She was dragged unwillingly to the family cabin for the summer holidays. Finally she was a teenager and she wanted nothing more than to spend the summer at the beach with her friends or shop at the new mall a town over. She was glued to her cell phone for the first few days in the woods, sending selfies and posting statuses about her outfit instead of hiking or fishing with her family.

But then the wi-fi mysteriously vanished. Her father claimed he didn’t know how to fix it and blamed it on the woods, that the internet was unreliable so far away from the city. She sulked for the rest of the day and refused to hear his call that evening for dinner.

She emerged the next morning with a new set of eyes that reminded her how beautiful it was to spend time with her family. Without the distraction of her phone, she could see her surroundings for what they really were.
