We Could Be Something

109: So What If I Do?

“How are you feeling?”

Adriana, who’d been staring out of the window of the car she was sat in, jumped a little at the sound of Iker’s voice before she turned her head, offering him a soft smile.

It had been a little while, after they’d made it through the ceremony, they’d spent a little while having pictures taken by the photographer that they had hire before they’d left for their reception, and Adriana was grateful for a few minutes of calm, even if she knew that it wouldn’t last for very long, she was glad to have a few alone with her new husband.

It felt a little odd, the notion that she and Iker were more than just boyfriend and girlfriend, but Adriana was confident that it was something that she would get used to, even if it did take a little while, she was sure that she would come to love the idea that she and Iker were married.

“I’m feeling a little relieved” she mused softly “I mean, I spent most of the morning worrying that something was going to go wrong, but I am thrilled that it is over with. You’re my husband now” she added, offering him a small impish smile.

Iker quirked a small smile at the sound of her words before he carefully shifted his hand, moving to knot their fingers together. “I spent a lot of this morning worrying too” he admitted softly.

“You did?” Adriana posed, her fingers softly playing with his.

“I did” Iker confirmed, his eyes fixed on their hands “I mean, I knew that I wanted to marry you, I’ve known that for a while now, but I was worried that something would screw this day up for you and that is the last thing I wanted. I know how much effort you’ve putting into it and I didn’t want to see it ruined” he added, his voice soft and warm.

Adriana listened to him talk before she shook her head, a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. “You’re very sweet” she mumbled softly before she shifted a little, moving to rest her head against his shoulder before she closed her eyes, something which made Iker smile a little before he ducked down, pressing a soft kiss against the side of her head.

“I love you, Addie” he mumbled softly against her skin.

Adriana quirked a soft smile before she lifted her head, moving to press a soft kiss against his lips. “I love you too” she mused softly.

“It is my pleasure to introduce for the first time as husband and wife, Mr and Mrs Casillas, Iker and Adriana” Sergio grinned as he stood at the front of the room, his glass raised towards the couple who stood in the doorway, wrapped up in their own little world.

It had been a little while, after the ceremony had finished, Iker and Adriana had spent time with their photographer as well as taking a little while to spend time with Luca and Olivia, but still they hadn’t stopped grinning, even if it had been a long day for the two of them, they still looked made up.

Iker, who’d been mumbling in Adriana’s ear, startled a little at the sound of the round of applause which filled the room before he lifted his head, offering a small grin towards Sergio before he took a hold of Adriana’s hand, moving to lead her towards the front of the room.

“Husband and wife” he mumbled softly “That still sounds a little strange, doesn’t it?” he quipped, pressing a soft kiss against her temple.

“It does” Adriana mumbled, her hand softly squeezing his “But I am sure that we’ll get used to it. We’re stuck together now” she added, offering him a small impish smile.

Iker rolled his eyes playfully before he led her towards their seats, allowing her to step ahead of him and towards her father who was quick to wrap her up in a soft hug.

Quirking a small smile, he watched Adriana for a couple of seconds before he felt someone nudge his shoulder, causing him to flick his attention towards Sergio who grinned at him widely. “You know, since you saw her for the first time today, you’ve not stopped smiling” the defender teased.

Iker shook his head. “It is my wedding day” he countered softly “I think I am probably supposed to smile” he added, offering the defender a teasing grin.

Sergio chuckled a little before he patted Iker’s shoulder. “I am happy for you, hombre” he enthused brightly “Adriana’s a wonderful woman, Iker, and I wish you both a lot of happiness. You both deserve it” he added softly before he stepped away.

Iker watched after him for a couple of seconds before he shook his head, his dark eyes peeking towards Adriana who stood with her father, fussing over Olivia who was settled on her hip, babbling cheerfully.

“She looks amazing, doesn’t she?”

Iker, who’d been contently watching Adriana, jumped a little at the sound of his mother’s voice before he turned, offering her, and Luca who was settled in her arms, a small smile. “She looks spectacular” he enthused, his voice soft and awed.

Carmen quirked a small smile at the tone of his voice before she stepped towards him, moving to press a light kiss against his cheek before she settled Luca into his arms. “Congratulations, Iker” she mumbled softly “I had my doubts about you and Adriana, but I am so happy and proud of the way things worked out for the two of you” she added, straightening his tie a little before she stepped away, mumbling something about not wanting to cry again.

Iker spared a small chuckle before he shook his head, his dark eyes peeking towards Adriana who had stopped a little away him from to talk to Ella and Emily. Quirking a small smile, he carefully adjusted Luca in his arms before he stepped towards her, his spare arm wrapping around her waist.

Adriana, who’d been happily talking to Ella, jumped a little at the feel of Iker’s arm before she lifted her head, offering him a small smile. “You miss me already?” she quipped teasingly.

Iker rolled his eyes a little before he shook his head, a grin playing at the corner of his mouth. “So what if I do?” he posed impishly.

Adriana spared a soft laugh before she carefully pushed herself up onto her toes, pressing a soft kiss against his lips. She knew that it was going to take a little getting used to, for a while, the idea that she and Iker had gotten married was going to feel unfamiliar, but she was confident that they would get used to it, even if the novelty didn’t wear off for a while. She was sure that they’d warm to the idea that they were husband and wife.
