We Could Be Something

“Are you sure that you don’t mind taking her for a little while, Ella?” Adriana posed as she stepped into the living room, Olivia balanced on her hip. It had been a little while, after Jonathan had departed for Italy, almost a month had passed, and whilst things were still more than good between her and Iker, Adriana was keen to get a little time alone with him, something which they’d not had a lot since the season had started up again.

Ella, who was sat on the couch flicking through her phone, quirked a small smile before she shook her head, stowing her phone into her bag. “Of course I don’t mind, Ana” she noted softly “You know that I love looking after her” she added, offering her arms out slightly.

“I know” Adriana noted, settling Olivia into Ella’s arms “But it is short notice and I’d hate to impose on you and David. If you had plans…”

“If I had plans, I would have said, Ana” Ella interjected, an amused grin on her face.

Adriana offered her a slightly dubious look, wordlessly ensuring that she was certain, before she nodded her head, moving to collect Olivia’s nappy bag which sat on the side a little away from them. “I’ll come by in a couple of hours to pick her up” she noted softly.

“There’s no rush” Ella mused, padding towards the door “Besides, I am sure that Iker would be more than grateful for a little while alone with his girlfriend” she added, a teasing smile on her face.

Adriana rolled her eyes, a small hint of pink playing on her cheeks, something which made Ella giggle a little before she pulled the front door open. “I’ll see you in a little while” she noted gently.

Adriana nodded her head softly before she stepped forwards, pressing a soft kiss against the top of Olivia’s blonde hair. “I’ll see you soon, little one” she mumbled softly.

Ella watched the small interaction for a second before she shook her head, a small smile on her face. It had taken a little while, after Jonathan had ended their relationship, Adriana had been quiet and a little distant, but Ella had to admit that she was pleased to see how much things had changed, even if it hadn’t been very long, she had to admit that she was pleased to see her friend so content.

Sparing a small yawn into his hand, Iker moved to pull his key out of his pocket, unlocking the door which stood ahead of him. It had been a long day, with an away match, a lot of his time had been spent travelling, but he was pleased to be home. Nothing appealed to him more than the idea of a quiet night in front of the television. Letting another yawn fall out of his mouth, he pushed the door open before he settled his kit bag down.

“Iker?”

Iker, who’d moved to kick off his shoes, lifted his head a little at the sound of his name before he looked up, a warm smile forming on his face at the sight of Adriana who stood in the door way, her blue eyes peeking up at him. “Hola, mi amor” he greeted softly.

Adriana’s cheeks tinted a little pink at the nickname before she stepped towards him, offering her hand out to him.

Iker glanced down at her hand before he quirked an eyebrow. “Addie?” he posed.

Adriana offered him a small smile before she moved to lace their fingers together, leading him towards the living room. “I’ve been thinking” she noted softly “It’s been a little while since you and I went on a date and I figured, since you’ve spent most of the day travelling, that you’d want to stay in” she added gently, her teeth nibbling on her lip shyly.

Iker, who’d followed her through towards the living room, tilted his head slightly, his dark eyes wandering over the softly lit room ahead of him. It had been a little while, with pre-season training as well as pre-season matches, it had been a while since he and Adriana had spent time alone together, but he had to admit that he was slightly surprised, even if he was pleased about the prospect of spending time alone with her, he was more than a little surprised that she had gone to so much effort. “Addie” he breathed softly.

“Is it too much?” she posed, her tone soft and shy.

Iker shook his head. “It’s a surprise” he noted gently “I mean, I thought I was the romantic one in this relationship, but it is a good surprise, Addie” he mused, his tone caught between teasing and reassuring.

Adriana offered him a slightly dubious look, something which made Iker chuckle a little before he stepped towards her, pressing a light kiss against her temple. “I love it, nena” he mused gently.

Adriana quirked a soft smile before she turned, pressing a soft kiss against his lips. “I ought to go and check on the food” she mumbled between light kisses.

Iker pressed another kiss against her lips before he stepped back, allowing her to step away from him, ducking into the kitchen. Quirking a small smile, he watched after her for a couple of seconds before he padded towards the neatly made up table, taking a seat beside it and pouring himself a glass of water. “I’m not much of a cook” Adriana noted as she stepped back into the room “But I followed the recipe as best as I could” she added as she padded towards the table, settling a plate down ahead of him.

Iker glanced at the plate of food for a couple of seconds before he stretched out his hand, gently wrapping it around Adriana’s wrist. “You know, I love you” he murmured softly, his fingers gently moving to knot with hers.

“You do?” Adriana quipped, a small smirk on her face.

Iker rolled his eyes playfully before he nodded his head. “I don’t know that I say it enough to you, but I am kind of smitten with you” he enthused softly.

Adriana’s cheeks tinted a little pink before she leant towards him, pressing a kiss against his forehead. “I am pretty smitten with you too” she quipped before she ducked away, padding back into the kitchen.

Iker glanced after her for a couple of seconds before he shook his head, a small smile on his face. He knew that he had to take his time, he and Adriana hadn’t quite been together for a year, but he could see himself getting used to being around her, even if he didn’t want to put a lot of pressure onto a relationship which was more than good.
