Ask the Angels

Chapter 6

An alarm woke Gaby up at 6am sharp. shifting to shut the alarm off, she almost fell off her bed, instead catching herself swiftly as she started off her day. Brushing her teeth and hair, putting on some light makeup along with her work clothes:
A white blouse, black pencil skirt, black blazer and black heels. She put her hair into a neat pony tail as she walked to her kitchen, making herself a cup of coffee. Checking her watch, her eyes widened as she noticed if she didn't get a move on, she would be late for work.
Almost running to her car, she jumped in; heading to Sandover Bridge & Iron Inc. where she worked as a secretary. After parking her car, a rather girly mini, she made her way into the building; greeting her colleagues as she went to sit at her desk.
After about ten minutes, Mr Smith. The director of Sales and Management in the company walked in, greeting Gaby with a smile,
"Good morning, Miss Reed" He said, walking past,
"Good morning, Mr. Smith" Gaby replied, a smile spread across her face.

Dean Smith after exchanging pleasantries with the secretary walked to his own office. His name printed in big letters on the door.
"All I wanna know is when are they gonna have another show like project runway? Man" He laughed down into his phone head set, as music played around him. Just as he finished, a man enters the office. "Mr Adler" Dean greeted with a smile,
"Dean" he said as he slapped him on the shoulder, "Good stuff"
"Good stuff?" Dean asked,
"Big things. Good stuff" Mr Adler answered.

After a long day at work, Dean entered the elevator, to come face to face with a man with shaggy brown hair and green eyes (much like his own). The man furiously staring at Dean, making him rather uncomfortable. The elevator doors opened again, Gaby stepping in. A clipboard in hand.
"Miss Reed" Dean smiled,
"Hello again, how was work?" She asked trying to ignore the look she was now getting from the other man in a lift,
"Do I know you two?" Sam asked suddenly,
"I don't think so" Dean answered uncomfortably, as Gaby laughed,
"Probably, I work at reception" she answered, Sam nodding slowly,
"Sorry- it's just, you both look really familiar..." Sam added as an afterthought,
"Save it for the health club, pal" Dean told him as the doors to the elevator opens and Dean gets out, gesturing for Gaby to do the same. Which she did,
"It was nice meeting you, Mr?"
"Wesson. Sam Wesson" he answered,
"Well bye Sam, I'm Gaby, by the way" She waved goodbye as she got dragged away by Dean.
Sam staring after the two of them.

The next day, Sam Wesson sat on a chair in an office cubical, talking into a head set; "Tech Support, this is Sam Wesson. Okay. Uh, well, did you try turning it off and then on?" He asked the person on the other end as he poked a vampire bobblehead with a pen, "Okay, go ahead and turn it off... No no no, just off- Alright, give it a second and turn it back on. Okay, is it printing now? Great. Anytime" he instructed before ending the call, taking off the headset, a man in the cubicle behind him rolls next to him; not wearing uniform.
"Hey" He said.

Meanwhile, on the first floor. Gaby sat on the phone, "Hello, this is Miss Reed, have you got an appointment? Yes- Well I'm sorry, Mr Adler isn't free till Tuesday, 12- Yes, well he is a very busy man. Well I can't help that, if you want I can ask to move it forward? Okay, well I'll be in touch Mr Wood" she said as she put down the phone rolling her eyes.
"Another complaint?" The voice of Gaby's assistant Molly sounded from the side,
"Next time, you're picking it up" She laughed.

"Yo" Sam replied to the man,
"What do you think of Mimi?" the man asked, Sam looked over with a shrug,
"She's okay"
"Might have to hit that" The man told him,
"Dude, that's totally age-inappropriate" Sam told him,
"Experience" The man shrugged Sam's comment off,
"Trifocals" Was Sam's reply,
"There's a MILF there, SAm. I just know it. Maybe a GMILF"
"Come on" Sam said in disgust with a laugh. Deciding to go on a coffee break, they turned to one of their co-workers, telling him it was time for a refill, but the only reply they got from the stressed man, rapidly tapping on his keyboard was:
"Working" When Sam stated that he looked stressed, his friend replied with,
"Freaked out because he got busted surfing porn on the internet" where he continued to explain that Paul was sent to HR the previous day.

