Ace

gambling and bluffing

I don’t know how you managed it, but you always had an ace up your sleeve. You were always one step ahead of me in the game of love. You knew how to play that game well, when to gamble and how much, and I followed your bluffs like a sheep her shepherd. Until your eyes started wandering. Our game of poker was no longer interesting enough for you, and I could tell that you were eying up that blackjack table. But I dealt the next hand, and it was then that I revealed the card up my sleeve: the joker. As I walked away, I was pleased that the joke was on you this time.
