Take Me to Church

Chapter Forty-One

After the funeral, Chibs and I spent a few days away from the club. We just needed a couple of days to ourselves. Most of those days, were spent in silence.

The first day, I spent sitting on the couch feeling numb. My body wouldn't respond to anything I wanted it to do. I couldn't bring myself to speak, and I didn't even want to eat. Chibs only got me to eat by mentioning my lack of eating messing with the baby. He took care of my that day. Wrapped me in a blanket, and let me sit on the couch- checking on me ever so often. He even put me to bed that night.

The second day. things almost seemed like they were going back to normal; but we both knew things were far from it.

I could see the pain in Chibs' eyes, the horror that was watching our brother die. It effected us all; but none of us as much as those who witnessed it. This was something that none of us would be getting past any time soon.

The third day, the numb feeling had returned when I woke up. Only this time, I wasn't going to let it stop me. Climbing out of bed, I quickly made my way into the bathroom, I wanted to shower. Today, Chibs and I were going back to the club for the first time since Opie's funeral.

I found Chibs standing in the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist, and water droplets running down his bare chest. "How long have you been awake?" I questioned, leaning back against the bathroom counter. "Just long enough to shower, everything alright?" He took a step closer to me. "Yeah fine, just woke up and you were gone. I was gonna take a shower." I shrugged my shoulders lightly.

Taking another step towards me, he put his hands on my hips and lifted me up to sit on top of the bathroom counter. My legs opened ever so slightly, allowing him to stand between them as my arms wrapped lightly around his shoulders.

"I mean, is everything alright with you. How are you feeling?" He asked, looking down into my eyes. "Slowly getting better, emotionally. Physically, feeling pretty nauseated." I said with a sighed, and shrugging my shoulders.

"Think you can make it today?" He chuckled softly. Reaching up, he pushed my tangled hair out of my face. "I'll be fine, already got everything set up. So we'll see you at the spot." I nodded my head. He looked me over for a few seconds before nodding his head as well. "Alright, good. Gotta meet up with Jax, so I'll see you at church, aye?"He questioned. "Of course." I nodded.

Saying nothing else he gave me a kiss before walking out of the bathroom. Jumping down off of the counter, I decided to skip the shower for now. Instead, I fixed my hair and did my make-up. Something simple that would match whatever outfit I picked. When I walked out of the bathroom, Chibs was fully dressed and shoving his feet down into his boots. "I thought you were taking a shower?" He questioned upon seeing me standing there. "I'll just shower later." I shrugged my shoulders, heading towards the closet.

"I'll see you at the club in a bit, love." He gave my hand a slight squeeze before leaving.

Getting dressed, my outfit was simple. A pair of jeans, a reddish brown tank top, with a geometric cardigan, and a pair of vans. I had my cut but didn't bother putting it on just yet. I grabbed my phone, wallet, and keys before locking up the house, leaving on my bike through the garage. It wasn't often that I got to ride alone anymore, and soon I won't be able to ride at all.

So, I decided to take the long way to the club, letting my hair blow in the wind and my mind wonder. I felt free from all of my burdens. At least for a few minutes.

At the club, I parked my bike in line with everyone else's before making my way inside. The boys were already in the chapel, waiting for my arrival before getting started. I took my normal spot on Chibs' lap, and flashed everyone an apologetic smile.

"Meeting's all set with Galaan and the cartel- finally get this big gun deal locked down. Make green and brown happy." Jax jumped right into things. There was no more time to waste. "It's black that worries me." Clay almost had a smirk on his face as he spoke. "Everyone else too. People putting this home invasion shit on the club." Frankie spoke as well. "Yeah, locals are very skittish man." Gogo added his two cents as well. I was almost surprised when Greg didn't speak.

"We can't control what people think. Charming's love and hate swings back and forth on us. It always has." Jax tried calming the situation. "Be aware son, as long as the attacks keep happening, that hate swings too far out- may never get that love back." Clay spoke again. Something about the comments he and the Nomads had been making seemed too rehearsed, unnatural.

"You guys are full of shit, town knows these attacks aren't on us." Tig quickly stepped in. Glad to know I wasn't the only one who thought they were full of shit. "That's right." Both Happy and Juice were quick to back up Tig. "You calling us liars, Tiggy?" Gogo growled out. I couldn't stop myself. "If he's not, then I just might be." I threatened, leaning forward and pushing myself up on my feet ever so slightly.

