Gypsy Girl

Can't it be a mystery?

She let out a few laughs as she gripped onto John's neck, her head rolling back for a moment as she enjoyed the luxury of being carried to a safe spot for him to set her down.

"I'm totally enjoying this." She admitted out loud, making John chuckle as he set her feet safely on the ground and placed his hands on her shoulders as he looked down into her bright blue eyes. He couldn't help but take a few extra moments to stare into them, before she raised her eyebrow and tilted her head at him. "Do I have something on my face?"

She twitched her nose sideways a couple of times as she moved her hands around to feel her flushed face, John laughing loudly as she did so. "No, your face is fine."

"Oh, wow." Her head turned to the side slightly, as she crossed her arms over her chest. "It's every woman's dream to be told that their face is fine." John pulled his hands off her shoulders, as he pulled them up to awkwardly rub the back of his head. "I'm just fucking with you, buddy. Cheer up! You look so uncomfortable. Now, what happened to them beers?"

He let out an awkward laugh, silently kicking himself for the silence, watching as she strutted across the room to pull out two beers from the fridge. Taking a moment to greet a couple people that stumbled through for a second.

A few minutes later, the two found themselves sitting criss-crossed on top of the roof. How they managed to successfully climb up there, was a mystery that they'd have to ponder another time.

"So are you from Arizona?" John questioned as he sipped on his beer.

She smiled behind her beer as she shook her head. "Nope. Born and raised in Washington State."

"So, I'm guessing college- from what you said earlier about finals, brought you out here?" John assumed, as he leaned against the shingles. Catching a glimpse at her outfit as he did so.

She was wearing nothing extravagant. Just a loose fitted white shirt, and black skinny jeans and a pair of maroon vans. He smirked to himself as she stretched her arms over her head for a moment, catching a glance at the sunflower tattooed on the left side of her hip.

"I was going to college in Washington," she took a drag of her beer as she watched him. "However, I finished a semester early and packed my bags and... well, now I'm here."

John pursed his lips together as he nodded, making her throw her head back and laugh as he began making a few random facial expressions. Though, honestly, he didn't know why he thought it was a good idea... but he continued to go with it as her face lit up and she slowly came down from the high of her laughter.

"What made you decide to come here?"

She smiled to herself, before she reached out her hand for him to take. "Slow down there, big guy. You haven't even told me your name yet."

John set down his beer instantly, letting out a few grunts as an apology as he reached up to take her hand in his. Part of him smiling to himself as he noticed how small her hands were, compared to his. "I'm John."

"Well, John, it's been a pleasure to meet you." She smiled brightly, before she pulled herself closer to him, getting close enough so that they were almost nose-to-nose. "Maybe I'll crash into you, another time."

John raised his eyebrow, before realizing she had pressed a gentle kiss on the corner of his mouth. Staring blankly as his eyes followed her until she had safely made her way off of the roof, and onto the ground below. "Wait, what's your name!?" He shook the daze out of his system as he yelled down to her, watching as she smiled brightly up at him.

"Can't it be a mystery?" She called back, swaying back and forth with her hands behind her back as she looked up at him.

John O'Callaghan couldn't help but chuckle, running his hands through his hair as he did so.
