Take Me to Church

Chapter Twenty-Two

When I woke up the next morning, I found myself laying naked in the bed with my husband's arms wrapped around my body. It was still rather early, and as much as I wanted to stay in bed forever, I knew that we needed to get up and get to the club soon.

Gemma was throwing a family breakfast now that we're all back together again. Of course it seemed like the perfect thing to do before everyone gets whisked away to jail again.

Not ready to wake him up just yet, I reached over and grabbed my phone off of the night stand. Part of me didn't expect to see anything, so I was a bit surprised when I saw a text from Maureen and a notification text from the bank. My heart stopped beating in my chest when I saw that almost three million dollars had been deposited into my bank account. The text from Maureen was an explanation that she felt I deserved it more than she did, that my father always wanted me to be well looked after, and that's exactly what she was doing.

Not knowing how to react to this, I simply placed my phone back down on the night stand and took in a deep breath.

"Chibs. Chibs, wake up- we have to get to the club." I groaned, not wanting to get out of the bed. "I don't think so. I just want to lay in bed all day and hold my wife. I haven't gotten to do that in a while so I think I deserve it. Besides, does it really matter if we miss one of Gemma's family's meals?" He spoke without opening his eyes. Laughing slightly, I rolled over so that I was facing him.

"I think we both know that Gemma would throttle us for even thinking such a thing." I said with a sigh. It was then that Chibs opened his eyes and looked down at me. "Then I guess we should get up." He gave in rather quickly.

So, we both ever so slightly crawled out of the bed and began the process of getting dressed for the day. Chibs went in one direction, and I went in the other. The outfit I picked out was simple and would keep me cool while out in the hot, California sun. It consisted of blue jeans, a salmon tank top, matching heels, and a see through black button down. I didn't put too much make-up on, and braided my hair before pulling it over my shoulder.

I also made sure to grab my cut, my coffee cup, and a pair of sunglasses before deciding I was ready to go.

It was nice to be home, and it was even better that I was able to ride my own bike again. Chibs and I rode side by side the entire way to the club. It was really nice. Though, I knew we were late by the fact that Gemma had already arrived at the club.

Inside, things were already set up and it seemed like they were waiting for the two of us to arrive. So, as soon as we arrived all the festivities began and everyone started eating. At some point, Opie and Lyla announce that they were getting married and everyone rejoiced at the good news. They all immediately surrounded the couple and congratulated them.

I, on the other hand, stood back away from everyone. Ever since the truth came out about my father, it's felt like they were all angry with me. I felt like I had lost their trust.

It was when Lowen arrived that the festivities died down, and we all gathered in the chapel. Lowen, not being a member, stood in the open doorway. Clay was standing next to her, while the rest of us sat in our normal spots. Though, we had all turned to face the door so we could see the lawyer standing there.

"These equations were sent to me by Lenny Janowits' lawyer, don't know what it means- don't really want to know. Twenty equals zero, true. 38.358888 minus 122.28818 equals two million. True or false?" She sighed, reading off of he paper she had pulled out of her purse. Looking to Clay with a smirk playing on her lips, she offered the paper out to him; only for him to snatch it away.

"Give us a minute, will you? Gotta do the math." With that, he closed the chapel door in the woman's face before taking his seat at the head of the table. "Twenty equals zero could get a location." Piney suggested immediately.

Opie, silently, eye the man with curiosity.

"The other numbers are latitude and longitude." Juice spoke quickly, typing away on his laptop. "Two million means that we can buy Jimmy." Clay pointed out the obvious part. "Two million?" Shite!" Chibs growled out. His hand came down to where it was resting in between my thighs; but his fingers were tightly gripping the blue jean covered flesh of my leg.

"Why don't we just show up and take Jimmy? We've got enough hardware to do it." Tig scoffed.

"It's not going to be a safe house, it going to be a place for the exchange. Trust me, Putlova's bringing an army." Bobby pointed out something that should've been obvious. At least, the tone in Bobby's voice said that it should've been obvious. "Nothing can never just be simple can it?" I muttered under my breath, crossing my arms over my chest. Hearing my muttered words, Chibs squeezed my thigh ever so briefly.

"He's right, looks like an access road outside of Rio Vista. Forty minutes." Juice added with a small sigh. He had obviously looked the location up. No doubt about it. Clay seemed to think it over for a few moments, before making his next move. "Ope, tell Lowen that the equations are true." He ordered, leaning back in his seat.

