Take Me to Church

Chapter Twenty-Six

Thomas was born about two weeks later, and Abel absolutely adored his new baby brother. It warmed my heart to see it. Most children his age didn't take too well to not being the center of attention anymore.

In the time that passed, the boys helped Tara get back on her feet. Or, they attempted to at least. As soon as she was able, Tara went back to work and got Gemma to watch the baby for her instead of putting the new born into day care. Seeing the boys with the new born warmed my heart as well, it was a wonderful sight to see.

Today, just so happened, to be the day that the rest of the club was being released from jail. So things were a bit stressful this morning. Piney and Opie spent all morning loading the guys bikes up into the back of the van. While I stood off to the side with Abel and Dyna. Abel, was in absolute awe of the large dog standing by my side.

Dyna had grown to be about twice Abel's size, and came up to just above my hips. She was already huge and still had a lot of growing to do.

Tara had taken the day off for the boys homecoming, and was standing in the shade with Gemma and Thomas. The weather had shifted once again, and it was now ninety-seven degrees outside; so my outfits no longer consisted of long sleeves and sweaters. In fact, my outfit for today consisted of a pink cami that was tied up so that my stomach was bare, blue jeans, my cut, pink vans, and a choker around my neck. And as always, a gun tucked away in the holster under my cut.

"Hey Abel, can you do me a favor?" I asked the small boy standing by my side. He looked up at me with wide eyes, and immediately nodded his head. "Why don't you watch Dyna for me while we're gone? Then when we get back, we'll have your daddy with us." I smiled down at him.

"Okay!" Abel immediately nodded his head, before grabbing onto Dyna's collar. They quickly went running off over to where Gemma and Tara were standing together. I then made my way over to the van where Piney was waiting and climbed into the front seat. Chibs and Opie road their bikes in front of the van, leading the way. When we got there, we had just enough time to get the bikes out of the van before the boys were released.

Smiling, I made my way over to Juice and gave him his cut. Chibs did the same with Bobby, Opie with Jax, and surprisingly Kozik with Tig. It was quite shocking to see the two of them smile and embrace each other into a hug. Scary even.

"Lets get the hell out of here!" Clay laughed, climbing onto his bike. The boys all follow suit, while I made my way back to the van with Piney. All the boys flipped off the prison as we drove away- I couldn't help but laugh at them as I saw it.

Clay had us all stop briefly when he saw where Hale was in the process of trying to get Charming Heights. He wasn't going to be happy about it.

The, when we were driving back into town we were stopped again. The new Sheriff, Roosevelt, had his men blocking off the road so that we couldn't get through. Roosevelt replace Unser as sheriff shortly after the boys got locked up. Since we haven't had many problems since then, we hadn't really had any run ins with the new sheriff.

"Well now, if you're the welcoming committee I was kinda hoping for flowers. Maybe a bunt cake" Clay smirked, climbing off of his idling bike and taking his helmet off. "Sorry, no cake." Roosevelt said simply. "What the hell is this man?" Jax questioned, stepping forward with Clay.

"Just a heads up that Charming is now under San Juan Kings Sheriff's department jurisdiction." Roosevelt was very calm, and almost intimidating. "I'm guessing that's you." Clay, however, sounded like a smart ass. "Lieutenant Roosevelt, Charming, Meirada, station is my command." Boy was he proud of it too. "Well, you got your show of how big your stick is, Teddy. Can we go?" Jax was just annoyed.

I can understand why though. The man only wants to get home to his wife and kids- wants to meet his newborn child.

"Conditions of release; no gang colors or identifying clothing may be worn in public." Roosevelt ignored Jax. "We're not a gang, we're just a motorcycle club." Clay chuckled ever so slightly.

"Federal government disagrees. So, the next time I see any one of you who got out today wearing cuts, well, they'll belong to me." Roosevelt said with a smile. I don't like him, I already want to get rid of him. With that, Roosevelt stepped aside and his men moved out of the way so that we could get through.

We headed straight for the club after that. I have no doubt in my mind that the boys wanted nothing more than to get home.

Gemma and Tara were at the front of the group when we pulled into the lot.

Tara was holding Thomas in her arms. Abel was standing between Tara and Gemma, still holding tightly onto Dyna's collar. I watched in silence as everyone welcomed the boys home.

Jax embraced Tara tightly, and introduced him to Thomas. I stood by in silence, and Dyna came trotting over and say down by my side. I placed my hand on her head between her ears and gave a small scratch knowing she would love it. "Whoa, Kaela, when did you get a horse?" Tig laughed, approaching me.

