Chapter 8

I sat down gently on my bed and sent forth my spirit to find the female Pixie. My spell was more than successful and I was able to enter and exit her body now at will. The dumb insect never even realized I was there. I opened my eyes and could tell I was in a tent next to a sleeping male Pixie. I lifted my head and cautiously looked around, as I hoped the male continued to remain motionless. I rubbed my hands together in excitement and quietly sat up.
The moment I was in a sitting position I was immediately assailed by her scent. She had the scent of a pregnant Pixie. I took another deep breath and knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was already carrying babies. I stilled myself and attempted to connect with the souls of the infants. They easily moved aside and allowed me to climb inside of them. Sadly however the child’s soul immediately died. No matter to me though, if anyone suspected the female was possessed I would simply hop in another child while they checked. I was so excited I blurted out to
“Excellent”
I chuckled to myself and mentally patted my own back. I’d achieved the impossible. I possessed a Pixie and would have firsthand Seelie court access and no one would ever be the wiser. I must have chuckled to myself because the male turned over and pulled me closer to his body then he whispered in a clearly exhausted voice
“Sleep tonight Kayna. The teleportation spell to Levianhurst will be very fast but will also take a major toll on our bodies. Tomorrow we will be exhausted but unable to sleep. In fact the rush of the teleportation spell might keep us both awake for several days to come.”
I was surprised to hear that the Pixie’s had found a way to teleport. That was generally a spell previously only perfected by the Sidhe. I made a mental note to dig deeper into the spell at my first opportunity. If the Pixie’s found a way then it only made sense the spell could be perfected by the Slaugh as well. After all, the Slaugh were the superior race. I could feel the male was waiting for a response so I nodded my head and murmured okay. Then he said
“Kayna, I sense you have concerns at teleporting and I can feel how tense you are. Just try to relax. I know teleporting isn’t normal for Pixie’s but as I mentioned earlier tonight my mother is a changeling and while she looks mostly Pixie she is still part Sidhe and very good at the spell.”
The Pixie’s words gave me more insight then he intended. With one sentence he explained the teleportation and that his empathy skills could pick up my emotions while I was possessing the females’ body. I would need to cast an emotional blocker spell the next time I came back. Since I learned everything I was going to learn for the moment I decided to have a little fun and see if I could access the female’s magic.
After just two tries I was able to lift the blocking spell I placed on her memories including all her magic gifts and her brain blasting aptitude. Then just because I could I decided to blast the male Pixie next to me and was surprised when it rebounded off him and slammed back into the Pixie. Oh well, I thought her brain was mush before and will be worse now. I did however ghost out before I was subjected to the pain.
