April

Today

The crisp black suit felt oddly foreign on his skin, unease creeping into his heart at the unfamiliar clothing; yet at the same time, he felt as if he belonged in it. As he watched his reflection on the mirror, he noticed that he was more dressed up today than he ever was before. He almost didn't recognize himself. The somber mop of hair was combed and slicked back, only a few stray strands falling onto his face. A new pair of glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, something that he impulsively bought just for the occasion.

A knock resounded throughout the room, following a voice that said, "Sir Martin, the car is waiting for you outside."

"Okay, thank you!" Grinning as he slipped his feet into his shoes, he practically ran to the door, faltering in his steps in excitement.

Today was the day.
