Haunting Grey

The search for Natalie was full of many emotions: hope, anger, panic and depression. At least for me, that's what it felt like, all tangled up in my body, with nowhere to go. I had no outlet for my grief or guilt. Because it was my fault she was gone.

My father had told me so, the night I told him she went missing.

"You should have been watching her," he'd scolded. "Damnit." He paced around the apartment then, and glared at me. "You better hope she's alright."

What he meant to say was, You better hope she's alive.
