Take Me to Church

Chapter Eleven

I woke up the next morning, wrapped in Chibs' arms. We would have to get up soon to deal with the club, though I was a bit confused about how all of this was going to work. Being the first female member of the club, I mean.

Am I going to join them for church? Will I be told everything that's going on with the club now? Can I vote?

Rolling over, I saw that Chibs was already awake and was watching me as I slept. "What's going on?" I asked, stretching my body out. Bringing his hands up, he pushed my hair out of my face as he smiled down at me. "Nothing, but we do have to get up soon. We can't avoid the club forever." He sighed.

"So, I'm actually part of the club after all?" I questioned, sitting up next to him. his arms wrapped around my hips as he pulled me back down and closer to him. "Of course you're actually part of the club. You're the first female member- daughter of anarchy. You'll want to keep that cut on as much as possible." He explained. "Hale noticed the cut last night." I mumbled, my good mood suddenly fading.

Chibs was quick to notice the shift in my mood. Grabbing my hand, he began rubbing his thumb over the back of my hand lightly. "Hey now, don't slip on me like that, none of that was your fault remember?" He scolded me.

When I didn't say anything, he sighed and let go of my hand. "Come on, love. We need to get out there." I watched as he climbed out of the bed and made his way over to the closet to get dressed. I waited a few moments before crawling out of the bed as well. I brushed past Chibs as I stepped into the closet to find clothes of my own.

Todays outfit consisted of dark jeans, a grey shirt, of course a plaid over shirt, and a pair of boots.

If it weren't for him holding my cut out to me, I probably would've totally forgotten to put it on. I pulled my hair out from under the collar, and allowed it to hang loosely over my shoulders. "Christ, you look beautiful darling." Chibs breathed out as his eyes roamed over my body. Reaching out, I grabbed his hand and pulled him close to me. His arms wrapped around my waist, while my arms wrapped around his torso and burried my head in his chest.

We stayed like that for a few moments before walking out of the room together. Luckily, the mood had shifted between the two of us, and we walked down the hallway together smiling and holding hands.

The boys had church this morning, but since I wasn't all that comfortable with sitting in on it just yet, I decided to stay outside. They didn't even take all that long. By the time I had made coffee, find my cup, and fill it up, they were already walking out of the chapel and into the bar.

"You know you don't have to sit out here. You're a member of the club, you can join us for meetings." Clay pointed out as he came into the bar. "Yeah, I know. I just feel kind of awkward going in there so soon. Are you guys going to get Jax, I mean he got arrested, didn't he?" I asked, quickly changing the subject. Chibs came walking up behind me and placed his arm around me. "Aye, we are." He nodded, confirming suspicions.

"Can I come?" I questioned, looking between the two older men."That cut on your back means that you can do anything that the rest of us do. Or go with us where ever we go. Alright?" Clay took the good pleasure to point that out to me.

"Are you sure you're feeling up to going, love? I mean after everything that happened last night." Chibs asked, looking down at me. "I'm fine, let's just go alright?" I snapped, not even meaning to snap at him. He gave me a strange look before nodding his head. Clay walked away, and Chibs moved to follow; but before he could I grabbed hold of his hand and pulled him back.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you." I sighed, feeling guilty. "Don't you worry about it, love. I know you're going through a lot. We all are. Of course at some point we're going to snap at each other. Come on, let's go."

I couldn't help but smile as we walked out of the club together hand in hand. It wasn't everyone who went, but our ragtag group consisted of: myself, Chibs, Clay, Juice, Opie, and Bobby. As awkward as I felt being with them, in some way it felt like this was where I belong.

The sun was high in the sky and shining brightly over Charming. I clung to Chibs as he drove through town- I loved being on the back of his bike.

Looking over his shoulder, I saw we had gotten there just in time- Unser was walking Jax out of the station through the front doors. That only made everyone move faster in parking and climbing off of their bikes.

"So, what do we know about the shooter?" Clay was quick to jump right down to business. Unser flashed a warry look my way before deciding to answer. "His jaw, chest, and nose are busted." Chibs put his arm around my shoulder and leaned his weight onto me. "Mayan?" Bobby spoke up, curious. Only to have Unser shake his head sadly, "No, he has a few priors; but no known affiliations."

