Patience

As he neared the doors of the church, he was greeted by several people, some of them he knew from before. Either way, they were witnesses to their relationship from the start. His friends — old blockmates of theirs — greeted him with a grin, shaking his hand. While a few, gave him a worried smile.

He faltered in his steps, anxiety pooling inside him. Did something happen to her that he didn't know?

Martin shoved his hands into his pockets and pushed those thoughts away, trying to keep the calm and collected facade he was donning. Yet when he took his place in front of the altar, he couldn't help but pace back and forth. He kept looking at the clock, wishing that time would go much faster. Patience was a virtue that eluded him right now.
