Status: and we're back!
To Sweden With Love
fem
When I woke up the next morning, I woke to an empty bed.
Figures.
I sighed and checked my phone. One message from Ellie.
In case you are concerned. I'm fine.
I took a sigh of relief and replied.
Are you sure? Where are you?
Patric’s house, since he didn't know where I lived.
Oh shit, I knew I forgot to tell him something last night.
Don't worry. He and Malin took good care of me.
I texted her back about possibly meeting up for lunch, and tried to call Michael.
Straight to voicemail.
I groaned and slammed my head back into my pillow. Just once, I wish his phone wasn't dead.
I started to doze off when my phone went off. Thinking it was Ellie or Michael, I looked at it.
Good morning best friend!
I groaned as I rolled my eyes.
Best friend? Did i miss something overnight?
Yup. I decided to upgrade you.
So, do I win a prize?
Absolutely! But it's a surprise.
Before I could respond, Michael came into the bedroom.
“Hey babe,” he said as he kissed my forehead.
I put my phone down and followed him into the bathroom.
“Where were you Michael? I tried calling and texting you.”
“Oh I ended up staying at Steve’s house. You know how me and the guys get when we go out.”
I rolled my eyes. “Yeah but you used to come home every night.”
“Look Liv, I'm sorry. I just couldn't drive. Plus my phone died so I couldn't call for an Uber or even you for that matter.”
“Whatever. I'm going to lunch with Ellie. I'll be back whenever.”
He grabbed my arm. “Babe, don't leave here mad. I really am sorry.”
“You've been sorry every night for 2 weeks or more. Hard to believe you anymore.” I said as I walked out of the bedroom.

When I arrived at Rivertowne, Ellie had already grabbed us a table.
“Wow you look like you could kill someone.”
I sighed as I sat down. “Michael went out again last night. And once again, didn't come home until late morning.”
She laughed. “Sorry, it really isn't funny. But I told you that you guys won't make the altar.”
I waved her off. “Changing the subject, how was Patric’s house?”
“It was lovely thank you. I even got pancakes this morning. But um, how did you even get home last night?”
Before i could answer, I heard someone yell. ‘BEST FRIEND’ from across the restaurant.
I groaned and put my head in my hands. “That is how.”
Ellie turned around to see Carl walking up to our table.
She looked at me and mouthed ‘him? Seriously?’
I nodded as he walked up. “Hi Carl.”
“I didn't think I was ever gonna see you again! How's best friend doing?”
Ellie piped in with a grin. “Oh best friend had a fight with her man.”
I gave her a look. “Me and Michael are just fine thank you. What are you doing here?”
He motioned over to a group of players. “We got hungry after practice, you guys wanna join?”
I replied ‘no' when Ellie exclaimed ‘yes'.
I cleared my throat. “No thank you. I actually need to eat and run.”
He shrugged. “Okay, catch Yinz later.”
As he went back to his table, Ellie hit me.
“Story! Now!”
I rolled my eyes as I told her what happened last night. When I got done, she started laughing.
“Oh my God Liv, he likes you! Now I for sure guarantee you don't get down that altar.”
I shook my head.
Why does everyone think I won't get married?
Figures.