Opie was quick to jump up from his seat and run to do as he had been told. It was also then that Kozik jumped up from where he was sitting in the back of the room against the wall. "Where the hell are we going to get two million? We robbing banks now?" He scoffed. Well shit, I had completely forgotten that he was still in Charming. Clay simply sighed, and looked away from the blonde male. So I decided it was time for me to speak up.

"I have it." I choked out, gaining the attention of everyone in the room- including my husband. "What the hell are you talking about?" Chibs growled out from under me. Bringing one hand up, I ran my hand over my face as I sucked in a deep breath.

"After my mom died, I inherited everything she had- which was mostly money. Ever since I turned five, she spent her life saving money and running from my dad, and this club. She wanted nothing to do with it, she threatened to disown me when she found out I was in Charming. She left everything to me in her will. And this morning, I woke up to a message from Maureen- everything my father left behind she's given to me." My voice faltered as I spoke. I felt that by not speaking up about this sooner, at least to Chibs, that I had broken whatever trust had been there.

I felt Chibs' hand fall away from my leg, and I could feel his eyes on my face- but I couldn't bring myself to look at him. None of the boys said anything at first, they were all just looking at me in awe. Clay once more sat in silence, thinking over what he was going to say next. My hands began shaking where they were resting in my lap.

I was more than surprised when Chibs' arms reached around me, and put his own hands over mine. Then, I felt him lean over and press a kiss to the side of my head and it was like my body immediately calmed itself.

"No. You keep your money, Kaela." Clay finally spoke, waving my offer off like it was nothing. "Please Clay, let me do this. You wouldn't let me help go get Abel back, and I have to do something." I burst out, slamming my hand down on the table. "No, we'll figure out another way to get the money." With that, the conversation ended. I don't know why I didn't fight more, why I didn't try to convince him to let me help. I guess some part of me just knew that this wasn't a fight I would win.

It was then that Jax came walking into the room, carrying a large white box; and Chucky came walking in behind him. "What is this?" Clay asked a Jax put the box down on the table. Jax simply turned around and looked at Chucky. "Tell them." Jax ordered.

"After Tara was kidnapped, I tried to tell you guys about this. When I was running the counterfeit operation for Lin, I was supposed to throw away all the misprints and dirty runs- well I didn't." Chucky seemed to get excited as he pointed to the box that Jax had previously been carrying. So, Jax reached over and pulled the lid away from the box, revealing what was inside. "He's got three boxes full. Twenties, fifties, and hundreds- over five mill in fake currency." Jax explained further.

Suddenly, things didn't seem so bleak for the club. Everyone was quick to rejoice and reach out to grab at the fake currency.

After a few minutes, the commotion died down and we got back down to business. "Every one of these bills is irregular. Any scrutiny, and the Russians will know." Bobby shook his head as he looked over the bills he held in his hand. "Maybe we need to create some kind of distraction." Clay sighed, leaning back in his seat.

I was quite understanding how we were going to make all of this work.

"Putlova's too smart. I don't see how this is going down without it getting bloody." Bobby spoke again. Upon hearing his words, I grew worried and found myself clutching onto my husband's arm. He, in turn, once more put his hand on my thigh and gave my leg a reassuring squeeze. "Well then, we better bring everyone in case it does." Clay's words weren't reassuring.

"If we can run some of the money with real cash, it may buy us some time to get Jimmy out of there." Jax was the one to suggest the idea. "I've got forty bucks in my pocket." Clay scoffed. Jax was quiet for a moment before getting an idea, which he and Clay were quick to jump up and put into action.

After that, everyone gathered around and got supplies ready. Juice and Kozik were the ones to carry a stack of bullet proof vests into the room and set them down on the table. One for each of us.

"You sure you want to do this, love? You can stay here if you want to." Chibs mumbled, adjusting the straps of the vest I had just pulled over my torso. It clung tightly to me, making it hard for me to move as I pulled the black over shirt back on over it. "I'm sure, we're going to make Jimmy pay for everything he's done to our family." I spoke softly, reaching out and placing my hands on his chest.

Noticing that he wasn't all too convinced , I moved my hands up from his chest so that they were resting on the sides of his face- my fingers brushed lightly over his scars. "I want you to listen to me, very carefully. We are going to do this, and then we will be free of Jimmy for good, okay?" I smiled up at him.

