We Could Be Something

95: Aren’t You Lucky?

Pulling his gloves off of his hands, Iker moved to settle them down in his locker before he sat down on the bench, quietly removing his boots from his feet. It had been a little while, after he and Adriana had arrived in Lyon, a little over 6 weeks has passed, and whilst it had taken a little getting used to, Iker was pleased with how settled things seemed. Moving to stow his boots beside his locker, he carefully moved to pull his shirt over his head before the sound of someone calling his name reached his ears, causing him to look up. “Huh?” he posed.

“You have visitors in the front office” Mathieu mused “A pretty blonde woman is asking after you” he added before he padded towards his own locker.

Iker blinked a couple of times, caught off guard by the other man’s words, before he moved to get changed, quickly pulling his bag onto his shoulder before he padded out of the changing room, making his way towards reception where Adriana stood, Luca babbling happily in her arms whilst Olivia toddled around by her feet, grinning brightly.

Pausing for a second, Iker watched the three of them for a couple of moments before he cleared his throat, something which made Adriana look up, a soft smile playing at the corner of her mouth. “Hola” he quipped before he stepped towards Adriana, pressing a soft kiss against her cheek.

Adriana quirked a soft smile before she turned her head, pressing a brief kiss against his lips. “Hola” she replied impishly.

Iker quirked a small smile before he shook his head, moving to lift Olivia onto his hip. “Not that I am not happy to see you” he mused gently “But what are the three of you doing here?” he added softly. It was unusual, even when he had been at Porto, Adriana had tended to stay away from the training ground, and he was a little surprised to see her, even if he was pleased, it had caught him slightly off guard.

Adriana, who’d moved to settle Luca into his pushchair, shrugged a little. “We wanted to get out of the house for a little while and I figured we could drop by and see if you wanted to go out for lunch. I mean, you don’t have to…”

“I’d love that” Iker interjected softly, offering her a light smile.

Adriana admired the soft look on his face for a couple of seconds before she nodded her head. “Then we should go” she quipped impishly, offering her hand out towards him.

Iker rolled his eyes a little before he knotted their fingers together, something which caused the small smile which played on Adriana’s face to grow a little. It still felt a little strange, the idea that they’d left Porto for Lyon, but it was something that she was slowly getting used to, even if she did miss her home, she was slowly growing used to their new home.

“Have you given any thought towards our wedding plans yet?”

Adriana, who’d been quietly settling Luca down into his pushchair, startled a little at the sound of Iker’s voice before she lifted her head, her blue eyes peeking towards him softly. it had been a pleasant lunch, after she and the children had surprised Iker at the training ground, they’d headed towards a small café for lunch, and Adriana had to admit that she had enjoyed herself, even if they had been a little quiet, she had merely enjoyed spending time with her little family.

“I’ve given it a little thought” she mused softly “Did you have any ideas?” she added, her tone caught between curious and teasing.

Iker, who’d been trying to settle Olivia down into her pushchair, peeked up at Adriana briefly before he shrugged. “A couple” he noted softly “I mean, I’ve already suggested that we do it next summer, but I was thinking late June or early July” he added,

“I like that idea” Adriana agreed softly “Have you given any thought towards where you want to do it?” she posed, her blue eyes peeking up at him gently. She knew that it had the potential to be a sticking point, with Iker’s home being in Madrid and hers being in Porto, they were likely to have different ideas about where it was they wanted to hold their wedding, and she wanted to start talking about it, even if it did prove to be an issue, she knew that it wasn’t one that they could avoid.

Iker offered her a soft look, not missing the slightly nervous expression she wore, before he shook his head. “I’ll do it wherever it is you want to do it, Addie” he mumbled, his hand gently moving to take a hold of hers which fiddled nervously with her napkin.

“What?” Adriana squeaked.

Iker quirked a small smile at the surprised tone of her voice before he shook his head. “I’ll be happy to marry you wherever it is you want us to do it, Addie” he mused softly “I mean, I’d love to do it at home in Madrid, but I know that doing it in Porto means an awful lot to you and, if that is what you want to do, then I am happy to go along with it” he insisted softly.

Adriana blinked a couple of times, caught off guard by his words, before she shook her head. “Iker…”

“Addie, I want to do it” Iker interjected softly “It means a lot to you and I want our wedding day to be just right for you. You want to do it in Porto, don’t you?” he posed, his dark eyes mirroring hers.

Adriana offered him a soft look before she nodded, something which caused him to duck his head, gently pressing a soft kiss against the back of her hands. “Then that is what we will do” he mumbled softly, offering her a light smile.

Adriana offered him a slightly shy look, wordlessly enquiring if he was sure, before she shook her head. “You’re pretty amazing, aren’t you?” she mumbled softly.

Iker quirked a boyish grin before he pressed another kiss against the back of her hand. “Aren’t you a lucky girl?” he teased brightly.

Adriana rolled her eyes playfully at his words before she leant towards him, pressing a soft kiss against his cheek, wordlessly musing about how lucky she was to have found him.