Later that day, Sam and Dean where both in the elevator again, "Can I ask you a question?" Sam asked DEan,
"Look man, I told you. I'm not into the, uh-"
"Oh, dude, come on. I'm not either, I just wanna ask you a question. Plus it's obvious you like the Secretary"
"I-I do not" Dean stumbled, looking for an escape in the small box- there was none. "Just ask the question" He gave up,
"What do you think about ghosts?" Sam asked him.
"Ghosts?" Dean laughed,
"Do you believe in them?" He asked again, causing Dean to laugh once more,
"Uh, tell you the truth- I've never given much thought to it" He answered,
"Vampires?" Sam fired at him,
"What? Why?" Dean asked.
"Because I've been having some weird dreams lately. You know what I mean?" Sam answered, suggesting something, but Dean hadn't a clue.
"No. Not really" Dean answered,
"So you've never had any... Weird dreams?"
"All right, look, man. I don't know you, okay? But I'm gonna do a public service and uh- let you know that, that you overshare" Dean said as he pressed the button and left the elevator.

The next day, Gaby stood talking to a police officer as a body bag was rolled past. Last night, Paul from Tech died, suspected suicide. Used a microwave and blew his own head off. Dean walking up to her, "You okay?" He asked as she finished talking to them,
"Yeah it's just, you know. Never seen a dead body before. I just- Don't know why he would do it, you know?" She answered him, as they notice Sam, "I'm gonna go talk to Sam" Gaby said walking over,
"Be-be safe" Dean stuttered, causing her to laugh,
"He's not that weird" She laughed. Dean turned to another guy with a suit,
"Something about this seem not right to you?" He asked, the man looking at him in disgust,
"Uh, yeah- try the whole thing. I'm telling you, man. I'll never it popcorn again."
"Yeah, right" Dean dismissed.

"This is weird" Gaby heard Sam say to his friend Ian,
"You're telling me" She interrupted their conversation. "I know he was stressed, but this doesn't seem normal, especially- wasn't he meant to be retiring in two weeks?" She added,
"Exactly" Sam agreed. Both looking at the scene in front of them.

The next day, Sam noticed that Ian was being really weird. The usual carefree worker was stressing about the importance of a report he had to fill out. Not even pausing to talk to Sam. Only properly saying something when he said,
"Gotta go up to 22, speak to a manager".

"Hi, Ian, right?" Dean asked as the man nodded, "Yeah come in. Yesterday you filled out a 445-T and no problem, just a few errors when we did your switch over to Vista. So I'm sure you're used to filling out the dash-R's, am I right?" Dean explained, causing Ian to panic, "No no no, it's fine" Dean tried to calm him down, ""It's fine. I just need you to redo one today so I can get the show on the road with the invoicing" He said, pushing paper over the desk to him with a smile, while Ian looked terrified.
"Oh my God" He said,
"No, it's fine. Just refile it and we're square" Dean reasoned, not really understanding what the worry was about,
"I can't believe I did this" Ian mumbled in dismay, as Dean started to realize something was up, "I-I can't believe I did this"
"Hey guy. Come on" Dean tried, as he mumbled about losing sales and profit, "Ian, hey. Why don't you sit down. Ian?" Dean tried again as he ran pout the door. Dean following in speed.
Dean entered the bathroom where Ian was staring into a mirror, "Ian, hey. Just chill out, man. Okay?" Dean reasoned. Just as water came out of the taps and Deans breath became visible. The temperature dropping rapidly. "Ian, hey- maybe we should get out of here, huh? Come on. Ian- look at me" Dean tried to usher him away, with no response.
Just then, Ian turned towards Dean, pulling out a pencil from his pocket, staring at Dean he started to stab himself in the neck. Looking up for a fragment of a second, Dean swore he saw an old man in the mirror as Ian collapsed dead onto the floor. Dean shouting for help.

"No, I, I followed him into the bathroom" Dean explained to the officer. as Gaby and her assistant sat at there desks.
"That's the second suicide, and you're telling me that's not weird?" Gaby explained to her friend.
"No, I'm saying that it is weird." Molly said,
"So what do you think it is?"
"Maybe, the big mans doing job cuts behind our backs" Molly replied, Gaby rolled her eyes.
"I'm being serious. I mean what about that dream you were telling me about"
"Oh, please. It was just a cool dream, ghosts aren't real" Molly, shrugged just as Dean walked over,
"Can I see you in my office please?" Dean asked Gaby, "You-you can come too Miss Brown" He said referring to Molly. They both looked at each other, before following him up to his office.
