Haunting Grey

Four

I remembered the day perfectly. The day the police had come to my house to tell us that they were closing the case.

Natalie was officially declared dead after a year.

I felt sick.

My dad touched my shoulder, as a way to comfort me, but all I felt was his fingers pressing down hard, digging into my shoulder bone.

I knew he blamed me for what happened, and he wasn't the only one. The whole town felt the same, I could see it when people looked at me in school or on the street.

The day someone spray painted the word killer on my locker, I'd had enough. I found out who it was—it wasn't difficult—and I went after them.

I put them in the hospital.

But that didn't give me a sense of closure like I thought it would.

No. Closure would come, in a way I never expected.
