Lucy’s POV- New Years Ever 2014
I walked down the stairs where the twins were waiting for me. I handed the money to Maia who put it into her purse.

“Will he be awake by the time we get back?”

“Maia, he’s jetlag” I told her.

She pouted.

“But I want to meet him and you refuse to let us in your room”

I smiled.

“Be patient, I promise you will like him” I said.

Nathan hummed making me look at him.

“What’s his name again?”

I smiled.

“I haven’t told you his name” I said.

He frowned.

“Go” I said.

“Fine, but I’m getting at least 6 wings”

I laughed.

“I know, I ordered enough” I said making him nod.

“Lucy!”

I turned to the twins.

“Come on go, your mom needs the stuff” I said.

Nate squeezed my shoulder as he walked by and turned to me.

“We’re going to the rink though, right? Before you head back to Nashville”

I nodded and he grabbed the car keys.

“We’ll be back soon”

I looked up as I heard footsteps.

“Drive safe”

Nate nodded and Maia waved as she followed him out. Once they were gone, Aunt Mel looked at me and smiled.

“How long is Mattias going to be asleep for?”

“I’ll go wake him” I said.

“Ask him if he’s hungry, there’s some leftover spaghetti and if he eats anything like Nate then he will eat it all”

I laughed and nodded before making my way upstairs. I made my way to my room and opened the bedroom door. I got on the bed and crawled over to him. He didn’t even stir when I cupped his cheek. I kissed his cheek making him shift and let out a deep breath.

“Good afternoon sleepyhead” I said pecking his lips.

Mattias was more asleep than he was awake at the moment so all I got was a light hum. I shook his arm and he made a face.

“Hey, come on you have to get up” I said as he shifted so he was lying on his back.

I pushed his hair back and smiled as he made a face but did not open his eyes.

“I know you’re tired but you must be starving” I said.

I laughed as his stomach growled.

“See, come on open those eyes” I said cupping his cheek.

I rubbed his cheek lightly and smiled as he opened his eyes.

“Hey” I said softly as he blinked slowly.

“What time is it?”

There is nothing sexier than a guy’s morning voice, well except the guy wearing a fitted suit.

“A bit past noon” I said.

He hummed and closed his eyes.

“I’m so comfy though”

I laughed and leaned down to peck his lips.

“Come on, you’re hungry and Aunt Mel is reheating some leftover spaghetti. If you thought my spaghetti was good, her’s is the best” I said.

He nodded and began moving his arms to stretch.

“I need to shower”

“Alright, when you’re out just come downstairs. No one is home just Aunt Mel” I said.

He turned on his side and smiled.

“Have I told you how beautiful you are?”

I smiled and shook my head. He grinned and nodded.

“Cause you’re so beautiful”

“You’re such a charmer” I said kissing his cheek and lips.

I got off of bed before he tried anything and turned to him.

“Come on now” I said.

He laughed and sat up.

“Just put on something casual for now” I said.

He nodded and I exited the room. I made my way down the stairs and smiled at Aunt Mel who was about to start decorating some cupcakes.

“I can do that if you want” I said.

“Yes please, you have steadier hands”

I laughed and she handed me the plastic bag.

“So does he want the spaghetti?”

“Yes he does” I said.

She nodded and made her way to the fridge.

“Is he showering?”

“Yea” I said as I began decorating the cupcakes.

She nodded and heated up the spaghetti.

“Your Uncle told me his name last night and I googled him. What a handsome young man”

I smiled and shrugged.

“Does he have his beard?”

I laughed and shook my head.

“No, he wanted to look nice” I said.

She smiled.

“Honey, he looks nice with it and probably without it”

I laughed and she shrugged.

“He’s a handsome young man, how old is he again?”

“24” I said.

She hummed and looked at me.

“His eyes top Alejandra’s”

Alex had the prettiest blue eyes.

“And I haven’t met him so I’ll probably just stare at him”

I shrugged and smiled.

“He’s used to me staring” I said.

She laughed.

“He’s so handsome”

I finished decorating the cupcakes and helped her take some out of the oven. I smiled when Mattias stepped into the kitchen. Aunt Mel smiled and made her way over as she dried her hands.

“Good afternoon Mattias, I’m Melissa her Aunt. It is so nice to meet you!”

Mattias nodded and let out a chuckle as she pulled him down into a hug. Once she let go of him she grabbed his face making me shake my head.

“You’re so handsome!”

I smiled as his cheeks began to tint up.

“Thank you, you are incredibly beautiful yourself”

She smiled and let go of his face.

“Sit down, while I get you your food. What would you like to drink? We have wine, soda, beer, orange juice, lemonade and water”

Mattias made his way over to the chair next to me and smiled.

“Lemonade would be great, thank you”

She nodded and Mattias looked at all the cupcakes.

“How many people are coming tonight?”

“Family friends” I said.

He nodded and sat down. He thanked Aunt Mel who handed him his food and made her way to the fridge.

“Lucy, how long has it been since the twins left?”

