Take Me to Church

Chapter Thirteen

I fell asleep on the couch in the bar last night after Juice showed us the picture of Cameron. Things were kind of hectic.

Jax left almost immediately- leaving the blonde to find her own way home, and more than likely wreck someone else's home. The rest of us grew silent d depressed; and turned to drinking our sorrows away. Drinking is what lead me to falling asleep on the couch, and Chibs drunkenly carried me to bed.

Speaking of, Chibs was nowhere to be found when I woke up. He was probably suffering the hangover from hell, and went to get some coffee. Poor Baby. In all the years I had been in Charming, no matter how much I've drank in one night, I never had a hangover the next day. Lucky me I guess. All the boys absolutely hate me for it to be honest. Oh well.

Rolling out of bed, I made my way over to the closet to pick out today's outfit.

My clothes consisted of tight, black jeans. A black tank top under a grey button down shirt. A pair of heels, and a bandana in my messy hair.

I pulled my cut onto my shoulders as I walked out of the apartment, and made my way to the kitchen. There, I grabbed my all too familiar cup and filled it with coffee before walking out of the kitchen. It was strange to see the club so empty; but that's also what told me that everyone was outside. So, naturally that's where I was headed.

Just as I stepped outside, I heard a rather loud bang that made me quickly look around for the source of the sound. Looking over, I saw that Jax had punched the side of the van. Leaving a few nice. big dents in the side.

Silently, I walked over and joined the group of men that were standing around the club's vice president. More specifically, I walked up behind Chibs and took the pack of cigarettes out of his back pocket. It made him jump slightly, and it made me laugh as I lit one up.

"What's going on?" I questioned, handing the pack of cigarettes back to him. "Jackie Boy just got off the phone with O'Phalen. He's still claiming that Abel's not there, that Cameron didn't bring Abel along." Chibs answered with a sigh. From the corner of my eye, I saw Jax walk over and sit at the picnic table. "And Jax actually believed him?" I scoffed loudly.

Chibs gave me a questioning look.

"Jimmy's done nothing but bullshit and lie to our faces about this whole thing with Abel. I talked my dad, and he said that Mo had said something about Cammy being there with a baby." I ranted.

Not saying anything, Chibs put his arm around me and we made our way over to where Jax was sitting on the picnic table, and Clay was standing in front of him. "Your hands look like mine feel." Clay laughed. We all knew he was trying to joke around, but this probably wasn't the best time for it. Chibs climbed up so that he was sitting on top of the table, while I sat down on the bench between his legs. His hands immediately gripped onto my shoulders, and began rubbing slightly.

"We stick with plan A. You guys drop off the guns. Clay, Kaela, and I will pick up mom. Then, head North and find my kid." I silently, rolled my eyes at the sound of Jax's words. So we're really gonna waste time by listening to Jimmy?

"So, I'm riding with one of you instead of Chibs?" I questioned, looking over to the blonde male. "No, you're riding on your own." He was quick to answer me. "Well then, I won't be getting that far. If you don't remember, my bike was reduced to rubble a while back." I scoffed, crossing my arms over my chest. "Actually, Opie and I kind of fixed it for you." Chibs spoke sheepishly from where he was sitting behind me. Confused, I looked over my shoulder at him, but from the corner of my eye I spotted Opie leading a dark purple Dyna with a reaper on the side.

"No fucking way." I gasped, jumping up. Tackling Chibs into a hug and pressing a kiss to his lips, I could feel the way people were watching us. "I can't believe you guys did this!" I squealed.

I also gave Opie a huge hug before turning my attention to the bike. My fingers ran over the handlebars lightly before my eyes flashed over to my husband. "How did you do this? It's beautiful!" I smiled at the men who were standing in front of me. "Did you not notice how we got suddenly busy in the garage? We worked nonstop night and day to get it done. Tig helped out too." Chibs explained to me.

Wrapping my arms around my husband, I buried my face into his chest as I hugged him tightly. I could feel his arms snake around my own waist as I looked up into his eyes. "I love you." I whispered. "I love you too. lass." He chuckled.

Slowly, he leaned down to kiss me-only to be interrupted by Clay telling us all that it was time to head out.

Groaning, I pulled away from my husband, "We will be finishing this later." I informed. Chibs simply laughed, placing a quick kiss to my cheek before walking over to his own bike. I was going to miss riding with him; but I'm overjoyed to have my own bike back as well.

Straddling my purple beauty, I put m helmet on before starting the bike. The engine roared to life loudly and began to purr between my legs.

Pulling out of the lot with everyone else was one of the most exciting things to happen in a while. I road alongside Chibs so I could see when Clay and Jax pulled away from the rest of the pack. That way I would be able to follow along behind them.

Though as soon as we parted ways with everyone else, we pulled over to the side of the road. Clay was having problems with his hands- it was hurting him to ride and he could barely hold a grip.

"Did you shoot 'em up?" Jax asked him, looking ever so slightly worried. Probably more worried about the plan than he was about Clay. Clay was quick to shake his head, "Your mom's the only one who does it right." His hands were shaking as he spoke. "Can you hold a grip?" Jax questioned him. Once more trying to move his hands, I could see the pain all over his face. His shaking got worse, and he wasn't able to get a grip on his bike.

"You'll just have to tie me on." Clay said with a sigh. Jax and I were quick to do as he had requested, and used two bandanas to tie his hands on to the bike. We made sure he's be safe riding before we once more started towards our destination.

Which just so happened to be Gemma's childhood home.

After our stop, it didn't take too much longer for us to get there, and as soon as they heard our bikes Gemma and Tig came running outside to greet us.Gemma went straight to Clay, while Tig came over to where Jax and I were standing off to the side with one another.

