We Could Be Something
103: Of Course I Am
“Do you really have to go for a whole week?”
Adriana, who was settled on their bed folding a few of her clothes, jumped a little at the sound of Iker’s voice before she lifted her head, offering him a small smile. It had been a couple of weeks, after they’d celebrated the new year, almost 3 weeks had passed, and with their wedding plans starting to take shape, Adriana had opted to travel to Porto for a week, wanting to start looking into venues for their big day.
“It doesn’t have to be a whole week” she mused, offering him a soft smile “But I would like to spend some time out there. It’s been a little while since I went home and I’d like to spend a few days there” she added, moving to settle another sweater into the suitcase which sat on the bed ahead of her.
Iker, who was stood in the doorway, mulled her words over for a couple of seconds before he nodded, moving to sit on the bed beside her. “I know you would” he agreed softly “And I get that, but I guess I will miss having you and the children around for a few days” he mumbled, resting his head against his pillow.
Adriana quirked a small smile at the sound of his words before she leant back, moving to press a soft kiss against lips. “I am sure that you’ll cope” she mumbled, offering him a small impish smile.
Iker admired her smile for a brief second before he rolled his eyes, something which made Adriana giggle before she pressed another soft kiss against his lips. Iker smiled into the kiss, holding onto her for a couple of seconds, before he ducked back, carefully resting his forehead against hers. “Are you sure that you don’t mind my madre tagging along?” he posed, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled around the two of them.
Adriana, who’d been playing with the bottom of his t-shirt, jumped a little at the sound of his voice before she lifted her head, her blue eyes mirroring his darker ones. “Of course I don’t” she insisted softly “In fact, I kind of like that she is coming along. I’d love to have her input” she enthused softly.
It had been a little out of the blue, Carmen’s request to accompany Adriana to Porto had caught the blonde a little off guard, but she had been than happy to agree to it, even if she did still feel a little nervous around the older woman, she was more than happy with the idea that the older woman wanted to be involved in the planning of her and Iker’s wedding.
Iker offered her a soft look, wordlessly enquiring if she was sure, before he nodded his head, a small smile playing at the corner of his mouth.
Adriana admired his smile for a couple of seconds before she shifted a little, cuddling into his side. “You know” she mumbled softly “I am pretty excited about the idea of you and me making it up the aisle” she added, her fingers gently messing with the bottom of his t-shirt.
It wasn’t something that they’d talked a lot about, since Iker had proposed, conversations about their wedding had been few and far between, and Adriana wanted to test the waters, even if she was confident that she and Iker were on the same page, she wanted to ensure that he wasn’t having second thoughts.
Iker, who was watching the movement of her hand, quirked a small smile. “You are?” he quipped teasingly.
Adriana rolled her eyes before she playfully hit his chest, something which made him laugh a little before he shifted his hand, knotting his fingers with hers. “I was kidding, Addie” he mused before he lifted her hand, pressing a soft kiss against the warm skin.
Adriana spared a soft look towards their hands for a couple of seconds before she lifted her head, tilting it slightly. “You’re looking forwards to it too, aren’t you?” she mumbled softly.
Iker quirked a small smile at the shy tone of her voice before he pressed another kiss against the back of her hand, a small smile playing at the corner of his mouth. “You know that I am, Addie” he mumbled softly “I mean, if it wasn’t for the fact that your father and my mother would kill me, I would suggest eloping and getting it over with, but of course I am looking forwards to it, Addie. I can’t wait” he enthused softly.
He knew that she was worried, for as long as he had known her, she had had a tendency to get a little nervous from time to time, and he wanted to offer her a little reassurance, even if she had nothing to be concerned about, he wanted to reassure her that he was as excited as she was.
Adriana allowed his words to linger around them for a couple of seconds before she lifted her head, moving to press a soft kiss against his lips. “I’m glad” she mumbled softly, resting her forehead against his.
Iker offered her a soft smile for a couple of seconds before the sound of Luca’s whimpers emanated away from the monitor which stood on the end table, causing him to let out a small sigh. “I should go and start getting them ready to go” he mumbled softly “Do you still want me to drop you off at the airport?” he posed, carefully untangling himself from their embrace.
“If that’s ok with you” Adriana mused softly, moving to restart packing her suitcase.
Iker offered her a small nod before he moved to pad out of the room, only to stop as Adriana placed a hand on his wrist, pulling him into a brief kiss. “I love you” she mumbled softly as she pulled away from him.
Iker flashed her a boyish smile before he pecked her lips briefly, mumbling the same 3 words in return before he padded out of the room.
Adriana watched after him for a couple of seconds before she shook her head, a small smile playing at the corner of her mouth. She knew that they still had a way to go, the date that she and Iker had chosen was a little over 6 months away from them, but already she was excited. Part of her couldn’t wait to take the next step forwards in her relationship with Iker.