"This is Dyna. Chibs and I took her in about a week after you all went inside." I flashed him a small smile. Stepping forward, Dyna sniffed Tig carefully before licking the mans hand.

"Chapel, ten minutes." Clay informed us all loudly from a few feet away. I had been so focused on everyone coming home that I didn't even think about church. But now that I think of it, it does make sense that we would do exactly that.

Shaking my head slightly, I followed along as everyone began making their way into the club. As soon as the chapel doors closed behind us, we got right down to business.

Chibs moved to the safe, while I made myself comfortable in his seat. "Gentlemen, your combat pay." Chibs smiled, passing out a wad of cash to each of the men who had just gotten home. "I knew that two years of community college would pay off." Bobby laughed at his own joke.

"Even if it's a small percentage of these new guns it is pretty sweet. Mayans, Italians, Niners, everybody loves 'em." Opie informed. Once Chibs was finished handing all the money out, he walked over to where I was sitting. When I didn't move, he put his hands up under my arms, lifted me up and then sat down in the chair before setting me in his lap. "Small percentages are over." Jax smiled. It was then that I noticed his haircut. It was almost distracting.

"Piney, Ope, Kozik, Kaela, Chibs. You did an outstanding job holding all this together; making this new business work." Clay thanked us all. I wasn't sure why he was thanking me, I had absolutely nothing to do with any of it. In fact, I didn't even know it had happened.

"It was no hard work, brother. We just grunted out day by day." Chibs was the next to speak.

"Well, you've got my deepest appreciation." Clay reiterated. "Absolutely." Jax nodded his head in agreement, before clapping his hands together. Everyone followed along, clapping their hands together and saying thanks and making random noises. Once it died down, Clay immediately jumped into the next topic.

"So, what's new with our mayor's mansion utopia?" Now we were getting down to business. "The rich are fleeing Stockton, the city's a war zone. Hale's got a shit load of pre-sales and just needs a few more investors before he starts swinging hammers." Opie said the facts that most of us already knew. "This, uh, Oswald Construction bit, what is it? Some sort of consolation prize from Hale?" Clay sounded confused.

"When Half pushed that 99 ramp through city council, all that timber land became imminent domain. So Hale's letting him make it up with lumber and labor." Piney spoke, waving his hand around as he did so.

Slowly, Kozik leaned forward and was the next to open his mouth. "Charming's pretty much embraced it, Clay. I mean it provides construction jobs, doubles the out put at the mill." He licked his lips as he spoke. "Short term. Hale's building homes in this town that no one in this town can afford. Anybody else see a problem with that? I mean, Jacob Hale's been lying his trap for more than five years now, city counsel's, foning committee, getting ride of Charming PD? No, we're not going to let this happen." Clay wasn't happy.

I did see where he was coming from, but I wasn't about to voice my opinion. Everyone else around me stay quiet as well.

"Black and proud Sheriff Roosevelt, who the hell is he?" Jax asked, a familiar tone hidden behind his voice. "Not much, sort of gangland task force from Oakland." Chibs was the one to answer him. One of his arms wrapped around my waist, and he held me close as he leaned forward and placed his other arm on the table in front of us.

"He's been working a few months, he's let us know he's here but this is the first time he's whipped his dick out." Opie scoffed. "He's been pretty low key." Kozik added. "Not anymore." Tig growled out. "I guess today was about letting us know it's not going to be business as usual." Jax as with a sigh. "We're going to have to dig pretty deep into this guy." Clay just barely mumbled out.

"You're not going to get this shit off on your payroll. This boy's a straight up cop." Piney spoke, his hands shook slightly as he rolled a joint. Clay just sat silently, glaring at the older man.

"Alright, the meet is set with Putlova. The jellybean light." Chibs was the one to change the subject, however I wasn't sure that I had heard him right. I blame the accent. "What is it with Russians and strippers?" Jax scoffed out of humor. "Strippers? You been to the jellybean? It's horse meat in a g-string." Opie looked over at Jax like he was absolutely crazy.

Oh, so it's a strip club. Okay then.

"I love the jellybean man." Tig smiled shyly. "Of course you do." Juice smirked, shaking his head as if disappointed. "I love it too." Happy announced, instigating. "And the freak circle is complete." Juice didn't even bother looking at Happy as he spoke.