I smiled.

“I asked them to pick up something for me” I said.

Mattias glanced at me and I laughed at how stuffed his cheeks were.

“This is really good”

I nodded and rubbed his back.

“Wings?”

I smiled at Aunt Mel.

“Wings” I said nodding.

She laughed and shook her head.

“They don’t make them as good in Nashville” I said.

My phone vibrated and I looked at the screen.

“Nate said they’re on their way” I said.

She nodded and laughed as I showed them a picture of Nate and Maia in Nathan’s car.

“Who’s older?”

I looked at Mattias who took a sip of his drink.

“Maia is” I said.

He nodded.

“She doesn’t look older though. Nate grew like 5 inches and is probably over 6 feet” I said.

“So he’s adjusting to his height?”

I nodded and a howl was heard. Aunt Mel let out a sigh and shook her head as Lando howled again.

“He’s so dramatic”

I laughed and made my way to the sliding door. I slid the door open and rolled my eyes as Lando growled at Mattias.

“Lando” I scolded.

He looked at Mattias and began wagging his tail at Mattias.

“Be nice” I said to the Husky who whined and cocked his head.

He made his way over and sniffed Mattias’ knee.

“What a huge dog”

Aunt Mel nodded.

“You see how huge he is? He doesn’t think he’s that big. He thinks he’s a lap dog”

Mattias nodded and continued eating. He looked up when the front door opened and Lando bolted out of the room.

“Hey boy!”

Uncle Nick walked into the kitchen and smiled.

“Nice to see you again Mattias. Lucy, for you”

He handed me the box and made his way over to Aunt Mel. I set the box on the chair and looked at Lando who was growling at the box.

“Nothing is going to jump out right?” I asked Uncle Nick.

Uncle Nick laughed and shook his head.

“No”

I pulled the bow and opened the box. I gasped as a Kitten looked up at me.

“Oh my god!” I said picking it up.

Lando growled and Uncle Nick scolded him out of the room.

“You are so cute!” I said pressing the small kitten against my face.

Mattias chuckled as the kitten purred. He was a orange and white tabby kitten.

“Your aunt and I realized you get lonely in that huge apartment. Since you refuse to have a roommate and well Mattias himself is on the road most of the time I thought this little fella would keep you company”

I laughed and nodded.

“You’re the best” I told him as he pulled me into a hug.

“I want to get Angela a pet, but I feel like the dog or cat would eat the rat”

I laughed and shook my head. Angela’s roommate Benjamin had a pet rat named Kenzo.

“A rat?”

I looked at Mattias.

“Yea, Angela’s roommate has a pet rat. From what I know, he saved the rat from his roommate whow as going to kill it” I said.

Mattias made a face and I nodded.

“Exactly, I want to meet it though” I said.

He laughed and Uncle Nick looked at me.

“Are you planning a visit to Dallas?”

“If you’re all going then yes” I said adjusting the kitten in my arms.

I noticed he had a collar on, so I moved the collar to see he already had a nametag on. I laughed as I saw his collar was Star Wars Themed.

“You’re actually going to like his name”

I adjusted him in my arm and looked at the tag. I laughed and nodded at Uncle Nick who chuckled.

“Honey, whats his name?”

I looked at Aunt Mel.

“Boba Fett” I said.

She looked at Uncle Nick who grinned.

“Must everything relate to Star Wars?”

Uncle Nick nodded and smiled. Maia’s gasp was heard as she walked into the kitchen as she noticed the cat.

“Dad! You were supposed to wait for us to get here!”

She rushed over and her eyes widened as she saw Mattias eating Spaghetti next to me. Nate walked into the kitchen and put the bag on the counter.

“Here you go mom”

He handed the change to aunt Mel and turned to us.

“Nate”

He looked at Maia who pointed at Mattias who was looking at her slightly amused.

“No fucking way”

Uncle Nick frowned.

“Nathan”

Nate turned to Uncle Nick.

“Dad…Mattias Ekholm is sitting in our kitchen eating spaghetti leftovers…this is not normal”

Maia smiled and made her way over.

“Hi I’m Maia, Lucy’s cousin”

Mattias shook her hand and I smiled as Maia’s cheeks tinted up.

“Nice to meet you”

Maia nodded and Uncle Nick chuckled.

“Can I hold Boba?”

I handed the kitten over to Maia who cooed at it. Nate made his way over and smiled.

“Mattias, this is Nathan” I said

Mattias nodded slowly and smiled.

“Lucy tells me that you and your sister play hockey?”

Nate nodded.

“Yea, we both actually play defense”

Mattias nodded and they began talking. I turned to Uncle Nick who nodded slowly.

“Do you like your kitten?”

“I love it, thank you” I told him.

He nodded and smiled.

“No problem”

I looked at Mattias who was listening to something Aunt Mel was telling him. I’m pretty sure he felt me staring at me because he glanced at me and smiled as he looked back at Aunt Mel.

“I like him”

I looked at Uncle Nick and smiled. I like him too Uncle Nick.