Chibs hand down almost immediately on my thigh, just below my ass. It wasn't really a spank even though it was hard enough to be considered one; but I knew that was his way of telling me to shut the hell up as he pulled me back down onto his lap. "No, what they're saying is that the three of you don't know shit about our town." Chibs shouted at the Nomads.

"Know Roosevelt's gonna be up our ass." Finally Greg spoke. Ah, the circle of idiots has been completed. "I'm sitting down with Pope as soon as he's back in town." Jax cut back into the conversation. "If it's black it'll stop. End of discussion." Clay looked defeated as his step son brought the argument to an end. I felt smug.

"It ain't the attacks we should be worried about boys. It's the coke mule. We've got to figure out an end game." Chibs spoke up, focusing mostly on Jax. Part of me knew that this was his way of trying to keep up safe for the baby's sake. "He's right." Jax was quick to agree with my husband. "You want out?" Frankie questioned, sounding confused. Like he couldn't believe we didn't want to be involved with drugs. "I want to stay alive! We've lost three brothers since this started; and I don't want that to happen to the rest of this family, my wife especially!" Chibs yelled at the man down the table. "Maybe you forgot that little truck burning incident, happened out on 108?" Tig huffed.

Tig was referencing the night Chibs brought home a half burnt alive Phil.

"Look, business with the cartel does bring in a lot of cash; but it brings in a lot of heat, man. We voted this in knowing it would be short-term. I'm also looking for other ways to earn, steady cash without risk." Jax explained. The table was quiet for a few moments as they thought over what Jax had just said to us.

"It's pink, wet, and tastes like sunshine." Bobby hinted with a very obvious smirk on his face. "Pussy!" Happy was quick to guess. "Or Italian Ice, I'm good with both." Tig had to make a joke of his own.

I couldn't help but laugh loudly at his words, it was nice that we could joke about things like this.

"Nero Padilla- guy who gave us safe haven before we went into county. He's been running a legit escort service for five years. Recently got pushed out of Stockton due to our competition, so he's looking for a new place to set up shop. I've made a deal with him, and I'm going to be his partner. I'm gonna tap into CaraCara and add some star power to our stable." Jax pitched to the rest of us.

"What's it look like to the rest of us?" Clay was first to ask. "Right now, I'm fronting the deal, but I want this to be club business." Jax answers immediately. "You trust this guy?" Clay asked again, sounding unsure of Nero. Of course he didn't trust his wife's boyfriend.

"I do, he's straight up about profit." Jax's words were stern and strong. "What kind of money is it?" Phil asked, the burns on his face were still healing. I was glad that someone other than Clay and the Nomads were joining the conversation. "It ain't as lucrative as hauling coke, but it'll keep us comfortable." Jax answered the question honestly.

"And out of fed cross hairs." Bobby added quickly. "When it's up and running, take a look. If you want in, we'll vote it." Jax decided.

"Why wait? Let's vote it now." As always, Clay was quick to challenge the decision of the younger man who sat at the head of the table. Jax took a few moments to think over the challenge before nodding his head.

"Alright, who wants to move into the companion business. Yea." So began the vote. Everyone jumped in and were more than happy to vote for it. Including me. A legal business venture that wouldn't put me or my husband in jail, or kill us. So, why wouldn't I vote for it? "Good. We'll figure out percentages when I nail shit down with Nero." Jax finished, dropping the gavel. It was as he spoke that I noticed Gogo staring at me.

"Just what the fuck are you looking at?" I growled out. My sudden, and threatening tone seemed to pause everyone's movements around us.

"You were quick to vote that in. Seeing you're an Old Lady, I'm just wondering if it's him that's wanting some porn star pussy, or you. I would only assume with how the two of you act that you wouldn't be open to sharing; but hey, if he'll let me, I wouldn't mind going for a spin." Gogo said with a wink.

I could feel my husband tense up underneath me. Putting my hand on his chest, I used the leverage to once more push myself to my feet. I considered my words carefully before speaking.

"I voted that in because as an Old Lady, I trust my husband completely. While you're trying to find change to pay for your hooker, I know my husband has found pussy so amazing that he'd never feel the need to crawl into bed with some skank. I voted this is because I know he's loyal, and loves me and our unborn child, so why don't you fucking blow me." I snapped, turning and walking away. I could hear all the boys laughing loudly from behind me as I went.

Rushing out of the chapel after me, Chibs grabbed me by the hand and pulled me back into him. "That, was fucking amazing." He laughed loudly before leaning down and giving me a kiss. "Why, thank you." I laughed slightly.

