On Friday, Gabe came home from school and discovered that his mother had packed up and left, taking most of the family’s money with her. His father was on the couch, crying, and Ricky was locked away in his room.
Gabe sat with his dad for hours, comforting him. And Gabe was furious. Why did she do this to us? He needed to talk to someone, needed to tell someone about what was happening. He needed to be comforted.