"But that doesn't make any sense."I couldn't stop myself from chirping. "Tell me about it." Unser said with a scoff.

The boys continued to talk about the shooter, but my mind began to wander off. Though, I knew that I should be paying attention, I just couldn't help myself. I could feel my body begin to move as my mind wandered back to the day that I met Hale.

I had only been in Charming for a few days, and didn't know my way around all too well. It was late in the afternoon, and I had heard of a local motorcycle club called the Sons of Anarchy. Actually, my father had sent me to find them. Hale found me parked on the side of the road, lost. He then managed to give me perfect directions, while hitting on me at the same time.

I had also met Chibs that same day. He was the one working out in the shop when I got there, and therefore he was the one who helped me.

"Kaela?" I was taken away from my memories when Chibs squeezed my arm ever so slightly. "Hmm, yeah?" I hummed, looking over at him. "We're going to have a chat with the shooter, are you okay? You looked distracted?" He glanced down at me with a worried look in his eye. I was quick to nod my head in reassurance. "I'm fine. No worries."

He seemed skeptical, but he nodded his head as if believing me. So, we climbed onto his bike and followed along behind the rest of the group in order to go to the hospital.

The shooter was on the third floor, which made for a very cramped elevator ride. I was squished between Opie and my husband.

"Sheriff's guarding the shooter, just like Unser said. He's not going to let us go in there." Clay sounded disappointed as he looked at Jax. Jax was quick to take a hint. "I'll go see if Tara can help." Was all he said before walking away from the rest of the group. So, Clay stuffed his hands down into his pockets as he turned to look at us. "Let's go visit Chuckie. Brighten his day, shall we?" He flashed a toothy smile.

Turning, we all walked down an adjacent hallway to the room that they had put Chuckie in. Clay knocked on the door before letting himself in. "Chuckie, we need a favor." He said in a sing-song voice as he stepped through the doorway.

A few of the other boys followed him into the room, but I pulled Chibs to a halt while we were still in the hallway. "You alright love?" Chibs asked me once again. I simply nodded my head, and leaned back against the wall. "I'm fine, don't worry. I've just got a lot on my mind, ya know?" I explained simply, with a small shrug of my shoulders. "Alright, sweet heart, as long as you're okay." He smiled down to me as he reached his hand up and pushed a strand of hair out of my face.

We stood there for a few more moments before the boys all came back out into the hallway, Chuckie was with them this time. At the same time, Jax came walking around the corner and back over to the group. "Tara can't help." He shook his head.

Clay was quick to wave the blonde hair man off. The next thing I knew, Chuckie took off running and screaming through the hallways. "They cut off my fingers! Oh my god, I came in to have a mole removed, and they cut off my god damn fingers!" He screamed as he ran.

I couldn't help but laugh as the sheriff went running after chuckie. Giving the boys the perfect opportunity to slip inside the shooter's room. The boys were all quick to slip inside, but not me.

"I'll stay out here and keep watch." I told Clay as I leaned myself back against the wall next to the door. Clay gave me a look before nodding his head and disappearing into the hospital room. Crossing my arms over my chest, I could hear Chuckie screaming from somewhere in the hospital; and the Sheriff shouting as he chased after him. I knew the boys had limited time in that room.

After the shouting died down, I knocked a few times on the door- hoping the guys would understand that they needed to hurry. Thankfully, a few seconds later the boys all came piling out of the room, and we began walking away.

"Anything?" I whispered, looking up to Chibs as we walked. Before he was able to say anything, I could hear the rest of the guys talking about what had just happened.

"Calaverez is a Mayan puppet club, what the hell are they doing proxying a retaliation?" Bobby hissed, looking towards Clay. "Holy shit, what if this was initiation?" Jax asked, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"It was a god damn patch over?" Clay gasped, before walking away.

The rest of us were hesitant to follow along behind him. Upon leaving the hospital, we made our way to a small bar. I didn't think anything of the small place, until we walked inside and I saw Jimmy O sitting there waiting for our arrival.

