The Girl With the Band

Ruby's Diner

Luna's P.O.V.

I walked directly to my bathroom mirror as I stared into it. Today Johnny, my father and I are all suppose to go to the pier for a 'family day'. Taking a shower, and putting on my clothes was an easy process. Applying my dark makeup was when it got tricky. Staring into the mirror made my breathing hitch a few times. Seeing Wendts face appeared at different times, causing me to mess up a couple times. After a few more minutes, I was ready. Heading down the stairs I seen the two men in my life smile at me. I couldn't help but to put on a smile as well.

"Where would y'all like to go to?" My dad asked as he moved his fingers in a fast motion. Johnny wouldn't say anything, but just look to me. We were in the middle of the pier with many restaurants bright lights appear.

"This place looks promising," I said to Johnny, and caught a glimpse of dad. I pointed towards it for him to understand. He smiled and nodded as he pushed us kids first.

"Table for three," Johnny spot to the waitress as she came by. The smiling woman, walked us to the table and we ordered our drinks, and the breakfast we were craving. We began to chat aimlessly. I watched as Johnny approached a girl, flirting with all his might. I always laughed at the antics my brother got into, trying to pick up chicks was all he cared about.

I began to think of my mother as she would be shaking her head at this moment. Telling my brother to sit down or she'd be pulling his ears off. I sighed and looked up as Johnny sat back down, staring at something hard. "Sissy, can you get up, I have to use the bathroom," I watched my dad sign. I nodded and scooted out the booth. As I got up and turned around, I hit into a hard surface.

"I am sorry I was getting up, and not paying attention" I spoke, and giggled carefully. But before I looked up at the person, my heart began to hurt, harder to breathe.

"Excuse me," The voice spoke, Wendt. He bent down to my height with his hot breathe on my ear, "You're mine. Marked,"

He smiled at Johnny, and at my father as he began to walk the opposite direction of the restaurant. My eye couldn't help but to follow his movements as he sat down with a couple other guys, all laughing up a a storm. I felt his eyes burning into my back, literally felt like burning.

"Sissy what was that about?" I saw my dad sign, not bother speaking.

I looked into his eyes, with a fake plastered smile, "Nothing, I sighed back. I let him walk past me to go to the bathrooms, and sat back down. Feeling another pair of eyes on me I looked up and saw Johnny, annoyed. I groaned as he began to ask questions. I answered them for him, as I was hoping dad would finally come back so he'd stop.

"Hey man! Fancy seeing you here," Johnny spoke with a huge grin on his face. I turned around and saw the four familiar faces I liked to see. Even though we all met yesterday, it was the first day out of the house for me and these guys took my heart already.

I felt heavy eyes on the back of my neck, turning around I expected to see Wendt but found the seats empty. I looked straight ahead and felt the heat of someones breathe on my left cheek. I turned carefully and half screamed as I saw Jimmy there smiling wide.

"Jimmy what the hell!" I stated, holding my chest.

"Can I get a piece of your toast?" He said and smiled at me, basically licking his lips. I handed him my whole toast and giggled as he twirled in a circle. He was like a child I swear..

"How are you today beautiful Miss Luna?" I heard Matt say. I turned towards him and a blush creeped on my cheeks.

"I'm fine, you guys are so good at scaring people!" I said and lightly hit his chest. I felt his hand cover mine as we looked into each others eyes. Oh my heart fluttered.

"Sissy, who are all these kids?" My dad signed. I looked in his eyes, and glanced at mine and Matt's hand still on his chest. I yanked it back.

I signed back quickly that it was mine and Johnny's friends. It felt like the whole restaurant got silent between all seven of us. I knew all the guys were looking at my dad and his disability. "Johnny is in a band with them, we just met them yesterday,"

He nodded, and shook all of their hands with a smile on his face. Dad scooted back into his seat. " I think that tall one with that freaky hair has your toast," Dad said as he signed. I giggled and nodded. It seemed like everybody clicked and was laughing, even my dad. The boys didn't leave him out.

As we laughed for several minutes and ate we got up and paid for our meal. I walked between Matt and my father, as the rest of the boys were far ahead on the pier laughing and pushing each other. I seen familiar faces from Ruby's on a bench, staring towards me. I looked at Matt and them. Suddenly, in a shock I felt a hand wrap around mine. I smiled and gripped my hand around his tighter.

For once, since my mothers death I felt happy. I didn't catch myself as I was smiling at Matt the whole time, and of course his dimples shined back at me brightly.
