Take Me to Church

Chapter Twenty

Waking up this morning, I immediately knew that our time in Ireland was up, and it was time for us to return home. Hopefully things there hadn't gone as bad as they had here.

Then again, we did leave Tig and Kozik alone with Piney in charge. Not to mention the three new prospects in their care.

After waking up, I spent the first twenty minutes showering and getting dressed. My outfit consisted of blue jeans, a dark dirty green tank top with a green military jacket over top of it, a pair of combat boots, my rocker, and a bandana to hold my hair back.

Once I was completely dressed, I made my into the living room where everyone else was telling Maureen about McGee. I knew that she wasn't going to take the news lightly, which is why I took longer than I usually did to get ready on purpose.

Jax had just pushed himself away from the table he was leaning against, and moved to stand in the middle of the group. "I'm gonna go, the nuns will be there soon so I'll grab one of the Irish and have him navigate." Jax said with a sigh. Gemma was next to step forward from her spot next to Clay. "I'm going with you." She was determined as always. "Mom." Jax was quick to scoff at her; obviously not wanting her to go with him. "I'm going with you!" She demanded, raising her voice.

"You're going to need the truck to get the baby home." Bobby was the one to point that out, even though it should've been obvious. "Let her go. Just please, don't kill anyone." Clay ordered, not giving anyone an option in the matter. Jax, very obviously no wanting to let her go with him, shot a very upset glare in Gemmas direction; but he said nothing in return.

"Alright, we're going to run down this address." Clay spoke once more with a sigh, "You take Bobby. Opie and I will handle the nuns." Jax finally seemed to be in agreement with the situation at hand. "You just go get your boys, and we'll worry about the Irish." Chibs smiled, clapping his hand down on Jax's shoulder.

It was then that I decided I was going to go with them. I couldn't just sit by doing nothing while everyone else was out their risking their lives.

The address that Clay wanted to run down wasn't all that far away from the club, so it didn't take long at all for us to arrive. The address belonged to a small apartment; and surprise, surprise the door was locked from the inside. Though, there was a very simple fix for that- kicking the door down. Which Happy was very glad, and quick to do for us.

Once the door was open, we all very slowly made our way inside.

Bobby went in first, then Clay. Followed by Happy, myself, and finally Chibs was last to enter. The scene inside was pretty gruesome, but I just couldn't bring myself to look away. In front of me was Shaun, Kellan's right hand, and he was dead. His hands had been tied behind his back, and he had been shot in the head. Blood was splattered across the wall, and down the front of the grey t-shirt that he had been wearing.

"Check it out, teeth." Happy mumbled, using his foot to point at something on the ground in front of him. "They tortured him before killing him." Clay groaned, throwing his head back ever so slightly. I guess that explains all the blood. There had been way too much blood to have come from a single gun shot wound.

"Shit. It's Fiona and Kerrianne, they tortured him to find out where Kellan's been keeping them." Chibs cursed, suddenly overcome with worry. Clay began barking orders as we all rushed back out to our bikes. Chibs and I were the first to pull out of the lot and start back towards the club. He wanted nothing more in this moment than to insure his families safety.

When we arrived back at the club, the first thing I noticed was Kellan, Fiona, and Kerrianne all walking out of Maureen's apartment. Juice was leading the small group of people down the stairs. "What's going on?" Juice asked as they all approached us. "Shaun Casey's dead- tortured for information, had to be for Fiona's location." Clay sighed.

"It's not about Fi, but for the baby. Jimmy needs a way out of the country." Kellan said with a sad sigh.

"What?" Jax asked, stepping forward. Kellan was suddenly hesitant. "He's going to use your boy as leverage with the Kings." He explained with a soft voice. Hearing this, Jax quickly jumped into action; and even though none of us knew what exactly he was doing, we all were very quick to follow along after him.

We followed him to what looked like a very classy hotel.

"Juice, Happy, Kaela, Chibs, you all stay here- keep an eye out for Jimmy." Bobby instructed bbefore rushing off with the rest of the group. Leaving the four of us standing in a crowded lobby, waiting.

Standing there, I wrapped my arms around myself as my eyes scanned over the faces of the people passing by us. It would be so easy for me to spot Jimmy in a crowd, but what about the people work for Jimmy? The ones who are on his payroll; I have no idea what they look like. I'm pretty sure that none of us knew who they were or what they looked like.

So if Jimmy knew we were here, couldn't he just have those men walk right past us like its nothing?

We weren't there for too long, when Clay came back up to us. "Come on, we have to go." He ordered. He didn't stop walking as he spoke. We all followed him without question, and once more made our way back to the club.

When we arrived, Fiona and Kerrianne were still there, but Kellan was long gone. No one seemed to know where he went; but he arrived back at the club shortly after we did. So, once we were all here, we gathered together and I found myself sitting on the couch with Fiona and Kerrianne.

"Jimmy has your son. He's reached out to the counsel, he wants safe passage to the states for the boy. I've advised that they take the deal." Kellan informed, sitting at the table. "So, what happens now?" Jax growled, it was obvious how unhappy he was with the man. "Counsel considers it, probably meet with you. Til then, we wait." Kellan sighed. "None of this shit would have happened if you would've told us where Abel was when we got here!" Clay snapped at the older man across from him.

"I'm trying to help this family!" Kella shouted, slamming his hand down on the table. "Help us, are you serious?" Clay scoffed, jumping up.

Moving as if to pounce, Bobby and Jax were quick to jump up and stop Clay from going after Kellan. The strength of the two of them was efficient enough to hold Clay back.

"It's not his fault, it's my mistake. I'm done listening to dead men." Jax moved his eyes to glare at Kellan. "Don't pretend you were trying to help us. Greater good or not, we were just a means to your own end. You don't give a shit about this family, and the JOhn Teller you met twenty years ago didn't give a shit either."

With that, Jax stormed away, and out of the apartment.

Feeling awkward sitting there, I was about to get up and walk away when I noticed something. That something just so happened to be the teenager sitting next to me with a large smile on her face.

"Can I, uh, help you with something?" I coughed, feeling even more uncomfortable. "What's it like being a member of the club- I mean, being the first female member and all." She said with a very large smile on her face. "I'm not sure I can really say, it's still pretty new to me too. Excuse me." Flashing her a small smile in return, I stood from my spot next to her and very slowly walked away.

I found myself standing in the kitchen with Gemma. "I cannot wait to get the hell out of here and go home." Gemma muttered before taking a sip of her coffee. "As much as I love and missed this place, I can't help but agree with you there." I sighed, mimicking her actions and taking a sip of my own drink.

"I'm sorry about your father, baby." She said after a few small moments of silence between the two of us. "Don't be, it's fine." I mumbled softly, not bothering to look up from the mug I held in my hand. "How come you never told any of us that he was your father?" I could tell she wasn't happy with me just by the tone in her voice. "Clay and Chibs were the only ones who knew. Clay thought it was best that no one knew about it so no one could use it against me." I explained in a hushed tone.

I knew she wasn't going to be happy with me because of all of this, and more than likely just lost a great deal of trust for me- and possibly Clay too. But what's done is done. There's no turning back now.

Gemma and I stay together in the kitchen after that, just making random idle chit chat together. At least we did until Jax came walking into the apartment with a small bundled up baby in his arms. Gemma all but threw her mug across the room in the process of moving over to Jax.

"Oh, my gosh, Abel!" Gemma exclaimed loudly, taking the baby from Jax and holding him close.

I couldn't help but smile as I watched the scene unfolding in front of me. We were all finally together again- as a family.

Together as a family, and going home as a family.