"Ope, everything set?" Jax asked, once more changing the subject. This time we would be discussing Opie marrying Lyla. Tonight. "Yeah, he's going to let us use the South East reservation. The exit off of 18 at six o'clock, I know how much money is in those envelopes, those wedding gifts better not be bullshit." Opie gave all of the men a playful but serious warning.

"Alright, we all got our marching orders. This is a very big day, let's get it done." Clay spoke, dismissing us all. With that, we all walked out of the chapel- only to be approached by Miles. "Clay, we got company outside. Two sheriffs watching us down the block." Miles informed us all, pointing to the tv screen that was playing the camera feeds.

"Roosevelt. He's probably gonna tail." Jax growled out. "If he does, he can't follow all of us. I want Jax and Opie with me. Need the rest of you to help get us there. Miles, I need you to drive the tow truck behind us." Obviously, Clay was rather quick to come up with a plan. "Is that because you're upset with me?" Miles questioned, with an almost scared tone in his voice.

"We're on parole genius, we can only congregate if we're working." Juice pointed out to Miles as Chibs wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "Hey, come on man I should be with you." Tig complained to Clay, obviously upset. "I'll be alright." Clay all but waved him off as he slipped a jack on over his cut. Bobby was quick to notice and move over to stand next to Tig. "We get to do the fun stuff." Bobby reassured. "Promise?" Tig asked, putting his own arm around Bobby.

Since I hadn't in a while, I decided to ride on Chibs' bike with him.

Jax was right. It was Roosevelt's men and they were trailing us. We were just barely able to see them back behind the tow truck. A few of us pulled off to the side of the road, allowing Roosevelt's men to pull up behind the others before we surrounded them. Chibs and I were directly next to the drive side door- so close that they could open the door and knock us over.

Once we slowed them down, Tig signaled for Clay, Opie and Jax to go on ahead of us. "Clear the road." Roosevelt's men demanded through the loud speaker. He then swerved, nearly hitting us. Chibs shouted right as the man swerved towards us once more.

This time, they came in contact with the bike causing Chibs to lose control for a few moments. I clung to my husband tightly fearing that we were going to crash.

As soon as Chibs regained control of the bike, we rejoined the rest of the group.

Behind us, Happy was repeatedly kicking the car. Roosevelt's men slammed on the breaks, causing the car to spin and almost hit the tow truck. The truck ran off of the road, while the cops turned and began following us- this time with their sirens blaring loudly.

I wish I could say that in the end we got away from then; but seeing as we had to keep them from following Clay, we had to let them catch us. So, we ended up hand cuffed on the side of the road.

"Bobby, you getting anything for Ope?" Tig asked him like nothing was wrong. "I was just gonna give him cash." Bobby shrugged his shoulders. "What are you giving him?" happy asked, looking towards Chibs and I. "A lot more than you cheap ass bastards that's for sure" My husband scoffed, shaking his head. Juice and I just about lost it laughing.

"Cheap? More like mindful of excessive spending." Happy clarified.

"Dude, you reuse condoms." Miles pointed out. Upon hearing this, my stomach did a flip and I felt like I was going to be sick. "What about you, Juice?" I was more than thankful when Bobby changed the subject. "I'm giving them both ten sessions at Clear Passages." Juice announced proudly. Slowly, every one of us turned our heads to look at him.

"It's the herbal and colonic weed shop in West View, I own twenty percent." Juice continued to smile widely. "That is so disturbing." Tig shook his head. "Have you ever seen the contents of a lower colon?" Juice questioned.

"Oh jesus." Chibs muttered under his breath, leaning his head back. "Now I think I understand why I'm the only female in this club." I sighed, leaning back against my husband where we sat on the side of the road. "What do you mean by that?" Happy asked, looking down my way. "I mean, you guys are down right disgusting. You all make me sick to my stomach sometimes!" I pointed out.

The next thing I knew, we were being released. As soon as we were, we got back onto the bikes and made our way back to the club. We had very little time once we got back to the club, in order to get everything ready and get out to the reservation in time.

Chibs and I walked together down the hall and into the apartment we share. I was standing in front of the closet with my arms over my chest when Chibs came walking up behind me. His arms wrapped around my waist and pressed a kiss up against my shoulder. "Can't figure out what to wear can you, love?" He asked in an ever so slightly mocking tone.

"I really can't." I sighed, leaning back against him. "Why not the little black dress you bought when shopping with Lyla a few weeks ago?" He suggested with a soft voice. "Well, because that is lingerie, not a dress. And I am not going to wear that out in public- you are the only one allowed to see me in that." I scoffed playfully. Removing one of his arms from around me, he reached out and grabbed one of the first articles of clothing he could reach. It just so happened to be a tight, red dress.

