Erikson said young adults think they’re invincible; we take unnecessary risks and do stupid things because we think that nothing can hurt us. He said we need to get past that before we can grow up and move on with our lives.
But as we sit here, with the cool air circling around us and the sun barely visible over the never-ending horizon, I want to scream Fuck Erikson. I want the wind to catch on my words and be carried off into the sea-salt air, spreading themselves all over the world.
Because sitting here, with everyone that I love and everything that we will ever need, god damn do I feel invincible.

Erikson is a developmental psychologist and has a theory related to stages of development. Which differs slightly from the way I made it sound but ya know