Thinking over what I said, he nodded his head slowly before leaning down and pressing his lips against my forehead. Reaching up, he grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. "Together." He mumbled.

After that, we all made our way outside with everyone else, and Jax's plan was set into motion. Even with what I had just said to Chibs, I was still worried that something was going to go wrong. After leaving the club, our group was made up of myself, Chibs, Piney, and Opie. Instead of going with the group, we ended up ditching the bikes and stealing a school bus. Piney drove, Opie was directly behind him, Chibs and I sat behind and across from Opie; while Kozik was behind and across from where we were sitting.

It was when I looked at Chibs that I noticed something. "Chibs, where the hell did you get a juice box?" I scoffed.

In one of his hands was a small juice box, and in the other it looked like he was holding a small cookie. "Kaela, we're on a school bus. Some kid forgot their lunch and I got hungry- want some?" He questioned, holding the box of juice out in my direction. I couldn't help but laugh loudly at him.

"You are such a fucking child!" I laughed. No one else who was around payed any attention to us. Piney continued driving, Opie kept his eyes forward, while Kozik just sat back looking angry.

After driving or a while, we pulled off of the road, where Unser's police car and an ATF car parked on the side of the road. Seeing us pull up, Unser was quick to pull out his gun and aim it at Sthall. Once we were completely stopped, Kozik was first to jump off of the bus through the back.

Opie was first to walk out through the front of the bus, then Chibs, and I followed behind them. PIney opted to stay on the bus and keep watch.

"You've got to be shitting me, what's going on here?" Sthall exclaimed as Opie walked over and disarmed her. I watched in silence as Chibs marched over to the ATF car and drug Jimmy out of the back seat. Forcing Jimmy over to the bus, Chibs shoved the man back against the side of the bus.

Slowly, I walked over to stand behind my husband before putting my arms around him. My hands ran up the sides of his arms before running down the front of his chest. Noticing Jimmy was watching me, my eyes narrowed down into a glare, and a low, defensive growl escaped from the back of my throat. Chibs was quick to lean back against me. "Kaela, darling, you look ravishing." Jimmy winked in my direction.

My stomach immediately churned, and I felt like I was going to hurl.

Saying nothing, my hands went to work. Slipping up under his jacket, my fingers wrapped around the hilt of two small knives. Pulling them out from their sheaths and out from under the jacket, I silently offered them out to Chibs. He was hesitant for a few moments before reaching out and taking them out of my hands.

Then, I moved my hands so that they were lightly resting on his shoulders. "I want you to think. Think about all the ways Jimmy has tormented you, how he's hurt you and your family. How he took your wife and daughter, and forced you out of your home. Let that anger fill you, and further fuel your hatred. Now, I want you to use that hatred, and kill the man standing in front of you." I spoke softly in his ear.

With that, I took a step back and watched my work unfold.

Breathing heavy, Chibs brought the knives across the skin of Jimmy's cheeks, before shoving them down into his chest- effectively killing him. Jimmy's body fell lifeless to the ground next to the bus.

Wiping the blood away from the knives, Chibs took a deep breath as he turned around to face me. There was a menacing look in his eyes that I had never really seen before. To be completely honest, it was kind of arousing. Putting the knives away, he put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his body before turning back around to look at Opie.

He dragged Sthall over to the ATF car, and made her sit in the front seat before climbed into the back seat. "This is insanity, Opie, do you have any idea what kind of hear this will bring the club?!" Sthall cried out.

"Put your hands on the wheel." Opie ordered in a monotone voice. Crying, Sthall ever so slowly did as she was told before crying out again. "Please, Opie, you had mercy before- I'm begging you, don't do this. " Man, she really is an ugly cryer. "This is what she felt." Opie whispered before shooting. It was also then that Chibs used a black bandana to draw the IRA symbol on the window of the car.

Perfect way to make it seem like Irish had done this.

WIth that, we all climbed back on to the bus and made our way back to where we had parked our bikes. The entire bus ride, Chibs kept his fingers wrapped tightly around my thigh.

Hopefully now that Jimmy was gone, things would get easier for us all.

Sorry it's been forever since I've updated you guys- but I promise that I will be posting more and more soon. Please hang in there with me.
I disappeared due to the fact that my sister finally had her baby, so it's a bit hard to do anything while I'm at home.
