Take Me to Church

Chapter Eight

The boys didn't get back until the middle of the night. I woke up to the sound of Chibs coming into the apartment, and crawling into the bed with me.

They, of course, had business to take care of in the morning, while I was going to go with Gemma and Tara. We were goin to go to the store to get some supplies we were running short on thanks to the lock down. Then, we also need to stop by Tara and Jax's place to pick up some things for Abel.

I didn't put too much care into the outfit I decided to wear today, It consisted of ripped up jeans, a white and black skeleton top, and some heels. As usual, I had my coffee cup, and a full flask shoved down into my back pocket. My hair was up in a messy bun, and a pair of aviators on top of my head.

"You still going with Gemma and Tara, love?" Chibs asked upon seeing me walk into the bar. Even though I got more sleep than he had, he woke up a long time before I did. "Yeah, I'll see you later alright?" I spoke with a sigh. He gave me a small kiss before I had to walk over to Gemma and Tara. They were waiting for me outside with Abel. "You ready to go baby?" Gemma gave me a slight smile.

"Let's get this over with." I nodded, climbing into the back seat of Tara's car. The only upside of having to sit in the back, was getting to sit with Abel.

The ride to the store was a short one. Tara and Gemma put themselves in charge of getting any supplies we might need, while I was the one in charge of carrying Abel around the store. I didn't have a problem with that though- I would much rather carry him around than having to do the shopping.

Thankfully, the shopping part of the trip didn't last long. While they were putting the groceries in the trunk, I was getting Abel settled into his car seat.I had only just gotten Abel buckled in, when Gemma pulled the car away from the curb- causing me to fall back in my own seat. "What the hell." I mumbled to myself.

It was strange that Gemma was now driving Tara's car, but I didn't think anything of it. At least not until Gemma pulled up into a random neighborhood, got out of the car, and started following some girl.

"Who is that?" I asked Tara, climbing into the front seat. Tara had moved over to the drivers seat. "Do you remember what happened to Gemma?" She asked, not taking her eyes off the road. I hate when people answer a question with another question. "No, what happened to Gemma?" Now I was really confused. We were now heading, I'm guessing, towards Jax and Tara's house.

Tara took a deep breath before answering me. "A while back, at the welcome home party for Bobby, Zobelle's right hand Weston and Zobelle's daughter took Gemma to a warehouse. Weston and two other men raped Gemma, trying to send the club a message." She explained. Things very suddenly all made sense to me.

"Is that why she's been so jumpy the past few months?" I gasped with out really thinking. Of course that's why she had been so jumpy recently.

"Will you grab Abel while I unlock the door? You can leave him in the carseat if you want." Tara asked, climbing out of the car. Silently, I nodded my head before turning around to get Abel. He was dead asleep in his seat, it made me smile. "Come on little man, let's get inside." I spoke lightly so i wouldn't risk waking him up.

Tara was walking back into the kitchen from somewhere else in the house with a small bag in her hands. "Do you need me to get anything?" I asked, placing Abel's car seat up on the counter top. "No, we don't need much from here. Mostly just essentials." She spoke just as Half-Sack came inside.

"Where's Gemma?" We both questioned him at the same time. Of course that was the logical question to ask since we had left him with Gemma to watch her. "Feds raided the house, I lost her." He sounded out of breath.

So, Tara decided that even though she didn't want to bother him, that it was best for her to call Jax and let him know what was going on. "I didn't want to bother you with this, but Gemma followed Zobelle's daughter and- OH!" As she spoke, I moved to shut the door behind Half-Sack when someone forced their way through- and my body was slammed back against the wall. My head smacked the wall, and little black dots began to appear in my vision. My body slumped down into the floor, I could see and hear things happening around me; but I couldn't move..

It was Cameron, the Irish man that Chibs patched up a few months ago. "Weapon." He ordered, reaching into Ha;f-Sack's cut and taking his gun. Tara backed herself up to where she was sitting in a chir with her hands up. "What are you doing? What do you want?" She gasped out. "Gemma killed my Eddy. I figured killing an old lady should even the score." He spoke, pointing the gun at her.

Tara shifted awkwardly in her seat as Half Zack moved to rush Cameron, only to have the gun pointed at him instead. "Don't get brave boy-o." Cameron ordered.

At the sound of his voice, Abel woke up and began crying loudly from his spot on the counter. So, Cameron stepped towards the baby. I could no longer see the man but I could hear every thing that was happening. Cameron apparently made a move that threatened Abel, because everything that came next was a blur.

Tara screamed, Half-Sack fell to the ground with blood staining his t-shirt. Then, Cameron tied Tara up somewhere, before leaving- taking Abel with him. I sat there, trying to regain control over my body. I was stuck there until the boys came running through the door. Hitting my leg in the process.

Chibs was first to notice Half-Sack laying in the floor, while Opie was the one to find me behind the door. "Chibs." Opie pointed out. Chibs was quick to run over and pull me to my feet. "Christ, Kaela, are you okay?" He questioned, having to hold me up. It took a minute for me to catch my balance.

"I-I'm fine, I just hit my head pretty bad." I muttered, placing my hand on the back of my head. Jax brought Tara in the room, and Chibs ushered me over to her. "Tara, check her head please. We've got to go." With that, all three of the men went running out of the door. Going after Cameron to get Abel back no doubt. God, how I hope they get that boy back.

"How's your head, did you see any spots or stars when you hit it?" Tara asked, looking at my eyes. "A bit, yeah. If felt like I had blacked out' but I could still see and hear everything." I sighed. Tara nodded slightly. "It's most likely a mild concussion, you'll be alright."

Not long after she finished looking me over, Hale and a few others came walking into the house. I wasn't sure who had called them; but it was more than likely a good thing that they were here.
