Sister's Best Friend & Me

Sister's Best Friend & Me Chapter 3

My mom came home along with my dad and shortly after dinner was ready and we all came down stairs.
My mom was an okay cook. She had us all when she was really young, so she never really learned how to cook.
The dinner table had multiple conversations. I was talking to Sam while Penny, Molly and Lilly were talking, Peter was talking to Lain and my parents were talking to each other.
After dinner I drove everyone home.
Peter and Penny were the first to go, then Sam.
I walked her to her house and gave her a hug we kissed each others cheeks before saying good bye.
When I got to the car, Molly was in the front seat trying to find a new radio station.
She stopped when she heard a Dave Mathews song.
I smiled. “Good song,”
“I love this song,” she said as she danced along.
The drive to her house was quite. I didn’t talk and neither did she.
I reached her house and she smiled at me. “Thanks,”
“Yup,”
I watched get out of the car and walk to her house.
She opened her front door and waved to me.
I drove away and headed home.
******
The next day was the same.
I picked up everyone and drove them to school.
After school I dropped everyone home, except for Molly. Her parents were out of town for a while so she was sleeping over.
Molly does that a lot.
Lilly and Molly were talking about some dude as I drove. I turned the radio up to drown out their mindless chatter.
Once we got home the girls took over the living room and Liam and I escaped to our rooms.
There was a knock on my door and Lilly pocked her head in. “Hey, Daniel,” she smiled.
“Yes?” I asked.
“We want to go swimming,”
“Great,” I said.
“Mom said you need to watch us,”
I rolled my eyes. “You have to go swimming now?”
“Yes,” she said opening the door showing me her and Molly in their bikinis.
I sighed. “Give me two minutes,”
“Yes!” they said high fiving each other.
I walked over to them and closed my door. I pulled off my shirt and jeans, then pulled on my swim trunks.
I left my room and opened Liam’s door.
“What?” he asked taking out his ear phones.
“Want to go swimming?”
“Sure,”
“Cool,” I said closing his door.
I went down stairs and into the back yard.
The girls were sitting by the pool with their feet in the water.
“He’s so cute,” Lilly squealed.
“I know, I can’t believe he asked me,”
“My mom will let you,”
“Let you what?” I asked.
They looked over at me.
“Molly has a date with a cute guy from school,” Lilly said.
“Ah, let me guess, dinner and a movie?”
“No,” Molly blushed. “We’re going to the smoothie place,”
“Lame,” I said picking up Lilly and throwing her into the pool.
She screamed and hit the water with a big slash.
I laughed as she resurfaced.
“You’re a horrible brother,” she yelled.
I shrugged and jumped in.
Molly joined us.
I hung out by the edge of the pool as the girls and Liam splashed around.
We decided to play a game of chicken.
Lilly got on Liam shoulders and Molly got on mine.
We played three rounds of chicken and Molly and I won each time.
“Hey,” my dad said walking into the backyard.
“Hey,” we said.
“Lilly, I need you help with dinner and Liam it’s your night to set the table,”
“Ugh,” they sighed and got out of the pool.
I helped Molly off my shoulders.
“Can I stay in a little bit longer?” she asked floating on her back.
“Sure,” I said.
I watched Molly as she did laps around the pool.
“Want to race?” she asked me.
“Sure, ready to lose?”
“Are you?”
I swam over to her and smiled.
“Ready? Get set. Go!” she said and we started swimming.
Molly kept up with me the whole time.
I couldn’t pass her.
Once we got to the end I grabbed the wall and stopped.
“I win,” I smiled.
“No, you don’t,”
“But, I do,”
“No, it was a tie,”
“A tie?”
“Yeah,”
I laughed. “I won, get over it,”
“Whatever,” she said. She looked me in the eyes. “I want a rematch,”
“I’ll still win,” I said.
I didn’t realize how close our faces were to each other. She didn’t break eye contact with me the whole time. We just kind of stared at each other and smiling.
“Guys,” we jumped and looked at the door. Liam ran into the back yard. “Mom’s home,”
“Okay,” we said.
Molly climbed out of the pool and I followed her. We grabbed our towels and walked into the house.