We stood there, clinging to one another for a few moments as the rest of the boys went walking past us. "I should probably get going, I told our friend I would be at the diner soon." I told him with a small sigh. "Alright, love. I'll see you in a little while. Be safe." He said before giving me a small kiss.

Hand in hand, we walked out of the club together and met the rest of the boys outside. Chibs and I were parked next to one another, allowing me to watch him straddle his bike and ride away with the rest of the boys.

Once they were gone, I left as well, heading in the opposite direction.

The diner was farther away than I had expected- making me late for our meeting. Nero was right though, I recognized her as soon as I saw her. She was twice my size, even sitting down I could tell that she towered over me. "You must be Venus." I smiled as I approached the table that the woman was sitting at.

She looked me over for a few moments before a large smile appeared on her face and she moved to stand up next to me. "You lovely little thing, you must be Kaela. Such a pretty little thing, aren't you?" She ran her thumb over my cheek. I couldn't stop the smile that broke out over my face at the sound of her words. "Thank you, I am Kaela, and I will be your escort to our meeting this afternoon." I informed her with a smile on my face. "Alright dear, just let me pay my bill and we'll be on our way." She informed me.

She did exactly as she said and paid her bill, then we walked out of the diner together. I rode my bike, while she followed behind me in her car. Our destination was only about a ten minute drive away from the diner. I didn't have to see the bikes to know that boys were already here; they said that they would be, and I trusted them.

Chucky was there too. Upon my knocking on the door, he was the one to open the door to let us inside. I very quickly noticed the look of awe that came over Tig's face when he saw the woman behind me.

"Venus Van Dam at your pleasure." She smiled, handing her large purse over to Chucky. I made my way over to the couch where Chibs was sitting, and sat down on the arm of the couch. "Venus, thanks for coming." Jax smiled at the woman. "Not yet, baby. You gotta eat dinner before you get desert. Is he dead, because I don't do dead." She questioned us open seeing the rather large man that was tied to a chair. "Nero explain the situation? I need to know what happens here stays here." Jax reiterated. A smirk fell on Venus' lips.

"All of my dates have that need, baby; but discretion ain't cheap." She explained rather simply. "I was told, uh, two grand?" Jax muttered, offering a large stack of money over to the woman.

"You were told correctly. My lips are sealed. Although, I might open them up a little bit for you. Or even some play time with the cute Irish baby doll you've got." She chuckled, pointing over her shoulder to where I was sitting on the couch. I felt my eyes go wide, and my face flush a deep red as the boys looked at me and laughed.

"He's been spending a little too much time at the pie eating table. What, exactly, am I supposed to do with Shamu here?" She questioned, very obviously not looking forward to the answer. "Uh....just ride him a bit I guess. Maybe a few other things. He won't remember anything." Jax was cut off before he could say anything else. "But unfortunately, I will. Uh, where's the power room?" She questioned, looking around.

This time, Tig stepped forward to talk to her, holding her hand in his hands. "It's, uh, right back there beautiful. I can, uh, give you a hand if you want." Tig spoke, sounding almost out of breath as he spoke to the woman.

Moving forward, she leaned in to where her lips were right next to his ear. "It's not going to happy, tiger." She whispered before walking away.

She walked down the small hallway and disappeared into the small bathroom. Once she was out of the room, I let out a breath I hadn't realized I had been holding in. Leaning back against my husband, I made myself comfortable.

I must have dozed off sitting there.

The next thing I knew, someone was screaming very loudly, causing my eyes to snap open. Only to see the large man who had been tied up, now had a mouthful of Tig's ass and was biting down hard. Hard enough to draw a pool of blood into his mouth.

A few of us, including Chibs and I, hurried to get Tig back to the club house. Tara was already waiting there for our arrival.

We got Tig laid out on the table in the chapel, and got him situated so that Tara could get right to work. This would make the second time that Tara has had to stitch up bloody bite marks on Tig's ass. I watched her intensely, worried about the slightly tremor that was taking over her hand. When she noticed my eyes on her, she cleared her throat before stepping aside and allowing Chibs to take over.

I stayed up by Tig's head, allowing him to hold my hand and squeeze it whenever he felt the need to do so. Once Chibs had finished the stitches, he dressed the wound and gave Tig some pain killers to get him through the night.

"We're all done here. Why don't we go home, love?" Chibs said with a smile as he approached me from the kitchen, after having washed his hands. He had a wash cloth in his hands, using it to dry to water droplets off of his skin. I couldn't help but smile up at my husband lovingly. "Yes please, I would love to go home with you." I laughed.
