The Closet

I have a secret. I want to share it so people know the truth about me, but I am terrified of the consequences. Secrets ruin friendships, they hurt feelings, and sometimes they are unforgivable. But I feel as though I am living a lie if I don’t tell anyone. The person my friends and family know and love isn’t the real me, but would they like the real me if they knew? This conflict is tearing me up as much as the secret itself. But tonight I am going to face my fears and finally come out of the closet. I’m hoping with all of my might that I will find acceptance not rejection.