"It wasn't my old lady that killed Cameron's boy. Was ATF, Stahl shot him in the back. Gemma was there to settle the score with Zobelle's daughter. Stahl didn't want to take the heat for the dirty kill, framed her." Clay explained to the man upon sitting down. "Why would my mom kill Edmond? Doesn't make any sense." Jax added.

"Jesus, this shit just keeps getting deeper." Jimmy said with a sigh, rubbing the top of his head with his hand. "Cameron directed his vengeance towards the wrong target, and now he's ot my son." Jax was quick to snap at the man. "He's got a fake passport, so he has to be back in Belfast." Clay took the more calm approach to the situation. What happened next is what really caught my attention and threw me off.

"No, my intel says he's still here." Jimmy was way too quick to disagree with Jax and Clay. I didn't trust his 'intel', something about all this just didn't sit right with me. "Cammy can't make a move in six counties without me hearing about it. He hasn't jumped off this rock yet. I'll be heading back home in a few days, you cane take mine here. Any news about Cammy or the boy, I give you my word, you'll be first to know." Jimmy said, reaching across the table to shake hands as he spoke.

Both Clay and Jax were hesitant to reach out and shake the man's hand. I moved closer to Chibs and leaned up closer to his ear. No one seemed to notice my movements.

"I don't trust him. He was way too quick to jump in and disagree with everything Jax and Clay had to say." I told him before we started walking out of the bar with everyone else. Part of me hoped we'd be going back to the club; but part of me knew that wasn't going to happen yet.

"Bobby is your ex-wife still with that guido bounty-hunter?" Jax asked, picking his helmet up off the back of his bike. "Yeah, why?" Bobby didn't seem at all too thrilled to be speaking about his ex-wife. "You gonna put him on Cameron?" Clay was quick to ask, looking to the younger blonde male. "Might be all we can do. The cops aren't doing shit and we aren't going anywhere." Jax said with a sigh, shaking his head ever so slightly..

"Well, I'm currently at an impass with Precious." Bobby admitted, he almost sounded ashamed. "How much of an impass?" Clay was quick to question him.

Bobby hesitated for a few moments, before shaking his head. "About six months alimony, and two months child support." He admitted finally. Jax gave him a strange look of disappointment, only for Bobby to speak once more when no one else did. "Of course, let's go see the red-headed rattle snake." He was being sarcastic.

I couldn't help but laugh ever so slightly as I climbed onto the back of Chibs' bike. Precious worked about ten minutes away from the bar we had previously be at, so it didn't take us too long to reach our destination. We all decided to wait outside with the bikes, while Bobby went inside to talk to Precious; and judging by the sound of screaming happening inside, we made the right choice.I don't think I would ever want to be in the middle of that fight.

From where we were outside, I could hearing Precious screaming at Bobby about the money that he owed her. She wouldn't even give him a chance to explain why we had come to see her. As Jax moved from his bike, and walked inside, a large yawn escaped my lips.

Slowly, I looked over to where Chibs was leaning against his bike. "Hey, do you think you could take me back to the club real quick?" I asked him with a small smile. "Is something wrong sweetheart?" He looked down at me, a worried look in his eyes as he looked me over. "I just feel kind of sick." I lied, avoiding eye contact.

He gave me a slight nod, before stepping over to Clay and explaining to him what was going on. Then, he came back over to where I was waiting, and we climbed back onto his bike.

The ride back to the club normally would have taken about thirty minutes, though knowing that he had to get back to the boys, we made the drive in roughly fifteen minutes. "You call me if you need anything you hear?" He ordered, standing over me with his hands on my hips. "I will, don't worry. You be safe." Holding on to the front of his cut, I used it to pull him down to my level and give him a passionate kiss.

When I let go of his cut, he stumbled back ever so slightly with a goofy smile on his face. I couldn't help but laugh as I watched him climb back onto his bike, and ride away.

I was left alone outside on the lot, the only other people that were here was Piney and the prospects but they were all inside the club. So, I sat down on top of the picnic table and pulled a cigarette out of the pack that was hidden in my pocket. The sun was shining down on me as I lit up the cancer-filled stick.