Jax greeted Tig and his mother before making his way into the house in search of Tara. So, I took his place next to Tig.

"So, Chibs finally got that finished for you?" Tig smirked, placing his arm around my shoulders as we started walking towards the house. "Yeah, he did- and I know that you helped him. So thank you." I smiled up at him right as we stepped the house with everyone else. Nate, Gemma's father, had just walked into the room and spotted Clay standing there.

"Good to see you, Nate. How are you?" Clay said with a sarcastic look plastered on his face. "Hey grandpa." Jax, however, his smile seemed much more genuine than Clay's.

A small, awkward silence fell over the room, as we all waited for what Nate was going to do. "Why are you here?" He snapped, looking at Clay. His eyes narrowed down into a glare as he looked at Clay. He didn't even notice or acknowledge Jax. "Clay's here to help me get you settled." Gemma was quick to step in between her father and husband. "I don't need his help! This is what killed your mother!" With that, Nate turned and walked away.

I'm going to take a guess and say that Nate doesn't care for Clay.

"Well, old man certainly seems to remember me." Clay laughed loudly. Of course he would find this funny. Asshole- did he even consider how this was making Gemma feel?

"You okay mom?" At least Jax cared enough to asked. Suddenly, from the corner of my eye, I saw Tara standing in the doorway. "You guys should just stay clear of him. Tara and I will handle it." Gemma said, sounding distressed as she walked out of the room.

"You have to tell her." Tara order, looking between Clay and Jax with a very angry look on her face. "We know." Jax snapped, he didn't seem to happy with her.

"Maybe we'll wait until Nate gets settled- Spread out the misery." Clay sighed before taking a sip of whatever he was drinking. The lack of care was very evident in his voice. Angry, Tara stormed off and Jax we after her. I could hear them start fighting with one another and knew that this wasn't going to end well.

"We're not your family! Do you know how deep I'm buried here? You don't want this!" I heard Jax screaming at her. "Don't tell me what I want! I asked you for the truth, and you gave it to me!" Tara was screaming as well; but Jax was quick to yell again. "So you would stay put!" The echoing boom of his voice made even me jump from my spot in the kitchen.

"You're not coming up North." Jax growled out. "Yes I am!" Tara was quick to fight back against him. jax paused for a slight moment before the yelling started up once more.

"You want to be an old lady? Then act like one, do as you're told! Pack your shit, and head back to Charming!" Jax ordered. That was the last I could hear' because Clay's phone started ringing loudly. Clay was quick to answer, thought he wasn't talking for long. "Hap and Piney ran into some problems. Kaela, call Chibs and get them out there now." Clay ordered.

Doing as I was told, I pulled my phone from my pocket and dialed my husbands number. "What's going on, love?" Chibs breathed out upon answering his phone. "You guys need to get to Happy and Piney. They ran into some problems. I'm not sure what, Clay didn't say. Just go." I explained to him.

As I got off the phone, Clay and Tig came back with Jax in tow. I said nothing and instead followed along behind them as they made their way outside and climbed onto our bikes.

Clay and Jax rode out front, while Tig and I rode along behind them. Close but at a safe enough distance. Our destination just so happened to be where Piney and Happy were.

They were stuck inside, being shot at by drug runners when we arrived. I very suddenly realized the danger of the situation.

A group of men had our brothers in there, shooting at them. What if we loose a brother, what if they came out and started shooting at us? Would I be able to do what needs to be done when the time comes down to it? I had fired a gun before, sure- but I've never actually had to take someone's life. So, would I be able to do it if that's what things came down to?

Suddenly, the gunfire from inside the house stopped. "Got your boys! Put them guns down or grandpa gets his head blown off." The one obviously in charge shouted at us. We had crouched down, hiding behind our bikes when they came out of the house.

Hesitantly, we all moved to do as he ordered when the sound of approaching motorcycles filled our ears. Pulling my gun out from where it was hidden under my shirt, I watched as our brothers surrounded the area. We now outnumbered the drug runners; so it was them dropping their guns. Not us.

Seeing Chibs walk over, I couldn't help but smile and feel more safe than I had in the moments before they had arrived. "Everything good here?" Chibs breathed out, putting his hands on my hips. "Yeah, Chibs, you and Kaela search their van, see what they've got." Clay ordered with a nod of his head.

Saying nothing to Clay, Chibs and I walked away in order to do as we had been told. Yeah, I don't really like this being ordered around thing.

"You alright, sweetheart?" He questioned me as he began looting through the back of the van. "I'm fine, why?" I asked, glancing over to him from the corner of my eye. "You're shaking." He pointed out with a slight chuckle.

Instead of answering him, my eyes glanced down to the bags that Chibs had just ripped open. They were over flowing with different kinds of drugs. "Jack pot." I smiled, reaching out and grabbing one of the bags by it's straps.

Chibs grabbed the other bag, and we carried them both over to our own van where the guys were waiting. Clay didn't even bother looking at the loot. Instead he simply had them thrown into the back of the van, before we all got on our bikes and headed back to Nate's house. Only this time, things were different.

While we were gone, Tara and Gemma had taken Nate to the home- I'm sure that absolutely broke Gemma's heart.

When we got there to meet up with them, we came to find out that something had gone wrong. While Tara was inside with Nate, Gemma had taken the car and left. We could only assume that she was heading back to Charming in hopes of seeing Abel. But of course, Abel isn't there- so that lead to her finding out the truth that Abel had been kidnapped.

Her reaction to the news wasn't good. Something happened with her heart, and she fainted in the Teller-Morrow parking lot.....
