"He left you for dead," I whispered. "And you ended up on my property."

She nodded.

"How am I going to convince Detective Brandt of any of this?"

Rachel smiled, but it was sad. "Now that you've seen my memories, you have them in your head. All you have to do, is touch something of Brant's—something he uses constantly—and he'll see what you saw."

"But the memories don't show Victor's face, so Brandt will still think it's me."

Her fingers touched my face—all I felt was cold—and she frowned. "The memories start the night of the party, so he will see Victor. He will see who actually did this, and you'll be free, Quinn."

"What if it doesn't work?" I asked.

"It will," she assured me. "Everyone will see, finally."

I looked away, and when I looked back, she was gone.
