, pushing himself forwards “You look like you had fun” he added.

“I did” Viola hiccupped before she fell into a fit of giggles.

Iker shook his head softly, smiling a little to himself before he flicked his attention to Pilar. “She’s had a few?” he posed.

“Your fiancée had the entire bar buying drinks for her” Pilar replied.

Iker frowned. “Guys?” he posed.

“More than a few, but believe me, she left them in no doubt that she was taken. You have nothing to be concerned about” she enthused.

Iker nodded his head. “She looks like she had a wonderful time” he mused, his arm protectively wrapping around Viola’s waist to stop her wandering off.

“I think did” Pilar enthused “She loved the spa day and seemed in her element tonight, even if she did have a few too many, I think she had a good time” she grinned.

“Thank you” Iker noted “For doing this for her” he added.

Pilar shook her head. “I loved doing it and I can’t wait for the big day itself, something I know Lala shares in. She spent the whole night cooing over you, you know” she grinned, earning a small blush on the keeper’s cheeks. “Buenos noches, Iker” she grinned as she pressed a kiss to his cheek, leading the other women towards the cars that waited for them.

Iker watched her go before he turned his attention back towards the blonde who stood at his side, a tipsy smile on her face. “You’re going to be so hungover tomorrow” he teased, brushing the hair out of her face.

Viola merely giggled, something which made him shake his head. “I ought to get you home” he murmured softly “Do you think you can get into the car by yourself?” he posed.

Viola nodded her head and took a couple of wobbly steps, something which made Iker step towards her, lifting her off of her feet with ease. “You want my help?” he mused.

“I do” Viola nodded “My hero” she added, giggling to herself.

Iker rolled his eyes and moved to sit her in the passenger seat, pulling the seatbelt around her.

“I love you” Viola babbled, grinning up at him tipsily.

Iker nodded his head. “I should think so” he teased “If not, I am spending a lot of money to be left stood at the altar” he added.

Viola shook her head. “Never” she insisted.

Iker nodded. “I’m glad” he mused “I love you too, Lala” he added before he pressed a kiss against the top of her head, pleased that she had enjoyed herself.
