Mattias’ POV- January 2016
I took a sip of my drink and looked at Lucy who was eating her burrito. Her glasses sat neatly on her nose. She looked up and smiled at me.
“What?”
“I was thinking for the All-Star Break we can go somewhere nice and sunny” I told her.
She raised an eyebrow as she took a sip.
“We?”
I hummed and smiled at her.
“Maybe you can request those days off?” I asked her.
She nodded and reached for her purse to pull out her phone. I had a game the day after New Years against the Hurricanes, so I flew to North Carolina. It was Sunday afternoon and she had work tomorrow.
“When is the All Star Game exactly? I know there are flyers and signs all around town but I pay no attention to them. If they had your face on them, maybe I would give them a chance”
I chuckled.
“January 31st” I told her.
She nodded and looked at her phone.
“When does your break start?”
“Thursday” I told her.
“And you have to be back?”
“By Monday night” I said taking a bite of my burger.
She hummed and smiled.
“I can work something out”
I nodded.
“Where were you thinking?”
“Florida” I said.
She nodded.
“I can use a light tan”
I smiled and nodded at her.
“I can’t guarantee you, but most likely I will be there in Florida with you during the All Star Break”
I smiled and nodded.
“Sounds good” I told her.
She nodded and we continued eating. If I did not chicken out, by the time the All Star Break would be over Lucy would be engaged.
