The Girl With the Band

Cowboys from Hell

I laid on my bed with my arms draped over my face emotionless. I had no motive to get out of this room. It's not like my mother would be downstairs smiling, and giggling as she unpacked. She would have found it ridiculous for us moving to California. Nothing was wrong with South Carolina. Nothing good could come from here, it's too crowded.

"Sis," I heard my brother, Johnny speak as he sat on the edge of my bed.

I grumbled, "What Johnny?"

"Going to unpack anytime soon?" He spoke almost instantly.

"What's the point? Mom would've.." I spoke until cut off.

"Mom wouldn't want you here moping around Luna. Let's go walk to that park down the street. What do ya say?" Johnny said as he jumped up.

I rose up from what felt like the dead, and stared into his eyes.

He did his famous grin and two thumbs up as he literally slid out my room. I couldn't help but to smile back at him. And to think he was just a year and a half older than me.. I went to the bathroom, and fixed my long brown hair into a ponytail that immediately went wavy. Grabbing my earbuds and mp3 player from my desk I slid it into my jean pocket. As I continued down the stairs I seen Johnny at the door waiting. I ran to the front door and slid on my shoes as Johnny came in behind me. It only took around ten minutes to get to the park. As we walked past the nearby houses around the park we seen garage doors slung open right after another.

"Aren't they worried about getting robbed or something?" I pointed towards the houses to Johnny.

"We're in California Luna, it's nothing like the Carolina's," He said calmly. "Oh look a squirrel!"

I stared at my brother as he took off running after a squirrel. I couldn't believe I was raised in the same house as him, and I'm normal. As normal as I could be at least. "Johnny watch out!" I screamed.

"Wha-?" Johnny said as he turned around to tall character with spiked blonde hair.

The guy didn't flinch to Johnny one bit. "What are you doing with my squirrel?"

"Your squirrel, what the fuck man? It's a squirrel," Johnny hollered at the guy.

The man turned around to his three other friends behind him and stated sarcastically, "You hear that, it's a squirrel. Just a squirrel! Listen here you short shit,"

Johnny's eyes got as big as the moon at the four guys. He knew he was in for a beating. I looked at my brother, scared in place, not saying a word.

"I'm just fucking with you man, you three douches owe me five dollars each you fuckers," The man laughed as he patted Johnny's shoulder roughly. I looked between the men giving their money to the tall one. I looked between each one, and only one met me in the eyes. I tore away fast.

Johnny looked at me and I read his lips of 'What the fuck?'. I shrugged my shoulders as I seen the three stooges pat bub's shoulders once again.

"I'm Jimmy, this is Brian, Zacky, and Matt," The men finally revealed themselves. "But they call me, Jim Star!" they all busted out laughing.

"I'm Johnny, and this is my sister Luna.

"She's fucking hot man," Brian stated as he began to wink creepily at me. I gave a strange look towards the boy, and up to my brother.

"Is he serious?" I whispered to Johnny. He shrugged his shoulders. One of the boys got Johnny's attention as they got into a deep conversation. I looked around to the scenery. My feet began to wander the park and the next thing, I was sitting on the swings with my mp3 in my ears.

I turned the song, Cowboys from hell on full blast as my head started to slightly head bang. I had no intention to do so, it's something you couldn't help. 'You see us comin', And you all together run for cover, We're takin' over this town' I mumbled.

"Is that a threat?" I heard a voice beside me, which made me jump. I looked to my right and saw the buffer guy from the group, with black short hair. I glanced up and a nervous laugh squeaked out, "It's a - uh song,"

"I know," He said as his dimples shined brightly. I couldn't help but to smile back. God he was dreamy.