"And how the hell do you expect me to ride in this?" I asked, looking over the dress he was holding out in front of me. "You'll ride with me." He smiled confidently. Well now, how could I pass that up?

So, I gave in and decided to wear the dress that he had picked out for me. I picked out a par of matching, open toe heels to wear along with it. I also decided to surprise him, and snuck the piece of lingerie on underneath the dress as well.

Once the outfit had been decided, I was quick to change into the outfit before moving on to fix my hair and my make up. Taking my hair down out of the pony tail, I picked up the heated curling iron and put some loose ringlets into my red hair. As for my make up, I touched up my foundation, my lipstick was a dark shade of red that just so happened to match the dress, and my eyeliner was a very dark black with sharp wings and smokey eye shadow to match.

Chibs changed out of his raggedy shirt, and into a more wedding appropriate button down shirt. Then, to finish off both of our looks, we put our cuts back on before walking out of the apartment.

We waited out in the bar for everyone else; but as soon as they were ready we all left together and made our way to the reservation together.

Since Lyla couldn't have her own father walk her down the aisle, Piney was the one to have that honor. Her dress was traditional white, but it just barely covered her. She did look amazing in it though.

"Brothers and sisters, we come together today under the all seeing eye of nature, to witness the blessed joining of Opie and Lyla. I'd like to share with you a blessing of the Apache. Now you'll feel no pain, for each of you will be shelter for the other. Now you'll feel no cold, for you will always be warmth for each other. Now you will feel no loneliness, for you will always be each others companion. Now you are two persons, with one life before you. May beauty and peace surround you on your journey and all the years to come."

Opie turned to Jax silently to get the rings. Though he acted as if he didn't have them for a moment, before pulling them out of his pocket. This made both Opie and Lyla laugh mockingly at him.

"With this ring, I vow my love. I promise to always be faithful and loving wife, and old lady." Lyla spoke, placing the ring on Opie's finger. He smiled widely at her words before moving to mimic her actions. "With this ring, I vow my love. I promise to always cherish and protect you." Opie spoke, moving to place the ring on Lyla's finger.

But Jax was quick to lean forward, "What else?" Jax smirked. We all knew and anticipated the words that were to come next.

"I promise to treat you as good as my leather, and ride you as much as my Harley." Opie rolled his eyes as everyone spoke the words along with him. I laughed loudly as Chibs' arm went around my shoulders and he kissed the top of my head. Opie had a cheesy smile on his face, and Lyla was laughing as well. "By the power vested in me, by the laws of the Wahewa, and the state of California, I now pronounce you man and wife. Have at it."

Opie pulled Lyla close and kissed his new wife. Everyone was quick to erupt into cheers and begin clapping for the newly weds. Next came the after party.

Clay, Bobby, Juice and Chibs all had to go to the Russians warehouse to take care of some business, so I was left alone. Too bad Dyna couldn't be here to keep my company. I found myself sitting at a table, completely by myself with a drink sitting in front of me. Opie was dancing with Lyla and none of the others were anywhere to be found.

Though, they weren't gone as long as the others. I was quick to noticed when Jax showed back up and began dancing with Tara. The longer I sat by myself, the more my eyes searched for my husband among the crowd.

My heart all but stopped when I finally saw him standing in the middle of the dance floor, walking towards me. Butterflies filled my stomach as I took in his appearance. I stood from my seat and began walking towards him- leaving my drink unattended at the forgotten table.

"Care to dance?" He asked, his hand coming down to rest of my waist, while his other grabbed my own hand. I couldn't help but smile as he pulled me against him and we began dancing to the slow song that was playing around us.

"I have a surprise for you." I whispered in his ear. Pulling back ever so slightly, he looked down at me with a interested look. "Oh do you now?" He chuckled. My lips curled up into a smile as I looked him in the eye. "I just so happen to be wearing that little black piece of lace you picked out for me under my dress." I laughed in his ear.

Suddenly, his body stopped moving along with the music, and we stood motionless amidst the crowd of people dancing around us. "Well then, let's go home, huh?" He smirked. Not letting go of my hand, the two of us walked away from the party and the dancing and made our way to our secluded home on the edge of town.

Sorry it's been a while, I've been so wrapped up in reading all these new books that my parents have been buying me, I completely forgot about posting. I apologize.
